I've been using Revlon Colorstay for a year, and thought I'd give Photoready a try. Well... I have combination skin, with occasionally dry patched, and some acne scars and visible pores. It's pretty safe to say my skin is nowhere near pretty and that I always look for a foundation that offers at least medium coverage.

Photoready gives only light coverage and it magnifies my pores. If I put more on, my pores become even more obvious! I don't think Photoready is for people with big pores!

Although I personally don't like this foundation, my friend tried it and loved it. She has almost perfect skin to begin with though. It gives her skin a very nice glow. After I saw her result, I used it on myself again, but this time I put on Colorstay foundation first, and Photoready second. I actually like the result of this, my skin looks pretty and not overly shiny. Maybe next time I'd try to mix Colorstay and Photoready together and see how that'll turn out.

Anyway, I do not recommend this foundation if you have similar skin condition as mine, so better stick with colorstay if you're considering switching to this.

This arrived by airmail today and I am impressed.

I love the consistency of this foundation. You're applying a thin cream, but not a liquidy one, nor thick and gloopy like most high coverage foundations are.
Goes on like a dream. Flawless without the caked look, and no need to set with powder for a few hours. I have no problems with these 'sparkles', they're hardly noticeable, yet give the skin a light glow which creates a nice natural look. The colour nude is perfect for my skin tone in the winter.
Will definitely repurchase when the bottle runs out, which in the case of the size of this thing, won't be too far into the future.

I have oily skin and this works fine when layered with a matte powder. Otherwise, after 4-5 hours it does make my skin look shiny. However, I actually do really like the shimmer particles as they give your skin a luminous glow and it is not so visible on your face at all unless someone looks at your face really close. It gives your face an overall healthy dewy look.
I would say this foundation gives a light to medium coverage as it does not seem to cover redness well. But with a concealer it works fine.
I especially like the pump of the bottle, its much more convenient as compared to the Revlon Colorstay, although the bottle broke into half after i dropped it.

My favorite foundation is MUFE HD, but I have to say this a very close second. It goes on with moderate coverage... not too heavy, but not light enough that I feel like I have to pack it on. It last alllll day without coming off of clothes, napkins, etc. There is a good selection of colors which is nice since I have a hard to match skin tone. At this price, this is my go to foundation for everyday and MUFEHD for special occassions/going out.

This product does not compare to Revlon's Colorstay foundation. I bought it because I wanted to try out a new foundation since I have been using the Colorstay for years I decided to be a little adventurous and try out something new. This product does not work for oily skin because it has some shimmering particles in it and I feel that it accentuates the oily skin and can potentially even draw attention to large pores.
The coverage is not as heavy as the Colorstay and it won't last as long either.
Overall as someone with oily skin I won't purchase this product again but if you have normal skin it can make your face look dewy and natural.

I have been looking for a good foundation at the drugstore for a long time. And I have been reading reviews for this and it seemed pretty good. So when I first bought it, I loved it. It was smooth and applied really well. But when I kept using it, it started to dry out my skin. It didn't last that long even after using a setting spray. I don't really like it anymore.

For years, I used Merle Norman Luxiva Lasting Foundation and it was my HG. I don't know what changed; whether it was the formula or just the effect of new packaging, but whatever it was, it didn't work anymore. I went to the MAC counter and found a great product with their Pro Longwear SPF 15, and while I love it and I would love to keep it as my HG, I just can't. Also, should MAC ever decide to discontinue their product, I wanted a drugstore product that I could use that gave me the same effect. I had read the reviews for Revlon's PhotoReady SPF 20 for Normal/Oily Skin and they were middle of the road. The ones who loved the product really loved and the ones who hated it really hated it. CVS was running a BOGO on their makeup and I decided to try it. I was leery about the fact that I couldn't color match in store, but CVS has a 100% satisfaction guarantee. I figured that Nude 004 was my color, so I snatched it up. I had to go out last night for a friend's birthday party and figured why not give it a go. I prepped and primed like normal, put my concealer on like normal, contoured like normal, then finally came to the foundation portion of it. I put the foundation on with my normal applicators and blended it out. It matched my skin tone perfectly, it had fantastic coverage, it felt light on my skin, and it dried fairly quickly. I finished my makeup, put on a smidge of HD powder, and walked out the door at 2000 (8:00 pm). Dinner, drinks, girls night, and 5 hours later, my makeup still looked as good as when I put it on. I had to blot one time and re-powder once, but I attribute that to sweating and dancing. When I got home, the hubs even commented on how fresh my makeup looked ("Wow, you don't look all oily and crap." - thanks Hubs...). I was able to get a majority of the foundation off with the first baby wipe. The second baby wipe got the rest of the foundation and the eye makeup off (I use my foundation in addition to my primer on my lids). I washed my face, moisturized, and went to bed. I woke up this morning, fully expecting my face to have some nice little bumps and pimples, but there was nothing. I still have to spend some more time wearing it, but so far, I'm impressed.

Ease of application: Very, it blended well.
Color Selection: Pretty good, the only thing is you can't color match in store like you can at the makeup counters.
Packaging: I love the pump that comes with it, but I'm not fond of glass bottles, they break too easily in my clumsy hands.
Longwear: pretty much lives up to the name. It wears a while and creates a nice pretty canvas.
Coverage: great coverage! It hid scars and minimized the look of the pores.
Removal: It was pretty easy to remove with standard baby wipes.

I am relatively impressed with this foundation. My skin tends to get dry, so sometimes by the end of the day my foundation doesn't look very nice, but I don't have this problem using the Revlon Photoready makeup.

My one real problem is that, although I like light coverage, I feel like this coverage is too light... It's not a very thick makeup. Sometimes when I put it on, I don't notice much of a difference than without it. I really only want a foundation for if I'm going out or if I need a little more coverage (most days I just put some BB cream on) but this doesn't really do the trick. So I have to get a thicker one for those ocassions.

I liked this foundation better in the summer when a little matte and a little shimmer helped. I don't think the shimmer is that bad, it's just not suitable for my combination skin when the weather turns dry. Medium coverage. Like the packaging (the pump especially).
