I don't know what it is about this conditioner, but I'm not a fan :( After seeing the great reviews, I ran out and bought it. My hair is highlighted blonde and a little past my shoulders. It's not real damaged, but it is a little dry. No matter how much I use, it just feels heavy, and after I rinse it out, my hair feels "blah". It doesn't feel soft. But I'm happy so many other people like it...I guess my search continues...lol..oh like I'm not a product junkie or something anyways ;)
This product builds up very fast on my hair and has a lot of silicones. It smells like baby powder and is yellow and thick. It worked on my hair at first and then it started making my hair poofy and less curly and dirty looking. I was not impressed at all. The matching shampoo wasn't any good either.
I am so impressed with this conditioner. i use it everyday with the shampoo and i use the treatment once a week. my hair looks so much healthier. i was using wen and liked how shiny it made my hair but it never felt totally clean. i have thick long slightly wavy layered hair. because of my layers, it tends to look very damaged at the ends, since using this for the past two weeks, my hair falls nicer and looks so shiny. i straightened it the other day and whoa! super shiny. makes it feel clean but moisturized. would totally recommend. also, i have very sensitive skin and break out when i use fragranced hair products and have not broken out with this.
I'm constantly trying new shampoos and conditions. Always. I have fine, yet super curly hair. and lots of it. I'm also a recovering dye addict. Over a year since my last dye job! I'm working on getting my hair back to its natural state. My hair is still slightly damaged. and even before I started dying my hair I always had horrible frizz and my hair stayed pretty dry. I have used this once. The smell is amazing. Nuts and coconut. OMNOMNOM. I digress. It was instant love with the shampoo. I was worried about the conditioner though. The consistency was a bit thicker than I'm used to and I really had to work it throughout my hair. I left it on my hair while I did all of my other showery stuff. It rinsed away quickly, but when I got out of the shower my hair felt stiff. Somewhat brittle even. Whenever I buy a new shampoo and conditioner, I never put anything else in it afterwards. I let it dry naturally. I actually fell asleep with my hair wet. I woke up thinking my hair was going to be a horrendous mess. Much to my surprise, my hair was in perfect ringlets. It was so soft. I never brush my hair while it is wet, so I was expecting a rats nest to brush through. Not the case! My hair was so soft. Virtually no tangles. It isn't frizzy. It is so shiny. It looks SO healthy. I'm in complete love with this stuff.
I think the other half is diggin' it too. ^_^
I really like this: it's not too heavy to use every day on my long, fine hair, it smells nice, and it's inexpensive. It makes my hair look like it's in great condition!
My new favorite conditioner. It does feel heavy makes my hair feel super shiny and smells amazing. Only thing I dislike is the stupid flippythingy. It's hard to open when ur in the shower, other than that love the product!
This conditioner was better for my hair then Pantene Great Lengths (I think that is what it was called, it has been discontinued), Ojon, Silk Therapy, Sebastion, Aussie 3 Minute, other Dove products, and I know there were others from inexpensive to really expensive. I have not tried the shampoo yet. I cannot say that it gives me lots of shine, but what I can say is that I am spending lots less time putting in smoothing products and serum. I just don't need that much and therefore, drying my hair has taken less time. Great Conditioner, Great Price!
I was in desperate need of a good conditioner and was stoked to find great reviews on this one. However, after using this for two months, I was left very very very disappointed. I'm Asian and I have a lot of thick and frizzy hair. Most of it is left damaged from the straightening I do once or twice a week. The conditioner doesn't make my hair less frizzy, nor does it shine like it used to when I used other conditioners. It's barely softer and when I run my hair through it, it just feels like there's a lot of build up. I've also been breaking out more often but this may be caused by something else (weather, new moisturizers, etc) This product was unfortunately wasn't for me.
EDITED: I was very much in love with this Dove conditioner, until I got to about 1/3 of the bottle. By then, my hair was super greasy; I washed every day, tried Neutrogena & Redken clarifying shampoos as well as baby shampoo. Nothing could get the grease out. I wasn't sure of the problem, but just tried taking the Dove out of my regimine, and sure enough, the greasiness totally went away. I was super impressed initially, so I will have to try again @ another time.
About a year 1/2 ago I had the bright idea to bleach my hair from very dark brown. My hair is now almost to my butt, and because of the bleach job and the routine dye job, is FRIED. Bad. I've gotten sooooo many conditioning products and only a fraction of them have worked, and the ones that did make any difference, it wasn't huge and it didn't last long. The Dove nourishing oil conditioner popped up on my MUA page, and once I read all these great reviews, I decided to try it out. Price and packaging was nice and somehow I snagged the last bottle. I was really excited to try it, and it has yet to let me down. My hair just looks and feels so much healthier & is so shiny. And like a few reviewers mentioned, it felt great with very little, if any, weight added to it. I LOVE this stuff. My ONE complaint is this: because of the maintainance of my hair, I usually only wash it every other day, but since I've been using the Dove, I've had to now wash every day as my it now gets super greasy by the time my off day comes. But, hair washing every day won't hurt me, and I'm willing to take the extra 20 min in the morning to comb out my hair if it means I use this stuff.
Good conditioner but it contains mineral oil which makes me breakout. I don't even put it near my face but I always end up breaking out all along my hairline. Too bad because it did a good job and I liked to switch it up with the Daily Treatment conditioner so my hair wouldn't get used to just one.
