Excellent product that can be used on face, lips, hands, body! I was afraid to use it on my face because I have sensitive/combo skin but I tried it one night and it did not break me out!!! Just left with very soft, smooth skin when I woke up. It is a very heavy cream that does not absorb immediately. It takes a little bit of time to get use to the texture. It has saved my skin in the harsh winters of Chicago. I always apply a thin layer before I go running too. My skin never dries out. I knew a lady who used this and even in her 60's had the most smoothest skin I had ever seen! Bravo Nivea Creme! I like the Nivea Soft as well, but find that that I like the original one much more because it is more hydrating for my skin type. No wonder it has been around for so long! I have only tried the Mexican Nivea and I really love it. I have the German version on order and will update as soon as I get it:)

EDIT: 11/27/2012 - I finally got a chance to experience the German version! It does seem to be a bit more creamy and absorbs a bit more quickly. However, I notice whenever I use the German version on my face, my skin breaks out (I must be the only one!) but the Mexican version I do not find this happening. So test to see which version works better for you:) After some experimentation, the best method I have found to apply this to my face is to leave my hands slightly damp, scooping out a bit of creme, rubbing it between my palms, then patting it on my face. It rubs so much easier this way without any tugging! A spectacular creme that is so affordable (I love the large 13.5 oz glass jar!) and helps my skin remain calm, moisturized and clear!

Edit 4/24/13: I had to stop using it on my face:( After some time, it seemed to cause milia. It ended up being too rich for my face but I love it for the rest of my body:)

My family has used this for years. It's a really great, moisturizing product. I like the packaging, it's in a metal blue tin with the word Nivea in cursive on top. The smell is iconic. It's really moisturizing for heels, hands, elbows, or even lips. Basically it's great for anything. I definitely recommend it! :)

This is cheap and effective. What more is there to say ? It is a great product for winter especially when you get those areas that are so dry they hurt. You can even use it under your eyes. This is very thick, yet It has never broken me out (even though the ingredients seem like they would be comedogenic and I have been under a derm's care for acne for YEARS). My relatives from Europe even use it on babies because it is so non-irritating. The fact that it is super cheap and easily available is definitely a plus as well.

The only down side I can say is that it comes in a pan you have to dip your finger in, which is not the most hygenic dispenser I can think of. It also does have a light scent which does not bother me but might annoy someone who is sensitive to such things.

I didn't expect to love this, but I was getting desperate about my flaky skin, so I gave it a shot. I bought a giant tub of it, and it was like the missing link in my skincare routine. Now I use Retin-A on Night 1, Walgreen's AHA lotion on Night 2, and this creme on Night 3. Then I repeat. Once a week or so, I use Olay Microdermabrasion scrub before applying this for a really good exfoliation/moisturizing combo that makes my skin GLOW. This has almost completely neutralized my dry skin. My only possible complaint is that it smells kind of medicinal to me, but that's not a serious problem, especially as I never wear it out of the house-- it's strictly a nighttime thing. Highly recommended!

Great basic moisturiser, provides a nice light moisturisation, great for after exfoliating. My mother uses this for anti aging and absolutely swears by it, and to her merit she does look 7 years younger than she is. Cheap as chips and lasts forever, I recommend this to anyone.

I am so excited about using Nivea Creme as an under eye moisturizer. I have worked as a licensed cosmetologist specializing in skin care for the past 9 years. I have had access to professional products and found nothing that works as well as Nivea cream. My eyes can become very dry and basically old looking when seasons change. I use Aveda Green Science eye cream, Philosophy Miracle Worker, Clinique Moisture Surge...etc... Nivea has knocked my socks off!! I have used it as a hand cream, but now, will use this as under eye creme forever!!

Update: I've moved onto using coconut oil for under my eyes as well as for my body (more cost effective reasons than anything). I still stand by my original review for this product, though, and won't hesitate to repurchase during emergencies. The little blue tins are staying with me for hand cream during harsh Canadian winters!

-----------------------------------

The texture of this creme is very thick, and it has the classic floral Nivea smell. I use it on my body and it does require some warming up between the hands or elbow grease to work in into your skin. It doesn't spread as well as the thinner lotions on the market, but that's what gives it such a moisturizing effect. If you apply too much, it will feel oily and your skin will have a slight sheen to it. However, since I've moved further north in Canada, nothing else will keep my skin moisturized.

I make sure to apply after shaving to keep my sensitive skin protected, and I also dab it under my eyes as an intensive moisturizer. I used it on my acne-prone, combination skin as well for over 6 months with no issues, but I prefer the Nivea Soft for this ultimately as it is lighter for under makeup application. I carry a little tin of this around as hand creme as well, and it has done wonders for an eczema patch that has been cropping up in times of stress/weather changes.

This creme can be found at any drugstore or grocery store. The lowest regular price I've seen it retail for is $10.99CAD at Superstore. However, it goes on sale quite regularly for about $8. One 400mL tin will last me well over 10 months will daily application on the arms, legs, and under my eyes. Nivea's parent company Beiersdorf is bound by the European animal testing ban law soon to go into effect. However, their policy has been to not test for years, so it's a definite bonus and repurchase criteria for myself. You can't go wrong with a staple such as this creme - at $0.99 for a trial tin, what is there to lose?

I got the european version in 400ml for about 5 dollars - thats under 1 dollar for 1.6oz.
I use to use very expensive creams/serums like Sisley etc. And this cream is just as good - or actually better! It firms, plumps and keep my face moistured all day. For under a dollar for a months use day and night! How good is that :)
I got sensitive normal to dry skin. It hasnt make my skin break out.

UPDATE: Still love it. The best cream ever!!
No more expensive products, when this cream deliver better!
Better than Sisley, Chanel, Dior, La Mer, Estee Lauder and all the others I have tried!!!

I bought the little travel tin size from Ulta on a whim. I like the packaging, very compact and easy to travel with. I use it mostly as a hand cream, and on my elbows or knees in an emergency. I always carry regular lotion around, but nothing ever seems to really work on my hands. Some of the commenters mentioned the tin version is unsanitary, which it is, but I only use it on my hands after using a anti bacterial gel. This formula is very thick, very heavy, I cant believe people use this on their face! I suppose it would be good for someone who has a very dry face, Im really oily so I think this would irritate my skin a lot. The creme keeps my hands hydrated and feeling soft, it was only like 3$ for the tin, so I will probably repurchase.
