Great for everyday use and for party. Blends easily and compliments my green/blue eyes. Satin Taupe looks great with Shale which is also from MAC.
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!!! This makes my eyes pop like no other. It's a beautiful, very wearable, greyish, plummy, brown shade. The staying power is good and with UDPP it does not budge. Holy Grail!
One of my first MAC eye shadows, I bought it on a whim when the MA told me there was only one in stock- it's a very popular color. Being a brown/neutral eye shadow kind of girl I picked it up and it has become a daily go-to item. I love that I can go dark and dramatic or soft and neutral with it & they both look great. Carbon in the outer v or Twinks paired with it has been the best results but I love it buy itself. It picks up gold and purple & is very multidimensional. A must-have IMO.

I've found that it goes on a little too purple for me. (Yes, I know it's supposed to be BROWN but it goes on purple on me for some reason). Since I HATE any kind of eyecolour that has even the slightest hint of purple in it I won't be using that as often as I would like. Hoping I'll be able to find out how to make this work for me since everyone else loves it so much.
UPDATE: I've taken a liking to the more plummy look for fall, so I've been using it more often and I'm very happy as it isn't a purple colour, and since it has such a brown base it gives me just the right amount of plum without being OTT. For reference, I find that a lot of brown shadows turn purple on me, so it must be something with my skin.... Because this is not a purple eyeshadow.
I love this color! I wear it a lot & gets compliments everytime. It is just perfect! My favorite eye shadow color!!!! Should be on everyones makeup!
I LOVE SATIN TAUPE!! by far my favorite eye shadow from mac, though to be fair i've only tried a handful of shades. I have fair skin and it's really, really hard for me to find shades that are appropriate on my skin tone, but satin taupe looks amazing! it's so neutral, and like the other reviews said it can easily go from day to night. I use it to line my eyes in the day, then apply it all over the lid if i'm in a hurry or put it in the crease for definition. so versatile! and easy to work with. i really can't say enough good things about this shadow. definitely worth the money, and if you're a beginning mac collector like me, this is a great way to go.
I really like this product on the lid with Carbon in the outer V, or even using vanilla on the lid and this color in the crease. It's very versatile... it can go on more sheer or with a heavier hand to give a more dramatic smokey eye look. Appropriate for the office, but can easily slip into nighttime with a darker shadow in the crease. Very pretty color! And goes with so many other eyeshadows.
One of my favourite browns from MAC, and my go to dark brown/taupe for neutral looks. I love the versatility of this shade. I can use it in the crease as to add some depth to lighter colours, or all over the lid for a nice brown smoky eye. It looks great with my green eyes.

So far, I'm not impressed.
I made the sinful mistake of not trying it on while at the MAC counter. I asked the lady for something new...so to be fair its not her fault & I only bought it as a pick me up, sadly the sales girl tried it on my hand with Hush. I liked the way it looked paired with the Hush eyeshadow. Of course she didnt sell me the Satin Taupe with Hush she sold me Dazzlelight. The Hush gave it a better effect.
Well i'll have to play around with this colour somemore to see what it works well with. Any suggestions...i'm very disappointed that its just a lighter shimmery version of my Bronze eyeshadow.
UPDATE: I've used this a few times yet I'm still not in love with this shadow. I use it when I want to do a day time smokey. Just putting it on the sides only. On my brown eyes I just look bruised if I put it in the crease or over the entire lid. I think this looks better with darker complexions. I prefer Maybelline Silken Taupe which is lighter and cooler taupe and almost a perfect dupe of Satin Taupe. Plus Maybelline is dirt cheap.
