MAC describes Plumful as a blossoming rose-plum (Lustre) In the tube Plumful looks like a basic muted brownish-plum however, once applied to my lips it evolves into a beautifully smooth rosy-plum. Fantastic for a neutral look as it's only slightly darker than the natural colour of my lips. MAC's Lustre formula is one of my all-time favorites. Lustre Lipsticks are smooth, moisturizing, add a pretty but non sticky shine and have fantastic pigmentation. Overall, Plumful is one of my favorite lipsticks and I will definitely be purchasing again.
Wow! In the tube, and even swiped on a tissue, this lipstick looks like a very tame, ordinary ever-so-slightly-brownish plum/rose. However, once applied to my moderately-pigmented lips, "Plumful" morphed into a delicious bright-yet-soft plum, blue-toned almost to the point of being magenta.
I can see how some might find it too bright, but I love it on me(pale pink-ivory skin, green eyes, dark brown hair).
I took off one lippie because I don't care for the Lustre formula, which is a bit sheer for my taste and lacks staying power. If this were a Matte, or an Amplified Creme, I'd be foaming at the mouth and stocking up!
As it is, it's still a great lipstick, and one that I'd buy again happily.
UPDATE: I got a look at "Plumful" in good daylight, and I'm taking a lippie off its rating, because now it looks like just another YLBB shade, which is just not my "thing." It's still a nice daytime casual shade, though. continued >>
I have finally been "forced" off of my signature, Gwen Stefani red lip look by my dear boyfriend...who prefers me to wear no makeup at all (sigh! Men are so clueless!). Anywho, I just can't bear to have zero drama on my lips (as I'm not a big eyemakeup girl) and Plumful does the trick! It's just a bit punchier than a nudey-pink and the lustre formula makes slicking it on sans mirror a breeze. It's ideal with Lola Cosmetics' Brat liner and VI lipglass on top. To make it even more dramatic, I use Bobbie Brown's Rose liner. Me loves it!
Hugs!

This is one of my top 5 mac lipsticks of all time. It's a beautiful light plummy pink on me, just bright enough to get noticed, and just dark enough for nighttime. It's plummy, pink perfection! :D

This was my Back to MAC selection and I bought unseen/untested based on MUA rec's. I was a little shocked that Plumful would be so pinkish - in fact, it's almost a fuschia/plum. Very unusual, but somehow flattering on me (NW20). Wish it was a little less pink and a little more plum, but still a pretty color that I will definitely reach for alot.
So pretty! A gorgeous plum pink, slightly darker than my pigmented lips but in the same colour family - extremely flattering, I'll be getting a lot of use out of this one. It gives a bit of oomph to your lips, but I don't find it too dramatic for everyday wear, when paired with neutral eyes.
I am a cool/neutral-toned PPP with black hair and blue eyes, for reference. I can imagine this looking great on most cool- and neutral-toned people.
As for the texture, I really like it. I'm a fan of sheer lipsticks in general - I tend to find glosses too sticky and shiny, tinted balms too transparent and opaque lipsticks too heavy and severe. This is perfect; smooth, pigmented and slightly shiny, but not sticky or heavy, and there are many lovely colours, to boot.
Lasting power isn't too great, of course, but I don't mind much; it still leaves a faint stain, and it's easy to reapply. I will definitely be getting more MAC lustres. continued >>

Plumful on me is sort of a magenta-toned plum...adds a very pretty pop of color to my NW20 skin when I'm wearing a neutral eye! I agree with the reviewers who said it's like a slightly darker, cooler version of Capricious. Let's put it this way: I'd wear Capricious to the meeting and Plumful to the Happy Hour!
I love Plumful. It's a perfect plum for my coloring, without looking 'made up'. I am an N-5 in Studio Fix. The lipstick is so creamy, I don't need to wear lip gloss if I don't want to bother. (I usually like to though)
i got this as my recycle liptstick....i normally wear viva glam 3 but you can't get that one through the recycle program because it's for the aids donation (so i understand)....anyway, i digress...i like it a lot...i can make it more sheer or plummy depending on the liner i use and how much i layer. nice texture. nice for a day time lipcolor.
