I'm on my third bar right now! I love it! I didn't realize that I loved it so much when i bought the basis sensitive skin bar when my drugstore ran out of the cetaphil bar. The basis bar made my skin soo itchy and it broke me out! I was soo upset, I threw that away and bought the cetaphil antibacterial bar somewhere else. and now my skin is back to normal, no breakouts! i love this bar. I dont know if its the triclosan because some say it doesn't help with breakouts and others say that it does.. whatever it is..its working on me! it removes my make up very well too! i would stamp this as my HG because it works. this doesn't leave me tight or dry..which is excellent. I would definitely repurchase... as you can tell from the beginning of this review.. its my third bar!

Been using the bar for couple of weeks now. Great cleansing power and very gentle. This is the first cleanser that I can recall that doesn't leave my face feeling tight after washing. Since I have comination/oilly skin I used to choose cleansers that says it's for acne control. Now I have switched, My acne has calmed down more, I follow with hydrating toner and vitamin E oil. So far no new breakouts. I would definitely buy cetaphil again, but I will try the regular formula instead of antibacterial and see if it works just as well. I would be more than happy to come back to this bar is the regular bar doesn't work out for me. great value, great buy.

Excellent for giving a clean scrub. Used on my face with a washcloth for times when I didn't feel the cetaphil daily cleanser got me "squeaky" clean. Active ingredient is Triclosan, which helps fight acne by killing bacteria. Smell is very light, like Dove or something.

I used this for about 2 weeks. My skin cleared up quickly without overdrying. I had thought I had found my HG cleanser until I noticed that my face felt like it had a sticky film that could not be rinsed away. I blamed it on the soap. If I were to use this regularly, I would need a follow-up cleanser to wash off the residue left by Cetaphil. What's the point then? I still give it 2 lippies for killing pimples.

I don't use this on my face as it's too harsh and the fragrance gives me a rash, but it does wonders for my back and body.

After just a few days, my acne had calmed down and started to visibly reduce. It cleans really well, but doesn't leave your skin too dry, though you might want a good noncomedogenic moisturizer on it afterwards.

I don't like the smell, and I wish it weren't in a bar form, but otherwise, no complaints!

I bought this cleansing bar on a whime. Glad that I did. I was using Basis sensitive bar but it seemed to dry out my oily skin way to much. Which lead to breaking out. Pimples at my age are just plain WRONG!!! This stuff seems to clean off my makeup and leave my skin SOFT. Not stripped or patchy dry. It doesn't even make my oily skin oilier. Matter fact it helps to make my skin stay kind of matte. I use Signature Club A moisteriser after cleansing. I also use this bar on my entier body since it it antibacterial. My body doesn't have winter skin itch any more. Good stuff will buy again. I plan on making my 13 yr old son use it sonce he too has oily skin with a few break outs. UPDATE*** (5/12/08) Had to quit using this on my face due to over drying and breaking out. Sucks cuz it was working so well. I dont even use it on my body due to over drying. Makes me ITCH super bad. BUMMER.

I started out using the original bar formula about 3 years ago but found it too gentle at removing cosmetics and oil. I reserve the original formula for morning use or very cold months when a really gentle cleansing is all that is needed. For the rest of the year, warmer months, the Antibacterial Gentle Cleansing Bar is magnificent. I don't have an acne problem but I do have issues with fair reactive skin. I would not recommend this product to someone with very oily skin or acne prone skin as I suspect it may aggravate those issues. I do think that a weekly cleansing facial mask is necessary when using this bar, which is especially effective at ridding the T Zone of oil clogged areas. After years of searching for the ideal cleansing bar I found it with this product. At first I didn't like it but I finished the bar and realized this is a keeper.

Good thing I work in a doctor's office, because this crap gave me the most disgusting looking pimply rash ever. I had the doctor look at it and tell me to put bacitracin or neosporin on it to clear it up. It eventually cleared up, but this stuff is GROSS and not gentle whatsoever. Save your money, unless you like pimply rashes.

This broke me out. Not for me. Tried both versions. I have a face full of whiteheads from this junk.

I first starting using this bar in 2007 at the recommendation of my dermatologist. I have long had keratosis pilaris on my upper arms, and Amlactin lotion worked for a long time. In the early spring2007, I started to see a rash on my legs, although I couldn't feel anything and the skin wasn't rough, dry, oily, etc. The dermatologist first had me on an antibiotic, and then told me to start using the antibacterial Cetaphil as a replacement to my normal body wash. I saw improvement on both arms/legs and am still using this with great success.
