Well, its not my HG by any means..its an ok mascara.I am a little diapointed thou.I have to agree with one viewer, that the brush is great,no doubt about it.I have it in the water resistant, but it makes my lashes droop and doesnt hold my curl.I do curl my lashes as well. So,I dunno.Maybe its just me,but this mascara is not that good on its own.For me ladies,at least what I was looking for..its a waste of money, but how are ya going to know if you dont try.Right?Would I buy this again?Heck no!
This product definitely didn't clump.....but it also had only minimal effect in making my eyelashes stand out. But...I have started using it as a base for my beloved Maybelline Falsied Flared Black Drama waterproof mascara and it seems to make it last all day and never flake so.. heh so so as a mascara, but kudos for a cheap base that helps my other mascaras
The wand of this mascara is amazing! It's a curved, plastic wand with really fine bristles that cling on to your lashes to help separate them! Picked this up in waterproof because I find that these type of mascaras hold my curl better. Formula is perfect; not too wet and not too thick. This mascara volumizes and separates my lashes. I like this better than maybelline one by one only because this has a better wand. I apply maybelline full and soft waterproof, then this and then another coat of full and soft. This mascara is perfect for lower lashes because the wand sticks to your lashes and helps lengthen them. Definitely would repurchase! :)
Edit: I can't use this on its own. For some reason, it doesn't hold my curl and automatically makes my lashes droop. But I LOVE layering this on after I use my waterproof maybelline full and soft mascara!
Had to change "yes" to "no" if i wanted to repurchase this product. This mascara dries out sooo fast! Makes the formula hard to work with after a week :(
I bought this mascara because of a $2-off coupon I found in a flyer. I chose to go with "Very Black", water resistant. My eyelids can get oily and my eyelashes are stick straight and short. I was pleasantly surprised that when I used one coat of this mascara, after using my eyelash curler, my eyelashes did stay up all day for 10 hours. Lashes are natural-looking after one or two coats. I've been using this mascara now for about 5 days and it does not clump. Clumps crushed! I do notice that at the end of the day, there is some mild smudging beneath my lower lash line on both eyes, but there is no flaking after 10 hours. When I accidentally get some product on my eyelid or make a mistake, I use a dry Q-tip immediately after to gently rub it off, and the product does come off easily. I've tried Lancome Definicils and Maybelline Great Lash in the past - found both formulas drier, thicker, and clumpier compared to the Clump Crusher.
About me: NW10-15 (neutral-cool toned, very fair), blue eyes, Color season is True Summer, Baumann Skin Type is OSPW.
I really like this waterproof mascara. I put on 3 coats and yes, there were some clumps. However, I got great length and volume, although it did not hold a curl as well as some other mascaras I have (which do not give me the same volume). Sigh - not HG but very decent. Nothing built up like the hype, though.
I accidently purchased the water resistant version and I actually don't hate it! I usually dislike the way water proof mascaras apply and I didn't have any problems with this. My lashes were nicely seperated. Removal wasn't difficult, either. I'm curious if the regular version is much different. Like!
I bought mine in black-brown (brown wasn't available in waterproof). This stuff is amazing. I can't imagine what the black would look like on me (dare I say false lashes?). I have long thin lashes. I have a lot but you wouldn't notice that with most mascaras. Most mascaras cause my thin lashes to stick together and make it look like I'm lacking lashes or missing chunks. This mascara doesn't do that. Clump Crusher is a great mascara. I can't say enough good things about this! It gives a slight curl, adds lots of length, adds a bit of thickness, and fans out my lashes. Yes it separates and fans out the lashes. Making it look like I have false lashes (at least I think so). This is just the black-brown people. I haven't been able to go out and buy one of the blacks to see what it looks like. One coat and it looks pretty natural, two coats are okay, but three is the magic number. Just remember to go to a store that has a good return policy if you're iffy on this. I'd hope you love it just as much as I do and don't have to return it!
Also I should add that it is CoverGirl, which I usually dislike. I tend to usually hate those new rubber wands. I like the traditional wands. So the fact that this is that rubber that most CoverGirl mascaras (Lash Blast) have, it's odd that I love this so much.
And one more thing. Waterproof doesn't budge. It stays all day but I was able to get every bit of mascara off with a baby wipe.
I find that it works really well with bottom lashes, where any clumps can look extremely messy. It adds a bit of volume and length, but not a lot, making it good for a natural look. The brush also does a really good job at getting rid of clumps. The reason why I never got into putting mascara on my lower lashes was because they would always clump together, but I don't get that with Clump Crusher.
After hearing all the hype over the the non-water resistant version, I tried really, really hard to like this mascara, but I didn't like this at all for my top lashes. I am SUPER picky about my lashes and will spend several extra minutes in the morning with my curler to get the curl just right for my dead-straight Asian lashes. Clump Crusher completely destroys my curl with just one coat, which is a huge dealbreaker for me.
Overall, decent mascara. May consider repurchasing if I start wearing mascara on my bottom lashes, but would definitely not repurchase for use on my top lashes.
Just bought this yesterday at target and I have to say it's just like the cover girl lash blast (waterproof) for me. My lashes look the same if I were to use either product. Since this is water resistant, it is easier to get off than lash blast. I do get length but not a lot of volume and it does hold up my curl, once I curl them, of course.
edit: I see a lot of reviews saying it doesn't hold a curl. The trick to applying this for me is to first apply a really thin layer (don't glob it on) Let it dry for about 1 min and then layer as many coats as you want. It does hold a curl w/ said technique
I am a bit of a mascara hoarder. I have a lot of mascaras... A lot. I've been looking for a mascara that keeps my eyelashes separate because for some weird reason (or maybe not so weird) my lashes often criss-cross and if the mascara clumps I end up with spider lashes.
Packaging: Large and bright green. I like it. It makes it really easy to spot in a full makeup bag and I have no issues using the handle.
Brush: I go back and forth between bristles and plastic teeth. I feel like the plastic teeth of this brush do a better job at separation and remaining clump-free. The brush is also curved which is a big plus in helping me get the corners, the lower lashes, and giving a bit of a curl boost.
Formula: This mascara is not as waterproof as other formulas I've tried, even in the LB series. I did note that it is called "water resistant" as opposed to "waterproof." Like others said, it is a bit on the dry side. However, I like how it's drier since I don't really need to wait for my lashes to dry. Downside, it does make it harder to get rid of smudges.
Overall: I like this mascara. It doesn't really add as much volume as it claims but it does prevent clumps. A downside is that if you load up on the product it does kind of kill the curl. I still like this better than more expensive brands... but maybe not as much as some others. I would repurchase though... as long as it's on sale =).
