This is a horrible conditioner! Immediately after applying it to my hair I could tell this just wasn't going to do it. After I rinsed my hair it was full of knots & felt like straw. I won't stray from my HG conditioner (Redken Smooth Down) ever again. I have a whole tube of this stuff left & I'm out $32.00. continued >>
FREDERIC FEKKAI Hair Mask with Shea Butter
The words "mask" and "shea butter" instantly made me think this is one super-duper ultra moisturizing hair mask. Sephora was lovely and made me a massive sample of this that was enough to last me a week.
Upon application, I was really surprised that this didn't feel like a conditioner at all - it had little 'slip' and did not feel like it was moisturizing. In fact, when I rinsed it out, my hair was really knotty and did not feel soft or moisturized. I was pretty unimpressed.. However, after my hair dried, I noticed that it was super-soft and smooth. I did apply some gloss serum for shine, but my hair was still significantly softer than normal. And it smelled great :)

I got a small tube as a swap item, and was dying to try something from the inimitable Fekkai. What a total do-nothing product. Anyone looking for deep conditioning -- look further. Does nothing for hair in need of softening, de-frizzing, or repair from chemical processing. You are better off with Neutrogena, Fructis, or even Pantene.
I bought this as a trial size (thank God!) for 8 bucks at Bath and Body Works. I am always on the lookout for a good deep conditioner for my color treated brunette hair. I decided to try this. This sucked so bad for me. It really didn't deep condition that well, even after I left in my hair for 40 min under a plastic cap. Heck, my JF Brilliant Brunette conditioner conditions better than this stuff. I can say that it smelled decent, but I had to follow up with my Matrix Biolage Deep Conditioner. What a waste of 8 bucks. I was expecting much better from the Hair Guru Frederic Fekkai. Oh well.

I bought the sample size from Sephora. First I used a clarifying shampoo on my hair, then put this on for about an hour. Rinsed without shampooing again, my hair felt a little dry after but I applied some FF glossing cream leave in and air dried my hair and had beautiful shiny results. Not sure about the long term results after reading other peoples reviews, but the key might be in clarifying. Definately am pleased with how my hair looks after trying this though.
I'm usually a big Frederic Fekkai fan, but was not impressed with this product. I tried leaving it in for 30 minutes and didn't see any difference in my hair. Several days later I tried it again and left it in overnight, but still could tell a difference.
I adore the Fekkai line and so my last trip to Sephora I got the trail size of this mask. I used it as per the instructions and when it was all said and done I'm not that impressed. It felt great in the shower but made my first styling after using it pretty hard as my hair got super fuzzy. But the next day my hair felt pretty good and I noticed a differance. I might buy this again or just try another mask from his line.
This hair mask worked the best when I left it in over night, then washed my hair thoroughly. Otherwise, it definitely can weigh down your hair. Make sure to use small amounts, but when it is used correctly, it gives hair a great shine and revives it!
