First off, I love that it has a pump!
secondly, it really is longwear, it actually takes effort to clean it off my face at the end of my day.
I went snowboarding & this foundation stayed on my face even though I had wet snow, neck gators & goggles pressing all over it all day. It stays true to its name LONGWEAR.
My only gripe is that I'm usually NC25 in the winter & NC30 in the summer but the NC30 is sooo much darker than the NC25 in line. The color jump is pretty big so right now im a little mix of the two & i bought NC25 for the winter. I guess I will have to get REALLY tan for the summer to use NC30 because I also love the coverage it has on me!
My skin looks flawless & i do not need a concealer AT ALL. I just dab a little more foundation anywhere with a blemish & blend it right in. this foundation is considered medium coverage & can be built up to heavy without being too cakey. Also, its a natural finish.
I LOVEEEEEEEEE it
I like that this foundation, if applied correctly, can give a nice natural look that does last all day :)
but i couldnt give it five lippies cause the first two times i wore it, i broke out. this is my first MAC foundation. You really don't need a lot either, i just use one or half pump depending on the occassion. I apply dots on my face and then use a extremely dense flat top brush (Sonia Kashuk flat top multi purpose brush) and then lightly blend it in. It looks natural and i'm enjoying this foundation, even though i dont wear it every single day.
update: i wore it to practice&&where i practice its pretty humid! so sweat and even constant wiping of my face. and when i got home, my face still looked like it was when i left the house. and i put in on @ 7 in the morning && then i came home around 7. so amazing! obivousily i didnt put on a lot but enought to make my face look naturally flawless (if that makes sense @ all). anywho, definitely AMAZING!
I think i have finally mastered this foundation. For me(combo/oily/acne prone lately) I have to spray my face with something like fix+ or aveno water and i apply it with my fingers. i find using my fingers is the best method of application because the heat from my hands helps blend the foundation and looks flawless. it dulls down imperfections but doesnt cover them. i also found that if i dont completely take this foundation off, i break out pretty badly. overall this is a good foundation and would be second next to my ELDW light. really like both though
I have very oily T-zone, I put on my makeup on (studio fix fluid) like about 6:30am and would have to blot at about 9:00am and again at 12 because I was very shinny. After reading the reviews I thought I give it a try. Well I have to say that I don't have to blot like until the afternoon. It is really long wearing. After work I take college clases and my makeup looked great after the long day. Bye bye shine!!!
EDIT 03/28/12---I will absolutely NOT repurchase any Estee Lauder products until they choose to quit misleading their customers about animal testing.
This is a good foundation. It covers well. Builds up. Lasts. Hasn't broken me out and I have been using this for over a month. The color does not turn and it comes with a pump. The price is reasonable.
It looks as great as MMU does at its best except this lasts--it even holds up on the bridge of my nose where my glasses sit. Except for my lips, I never retouch my face throughout the day and I refuse to spend more than about 10 minutes on makeup from applying primer and letting it set to my final step which is always mascara. And don't think I don't spot check because I just can't believe it. MAC foundation: $28; Foundation Brush: $42; Not worrying about your makeup: priceless.
Wow, I'm impressed. This is officially my first ever MAC foundation and I'm happy with it. First thing I notice is that it totally counteracts and balances out my skin tone and the redness I get when I flush easily during the day. Now I don't look like I'm always blushing hahaha even after a run! I thought I would be an NC25 but was matched to NC30 instead and I think its yellowness totally cancels out what redness I have. So it's good ^^ I like to use this as a nice clean base all over the face and bring it down to my neck... then any spots just conceal. But lately I've been pairing it with Lancome Teint Miracle just around the centre of my face and set it with Maybelline Dream Matte Powder and I'm left with flawless face that lasts all day! Impressive!
EDIT: Colour changed/oxidised halfway through the bottle. Not happy with it. Asked MAC and none of the girls could give me an answer. Back to MAC it goes, not buying it again and not recommending anymore if it changes colour on its own like that and for some reason it feels stickier.
When I first started using this foundation I thought I'd discovered my new replacement to Mac Pro Lumiere. This has a lovely, satiny finish on the skin and keeps oiliness at bay all day whilst not looking to dry and matte on the skin.
However, after about a week of using this product I started developing really large spots around my chin and I have never had trouble with my skin before so this really got to me. I was pretty sure it may have been the foundation because before then there was never any problems.
Now I am having difficulty getting rid of the scars that these spots left me with and I wish I hadn't used this product, It looks great but I'm pretty sure this was the cause of my recent skin troubles.
This is expensive but worth every dime I love this product!!!!!! =)
I've been using this product for a few weeks now and I LOVE IT. At first I was skeptical to purchase this foundation because I get such bad break outs from MAC face products. But after a long hunt for the perfect foundation, I decided to try this out. Background: I'm filipina with golden undertones & I have EXTREMELY SENSITIVE semi oily skin with minimal dry areas. I know that I'm about an NC40/NC42, but after reading reviews about the shades being a bit off, I decided to go to the MAC counter to get matched...BAD IDEA. The first lady matched me to an NC30...I was like are you serious?! In the store it looked okay so I thought "Well maybe that's what they meant by the shades being off" Wrong. I stepped outside and my face was about 5 shades lighter than my neck. The second time I went in, they had matched me to an NW35. Again thinking "this is what they mean by the shades being off" I exchanged the NC30 for the NW35. Wrong again. My face looked like I smoothed self-tanner all over it. Maybe it was just an off day for the people working there because of the holidays or maybe they just didn't know what they were doing. Anywho, I decided to just match myself & picked up both NC40 n NC42 which was dead on. You don't need a lot to get medium coverage (I use 1.5 pumps for my entire face). I don't have anything too crazy to cover, just a little redness. I use a stippling brush to apply and it goes on like butter but dries to a satin matte finish with a subtle glow and does not feel heavy at all. It actually looks like my real skin. I only set the areas where I get oily the most with a translucent powder (MUFE HD) and it stays oil free all day but does not clog my pores; Finally a MAC foundation that doesn't break me out! Best of all, this foundation literally lasts forever. Also, it photographs really well and doesn't leave that white ghostly cast.
I have normal to dry skin. I have found that this product leaves a film on my face instead of blending in and looking natural. After 3 hours of wear it seems to just be sitting on my face, like all the liquid has been absorbed and the pigment has become like dust trapped on my face.
I am an NC42 in MAC. I chose it over the NARS because I found that it matched my skintone EXACTLY whereas NARS ( in syracuse) was a bit too brown. However NARS sheer glos blended in well and did not look like a residue of pigment on my face.
I really wanted to love MAC but I am going to play around with it for another 2days and if all else fails then I will have to return it.
If MAC changes it's formulation to correct that 'powdery film' then I will buy again.
Update: I returned my MAC and decided to get NARS sheer glow in Barcelona. I am soooooooooooooo happy now.
