So i was researching toners from the body shop and decided to go with this one instead of the tea tree one.. since that one might be a little too drying for winter times.. and ive almost finished up the bottle im using now and i have to say i loveee it very much!! Long term use really did change my skin and reducing shine.. i think i switched from being oily skin to more combination skin now.. however i didnt notice much in pore minizing.. so i think ths is a great toner for long term use in reducing shine.. ( if you have the patience for it) the bad thing about it is that the cap broke off like the second day i bought it.. so i had no lid for the toner which is bad... so i wouldnt say the quality of packaging is the greatest so 1 lippie off that.. umm im probbably going to go back to this in the futur but now im switching to H2O's mattifying toner.. im quite interested in the deep sea/seaweed stuff
anyways its a decent toner overall
I used this more as a 2nd step to my skincare regimen where I put the toner on a cotton pad to wipe away any remaining dirt or makeup. It does a great job of doing that. However, it usually leaves my skin very dry afterwards, so I will follow up with another toner and moisturizer.
i was mistaken the first time i used this. i thought it made me break out, but like all other toners i've tried, it's just a sign of my skin getting used to it. i use it on a cotton bud and i only tip it upside down once very quickly - that's all i need. if i use any more, it takes a while longer to dry on my skin, and it dries it out a little. i'm quite happy with this - it's made my skin a lot more smoother and i havent gotten a breakout for a few weeks now. it's relatively inexpensive, and i love the smell. so i think maybe a few people are using too much of it?? give it a go!
i like the gel cleanser of the same line so i thought i would give the toner a try.........big mistake..........after using it for one day , morning and nite, i think my face got burned and then developed multiples pimples due to the irritation.........right after i throw it into the garbage..........i switched back to the garnier one that i was using all along.......and my skin is back to normal after two days..........this stuff is harshhhhhh...........
It does its job as a toner.. What more can i say. I like the smell unlike other reviewers, i don't think it's overwhelming.. It does remove any left over dirt and make up and leaves a fresh and clean feeling sooooo...... I think it's an Ok toner. I guess there are better toners with a hundred extra's but im satisfied with this one. Would repurchase.
I had to try out the seaweed line from The Body shop because they have a pore perfector from this line that claim to not only covers but effectively treats large pores of the face. So I bought the whole line of their seaweed treatment.
As toners go, this one smells nice and does the job of removing my excess oil, my facial skin is combination-oily so I mainly only use it on my t-zone area which is more prone to oil. It doesn't leave my skin shiny like other toners have done to me in the past. A little amount of it on your cotton ball go along way so it only takes a little and evens out how pricey it is.
It does not give that tingly contracting face or skin feeling and does not dry as quickly as other toners do, so I can tell that it truly is alcohol free. It maybe it is because of this that I mostly don't feel that my pores close a bit or contract or become smaller. I don't see them grow smaller either so I might really need to use the pore perfector religiously to get the full effect. So if you're not into the body shop, support their community trade or their other ideals and values, then a less expensive yet alcohol free toner will do just as well as this one.
If you have combination to oily skin and love the body shop their seaweed line should help you.
I would buy this again only if it were on sale which they normally do in the body shops here in Manila, Philippines.
i dont like it , the smell is horrible (i really regret that i didin't try the tester b4 i bought it) and it's not that gentle as it suggests. definately not gonna buy it again.
the seaweed deep cleansing facial wash is ok tho.

For me, this didn't work out. It left a horrible sticky, greasy like texture on my skin and stung quite a bit, making my skin burn a little. I like the other seaweed products but this was a let down.

Although for combination/oily skin, I still found that this toner works for me. It doesn't get rid of too much shine, but it doesn't dry the skin out so I'm good. I use powder to get rid of shine anyway. It has a kind of clean smell and has lasted me a pretty long while. It's very adept at getting rid of my mascara smudges/eyeliner/eyeshadow at the end of the day. Makes my skin feel really fresh. It's not tested on animals either, which is a bonus. Recommended.
