this is my main mascara and it has been for awhile now. however i think that may change. i buy this in very black- which it is. this stuff makes my lashes look really long and it doesnt really clump. the wand doesnt bother me either. unfortunately it does flake like crazy. it gets in my eyes all the time and by the end of the day i have no mascara on. besides that, its good! but i think its time for something new

The soft black is gray...it's not black.

Very black version is better.

You have to clean the brush every few uses or it majorly clumps.

I used about 2 tubes and gave one away.

This is my absolute FAVORITE mascara, and I've tried many. I get so many compliments on my lashes with this and tell everyone I can to go BUY THIS!

This is the best mascara I've tried in a while. It doesn't clump and it doesn't give me raccoon eyes as badly as others. I just bought the waterproof version, and I'm hoping that will solve the smudging. Overall, I like it and will repurchase.

I like it... I get generally good results with it. It's a lot better than Great Lash, which is what my mom brought me up using. I had only ever used Great Lash before, so this brush is a huge improvement! And the bright green tube makes it easy to find in my makeup bag. I want to try a few other brands, but so far so good with this one.

Not the best, the bright green attracted me. It barely lengthens by lashes.

This review is for the green one ..I agree that this is a standart day mascara , but a good one at that .Seperates the lashes nicely and precisely without any clumps ..i don't quite get the reviewers that say this gives clumps, sorry ..(Dior Show Blackout or Bourjois Volume Clubbing, anyone?) I knocked off two stars tho, one for the slight raccoon eyes at the end of the day and second is for its really nothing very special and hardly lengthens the lashes .So its o-k-a-y and don't think i'd repurchase with so many new mascaras entering the market almost each day .

I have this in black/brown. I like the little bendy brush. It does clog at times and I don't think it defines all the lashes separately but it does a fairly decent job. It's easy to remove as well. It's more of a standard daytime mascara than anything dramatic.

I have always been a fan of maybelline mascaras and the Define-a-lash isn't any different. I love it! It works really well for me, I've never had clumping, it's not messy, and it really does what it says it will. Gives a nice perk to lashes!

I like this mascara, but it's not the best out there. For the money, it is great because it doesn't give me spider lashes and it doesn't clump. It might not be for you if you like to do multiple coats of mascara on your lashes--because I find things start to get messy if I do more than one coat. I usually can get by with one coat, so it's not a problem for me. I like it much better than Great Lash.
