I don't have a problem with the moisturizing capability of this cream. It is good, in fact a light moisturizer as the name suggests. Definitely not as greasy as the Nivea brand cream available in the blue jar.
The smell is hard to describe - metallic, ripe. Like some previous reviewers mentioned, it has a nauseating effect. I have also gotten headaches after using this cream. Additionally, this creme has all the possible parabens concoction, compared to the original Nivea creme.
I prefer the thicker version which also smells nicer (floral scent) - the original 'Nivea moisturizing Creme'.

Pros - light moisturizer. Not heavy or greasy.
Cons - horrible smell, several parabens and other chemicals in the ingredients, too light a moisturizer to really do anything good for the skin.

Okay, I hate when someone reviews a product the first day they buy it. I usually like to see long-time users who can truly boast about a product. BUT I had to sign on here and give you my thoughts on this wonderful cream.

I have really weird skin. It's sensitive, it's acne-prone, it's dry AND oily. Honestly, not much can make it happy. I ran out of my usual HG moisturizer (st. Ives timeless skin) and ran to Walmart to see that they were out. I found that this Nivea cream had the same texture as the st. Ives, so I crossed my fingers and purchased. It's been a little over two weeks now and all I can say is WOW. My skin has never looked better! It's so surprising how quickly this product sinks into my skin. The smell is great, it's very clean and not at all cloying (like ponds moisturizers are). The best part? NO BREAKOUTS.

This may actually be my new HG. Only time will tell.. ;)

****EDIT 1/28/2013*****
Finished my second tub. It's very great, but I still love the good ol' nivea creme. This is a great alternative for the summer months, but I think I will wait to repurchase when the temperature starts rising and the need for a thick cream vanishes.

Bought this in the little travel size tube and its an amazing product, i grew up putting the thick nivea cream in the dark blue container and i absolutely hated it but this one is a lottttt better! it applies soft and creamy and absorbs VERY quickly, does not leave the face shiny at all but does make it feel hydrated and moisturized. its not expensive at all and it not only works for the face but also hands and the rest of your body! i use this lotion before i apply my primer and makeup and it lasts most of the day! I am most definitely going to go back and buy a bigger size of this lotion!

Best hand creme I've ever used! I use it on my hands, arms and face, I love that it's gentle enough for my face which is sensitive. it goes on better than the original dark blue nivea creme, and it's lighter too.

This product and all the great reviews speak for themselves. It is super smooth and has a great smell. I love what it does with my skin! Even my parents love this so much more than the regular old school Nivea cream which goes on rather hard. This is the good old nivea cream formula only much much better! Would always buy this again!

With combination skin, I have tried many different expensive moisturisers. I'm skint at the moment and after buying Avene from Boots for £13 and being really disappointed with it's lack of moisture, I tried Nivea soft on my face which I had for my body moisturiser.

I really liked it - it's soft, refreshing, doesn't irritate my skin and really moisturises. I haven't noticed any more oil on my t-zone than usual, and it appears to work just as well as the more expensive brands, if not better.

A big jar of the cream is under £5 - bargain - and can be used all over. If you plan to use it just on your face, it would last you a very long time, so it's great value for money. Not sure whether they sell smaller tubs for travelling, but would be worth investigating.

The reason I have given this 4 out of 5 is that despite the cream not creating any more oil on my t-zone, it hasn't completely removed the oil and I still need to blot my nose later in the day. But I would rather that than the drying sensation that combination moisturisers sometimes cause.

My advice? Don't cake your face in this moisturiser as it's not needed, a little bit goes a long way, and give this a try before you spend more money on an expensive brand.

This is a good moisturizer, it has a great texture. It's much lighter than the classic Nivea Creme, which I find way too thick. It's also not greasy. My only beef is the smell. I don't think it smells bad at all, but the minute I put it on my face, I feel extremely nauseous. And if I leave it on I actually throw up. So that did not work for me. But if it wasn't for the smell, I would like it. Great price, love the small travel sized package, and light but moisturizing.

Having used every face moisturizer on the market for about 30 years - including the very expensive ones from Chanel, etc., - I have used Nivea Soft for about 1 year now and it is hands down the BEST. It smells wonderful - like a light rose scent. My complexion is always soft and has never looked better. This is as good as the most expensive ones you could buy in high end department stores - may actually be even better!

This is my face moisturizer, it's super moisturizing and makes my dry skin SOOOO soft for soo long :) I love the container, it doesn't test on animals andthe texture is like whipped almost. I don't rly love the smell and I wish they had an SPF version too but I have to say this is EITHOUT a doubt my HG face moisturizer :)

I LOVE the smell of this stuff, it's so nice. The texture is good for application on body and face and moisturises well (I have dry skin on my body and combination, sensitive skin on my face). I remember using this product on my face a few years ago on a regular basis and I noticed a significant improvement in the softness of my skin. I wouldn't use this as a daily moisturiser on my face now though as it's a little thick for every day use but I would use it when my face is feeling particularly dry or at night. The only downside is the packaging, I really dislike tubs where you have to scoop the product out, I prefer squeezy bottles or pump dispensers.

I have also bought a small tube to use as a handcream but I find it not as moisturising as I had hoped on my hands (I have dry skin on my hands with some eczema) but I was using L'Occitane before and it's hard to compare against that.
