After reading all the reviews on this product on The Body Shop's official website, I wanted to try it out so bad to see if it clears up my acne. Although this did clear up most of my acne on my forehead & oily t-zone, it also broke me out. =/ One pustule would form then it would go away and another pustule shows up...on and on. More pimples began to form under my jawline. All of this happened within a week of usage.I should have read the ingredients before buying this. I found out this wash has sodium lauryl sulfate, which is a very known/common skin irritant.
Very refreshing. This product feels amazing when I use body shops new face brush, and after I use the face wash my pores look emptied and clean. I love it. It has a cooling effect and if you have oily skin it drys it in a good way so no really recommended for people with dry skin. But overall it's affective :)
At the first usage, it really clean my exceed oil so my face wasnt so shiny. But after few months it seems not to work well as much as it was.
I really like this face wash. It cleanses my skin and keeps breakouts at bay. But I also think the reason this face wash works so well with me is HOW I use it. I first put a quarter size amount onto my hand and then rub both hands together until I get a really nice foam, then I apply the foam onto my face. I feel like this way the cleanser is a lot gentler and lightweight but it is still effective for treating breakouts. I know there's a foam version of this cleanser but it does not work nearly as well as this cleanser. I would recommend this with anyone with mild/moderate acne.
I do not have words to explain how much I love this product! It is by far One of the best face wash I've ever used! I have a very oily T-zone and had some blackheads on my nose area and this wash made all that go away! I have been using this along with the toner and the night lotion and it does wonders for my face! I literally have tried everything for my oily T-zone and this product made my oily face disappear! My face used to get greasy within 30 mins top after doing my makeup and after using this followed my MAC's prep+ prime my face has looked amazing! Everyone at my work noticed and compliment me a lot. I work at a Golden Corral and working in the bakery sucks do to the heat and I would come out a mess outta there but now my makeup looks perfectly fine do to this little guy along with the toner and night lotion. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone with oily skin! People with dry skin should stay far away from it though because this will dry you out a lot more! I love this product and I will DEFINITELY be re-purchasing this!
I love love LOVE this face wash! The smell is so great and I love the fact that it gives you that cool sensation after washing your face. It does a great job of removing oil but it tends to be a little drying if you use too much. As for acne control goes, I don't see much of a difference. This wash is a little pricey but I still love it because one bottle can last me for quite a while! Would definitely repurchase until i find sth better.
I hate this product so much. It really broke me out. Before I was using Biore's blemish ice cleanser and decided that I should switch up my make up. Worst mistake. I got so many break outs on my forehead and on my skin, just no. It was horrible. When I switched back, most of it disappeared. I was recommended the entire line from my friend who has PERFECT skin and she says she swears by this product. I think she just has naturally beautiful skin because this was so terrible. Also some of my other friends have tried this and hate it as well. I have the entire line in my bathroom cabinet still and it is almost full. It was pretty cheap since I got it on sale but whatever, still not worth it. Packaging is bad too, I personally prefer bottles with the pump. Would totally not buy this ever again and wouldn't recommend.
I started using this face wash about 8 years ago. I always bought other face washes, but somehow always came back to this one. I have very oily skin, and this wash feels like it cuts through grease and leaves a nice clean face. I won't say that it necessarily clears up acne, but with consistent use it, it keeps acne away. It is drying, that is true. I have oily skin though so I have no issues with it. I usually follow up with a moisturizer. For the past year, I have not been using this daily...what I do is: switch between a scrub wash (st ives) or organic wash (juice organics brightening cleanser) and I save this tea tree oil wash for those times that I really need a cleansing for my oily face. It lathers up very nicely. I find that my face gets used to products and then becomes sort of immune to them. This trick allows me to use the tea tree oil face wash and expect a good result every time. It is perfect for those humid summer days when my face constantly feels greasy. The minty cooling feeling it has on the skin is also very soothing. If you're thinking about trying this product, go to The Body Shop and ask for a sample. They are usually very generous and will give you enough to last you 3-5 days. If you decide to buy it, it will last you a long time. It costs just as much as some of the popular drugstore brands, but instead of a small tube, you get a big bottle. Worth the $!
Incredibly drying. This actually exacerbated my breakouts to an unbelievable degree and I started getting deep, under the skin nodules as a reaction to how harsh and irritating this cleanser was.
If your skin is combination or has ever displayed any sensitivity or tendency to overdry, stay far away from this face wash. I literally had the worst skin of my life during the month that I tried this cleanser and felt too ashamed to go out anywhere. AWFUL.
I used this for about a year before realizing that it wasn't worth it. My skin is usually pretty clear, but I have breakouts once or twice a month. This never helped my skin. And it didn't help my SO's acneprone skin either. But using the full set made me feel like I was doing something good for my skin. I finally decided to throw it away when I realized it had color dye in it. Seriously? Why do I need green dye in my skin care products?
