This make up brush is hands down the best beauty splurge I have made in a quite some time. It is everything you would want in a foundation brush. It provides a flawless , airbrushed application. You can build coverage from sheer to full with ease and the best part .. no streaks ! I was not looking to buy a new foundation brush as I have 3 in my brush collection already and wasn't unhappy with them , but I saw it as an editors top pick in a magazine and it caught my eye while browsing the cosmetic counters at the mall. I decided to take a chance and I am so happy I did. Love, love. love this brush and highly recommend !
I love this brush! I just started using it with the Shiseido Advanced Hydro Liquid foundation. I don't need to dab very much product at all, and it covers everything flawlessly. It is easy to build up coverage and it is so natural looking. It is so much better than the sponges that came with the foundation. The small size works really well. I travel a lot and everything needs to fit into my makeup bag.
I haven't bought any high end brushes before. I am glad I made the splurge for this one!
This brush is great for Shiseido's own line of powder foundation (picks it up really well) but can also be used for any other powder foundation. The soft flat surface is great for touching up areas on your face that need a little more attention, and the angle tip also helps you get into little nooks and crannies around the nose and eye area.
I would not recommend using this brush all over your face because it would take too long to put on your makeup, but it really complements the sponge that comes with it or a large powder brush.
Great for applying liquid foundation. Brush is very soft, and creates a finish that looks like skin. Brush is small, so it gets into all the small areas to create a flawless finish. However, since the brush is small, it will take longer to apply your foundation, so a larger brush may be better if you don't have enough time. Most reached for foundation brush in my collection.
I love this brush!
I thought I was never going to find a foundation brush that I'd like and I never really thought such brush exists.
This brush might be smaller than most foundation brushes but I love it. It's very very very dense and easy to work with.
I find it best to apply this using a stippling/ dabbing motion. I was so pleased when my bf said, "that looks good baby" as I was applying my cream foundation.
The best product. It was recommended to me and my mum by the sales woman and boy what a purchase!
I use Nars sheer glow foundation and having used this brush for the past two months I have a lot more product left than using my old Bobbi Brown brush or my hands.
It is true that the foundation can be soaked into the bristles and it isn't the largest brush but I personally find this to not be a problem. If anything, it makes sure that you blend the foundation in more evenly creating an even more natural look. I haven't tried this brush with anything but a liquid foundation, but apparently it works with powder as well!
If you are looking for a no fail foundation brush you have found the softest, most blendable BEAUTIFUL product. I don't usually rate my cosmetics but this brush needs to enter more lives like it did for my mum and I! HG for sure.
Pretty looking foundation brush by Shiseido. I threw out my previous paddle shaped foundation brush after using this one. There's absolutely no comparison.
This brush allows you to control the amount of product you want to place on particular areas of your face. For example, you can concentrate more under your eyes to conceal dark circles or around the nose areas to conceal redness. You can make your foundation double up as concealer given that it has buildable coverage. The unique shape is super easy to adapt to the undereye area and around the nose area too.
The Shiseido video (it's in Japanese) demonstrating the correct technique for using this brush offered these tips: 1) For the triangle area at the front of the cheeks below the eyes, using a dabbing motion to apply liquid foundation as this area often has more imperfections and need more coverage; for the undereye area use horizontal strokes along the shape of the eye, you can pat on more foundation lightly for more intense coverage; 2) For the t-zone, twist your wrist a little while using a dabbing motion, which results in more pressure applied, allowing product to stick better to your skin.... I personally find the dabbing motion works just as well; 3) for the remaining areas of the face, like the hairline, jawline, temples, simply use straight strokes to blend out foundation towards the outer areas of the face... can apply more foundation if you need more coverage on the outer parts of the face too.
These tips were wonderful and allows me to create a flawless finish with my foundation, which I couldn't do with my fingers or my paddle brush before. And this brush does NOT leave any streaks. It creates an airbrushed look and you can probably skip concealer if you use correct techniques with this brush.
I love this brush! I have over 60 brushes and this is one of my top favorites. It applies like a dream and is really soft. I highly recommend this brush if you use powder foundation. I have yet to try it with liquid foundation.
Sold out on Sephora.com, I was elated when I discovered I could get this to my door in two days via sears.ca (with free shipping to boot). I had high hopes it would be the foundation brush to end all foundation brushes.
Alas, it wasn't meant to be.
First, the pros. It IS wonderfully soft, and feels luxurious gliding along my skin.
But that's it, for me. It's far too small, but my displeasure with the size has nothing to do with its efficiency. It just takes me too long to do my base, which is something I try to perfect while maintaining a bit of a time limit. When I dot the foundation on my face and buff it out using this, I get better application; however, when I put the foundation on the back of my hand and pick it up with this brush, more ends up INSIDE the brush than actually on my face. But that's not a Shiseido thing either - I find that to have been true of all flat top brushes I've tried. So maybe it's me. Maybe I'm using it wrong.
But the thing is that I have found a quick, efficient method, and that's one I can apply using this particular product. If you have more patience than I do, and have time to have that beautifully airbrushed, finished look, this little guy is for you.
I absolutely love this brush!! i use it for my bobbi brown natural finish long lasting foundation and with this brush i get the most natural finish. After applying it with the brush I gently dab it in a bit more with my fingers ( i think this would not be necessary because my foundation is already really good worked into my skin with this brush but i feel like this makes it even more natural looking). I think the finish is just amazing. Even my sister who really hates make up and always says something like "you really should not put something onto your skin. skin is not supposed to be covered up by make up!!" had to admit that it looks just like my natural skin :) My bobbi brown foundation is a light coverag foundation but with this i can really build it up and it still looks natural. Its small but i can work really fast with this and its perfect for applying make up around the nose. Also this brush is very soft and does not make any kind of streaks (!!) and stays clean for a very long time. Love this!!
