This was way too matte and cakey looking on me. I might have loved this when my skin was oilier, but it looked really thick and obvious on my combo/dry skin. Any dry patches ended up flaky and accentuated. I liked the Fantastic Finish formula much better. Perhaps I will use this sample as an undereye concealer after I have a late night! ;-)
THIS IS THE BEST LIQUID MINERAL MAKEUP I HAVE EVER USED. HAVE ALL OF THE 3 KINDS. USE THIER MAKEUP SPONGE AND ITS A BREEZE TO PUT ON. THE BLUSHES ARE FANTASTIC. WILL CONTINUE TO BUY THIS PRODUCT. HAVE HAD ALL KINDS OF COMPLIMENTS ABOUT MY SKIN SINCE I STARTED WEARING THESE PRODUCTS. EVEN GOT MY MOTHER TO TRY THEM AND SHE FEELS THE SAME WAY. I HAVE EVEN USE B/M MINERAL VEIL OVER IT AND MAKES THE MAKEUP LOOK EVEN BETTER
This is my holy grail foundation! I tried it after reading the reviews on MUA and I'm so glad I did. I have a pale peaches and cream complexion, which makes it difficult to find a foundation that matches my skin color. This matches perfectly and makes my skin look natural and flawless. If you like good coverage with a natural look even in sunlight--try this.
For those of you who have had trouble blending this foundation, and for ladies who want a sheer finish for summer, blend with a damp sponge. Fast and perfect!
How do I love thee, let me count the ways...At $20 a tube, this is the best foundation/concealer of all time for me. I use it as a concealer for larger sections (under my eyes and tops of cheeks), around my nose and chin. It has a high sunscreen, totally blends into my skin (Florentine Fair with a touch of Sienna Sun...I have light/medium yellow toned skin). It lasts all day, doesn't get cakey and looks totally natural. Love love love! I only wish it had prettier packaging.
I started using this as just a concealer because it is so concentrated and goes such a long way, but now I've discovered I also use it as a foundation on certain days. Mostly though I like to use Fantastic Finish on the dry parts of my face and this "Extra Coverage" formula on my nose and forehead because it is semi-matte and seems to control oil well.
It also works really well along with a powdered mineral makeup as a concealer for areas that the powder isn't covering well and the semi-matte formula is again great for controlling oily breakthrough (something I couldn't seems to resolve with powdered minerals). It works much better for me than the "finishing powders" that mineral makeup companies offer to solve oiliness. P.S. Their "Ultimate All Day" formula is even more powerful for controlling shine and using it along with a good mineral powder has been my best makeup combo so far for those super Oily T-Zone days. 2 Thumbs Up!
I discovered this foundation from reading all the great reviews. I ordered samples of several colors from Who's the Fairest. I like this foundation, but you absolutely MUST apply with some type of moisturizer or sunscreen on your face first AND, you only need the smallest, smallest amount to cover an area of your face. Applying this alone is almost impossible because it's very hard to blend. It's a little heavy, even for me, and I like a matte-finish, covers everything foundation. I think it's best for evening wear or used as a concealer. I'm still debating whether or not to buy the full-size because I'm not completely in love with it. I will also have to buy two tubes because none of the three lightest colors alone work for me. I end up blending Amalfi Alabaster and Portofino Porcelin together. They should come up with some new colors because if you are pale, but not Casper pale, Amalfi is way to light and Portofino is a little too dark. I also think that if you have really oily skin, this tends to get greasy pretty quickly. It's still worth trying through if you like a *full* coverage foundation.
I have this in Amalfi Albaster, the lightest shade. I got a sample from WTF? and I like it ok. It looks really heavy if I apply it alone, but that look will occasionally be ok for pictures or heavy-duty evenings out. What I am doing now is occasionally mixing in with my sunscreen when I feel like wearing "liquid" foundation. One plus of this is that it hasn't broken me out, which is really rare for non-powder foundations. I also tried using this as undereye concealer and it creased on me pretty bad. I would still recommend it though.
I was a bit hesitant to try this foundation since it seems like it's one of these YMMV products - either you love it or hate it!
Personally, I looove this! I'm used to foundations with a lot less coverage (MAC face and body is another favourite) but just a small dab of this - blend blend blend! - and viola! perfect skin (or at least it looks that way...)!
It doesn't have much slip to it but I don't find it too difficult to blend. It takes maybe two minutes more to apply this than it takes to apply my other foundations but to me it's worth it. If you apply too much (and it's very easy to overdo it since it's so concentrated) it will look unnatural and mask-like. You'll only need approximately 1/4 of what you think you'll need. Maybe even less.
For reference: my skin is combination and somewhat breakout-prone. No breakouts with this foundation, but it's not the very best for oil control (but to me it's not a problem to blot once or - in hot and humid weather - twice a day to keep the shine away). continued >>
Ick! This product really didn't work for me. First of all, i was very dissapointed to find that while samples come in .07 oz tubes, you actually only get half of that in product (NOT noted on the who's the fairest website). So already i'm thinking what a waste of money. Then I try it on...as a concealer, I wasn't a fan. And as a foundation...eww! Even a miniscule amount mixed with moisturizer made me look greasy and unnatural, and made my pores look bigger. Oh, and i know this isn't supposed to happen with mineral makeup, but it broke me out!
This is more coverage than I like in a foundation, but as a spot concealer, it is amazing. It blends so evenly and smoothly, and works wonderfully as a cover up. Very good product that seems to have different uses for different people.
