I only own three MAC lipsticks and I bought all of them from allcosmeticswholesale.com (not affiliated) at $12.99 each plus S&H. Had I known MAC lippies were $14 each, I would have just purchased them all locally, but I didn't. I thought I was getting a deal buying them from the site, but whatevs. High Tea is deceiving on the tube. It looks like it's going to frost your lips, but it doesn't. It's basically a sheer champagne-y nude, in my opinion. I'm an NC 37-40 and it looks like nothing on my lips which I'm sure is silly once you really think about it. I like it though and I especially like the cakey/vanilla scent inherent in MAC lippies. Smells alot like Palladio lipsticks (available at Sally Beauty Supply and Ulta). $14 is a bit pricey for me because I find that I need to reapply this lipstick often. I like that it glides very easy and feels moisturizing on the lips, but I doubt I will repurchase this lipstick any time soon.
This is my favorite MAC lipstick and the only one I've ever used an entire tube of and had to repurchase. It's the perfect color for girls who are a little tan. I love love love this color. It's kind of like a nude but better, plus it's shimmery.
Wonderful nude color without looking washed out. I layer a very light coral/nude gloss over this and voila! I normally gravitate towards pink bases glosses and lipsticks, but I've recently learned to do the smokey eye so nude lips are better for that. I'm very happy with this color and will def be purchasing once this one runs out.
Beautiful nude/pink color w/slight shimmer (Asian w/yellow undertones-NC30). Got Patisserie first but it washed me out cuz too gold so I got High Tea instead cuz more pink. I wear w/ MAC Suculture liner to give it a bit more color so I don't risk looking washed out. Looks fab with a bronzey smokey eye.
I agree with the previous reviewer.. this is a sandy pink with bronzey/beige mix.. I don't feel it is a shimmer or overlay -- it seems part of the lippie.
which is good.. it is a lovely color and will work well on most skins, imo.
I was looking for a nude lipstick and found this one. I really like it I think its perfect...not too light. I would say its a sandy color with a touch of pink.
This is a great neutral shade for anyone! I used to wear this every day in the summer, especially at work. It was perfect especially because I tend not to wear any foundation in the summer, just a light amount of bronzer and blush. This was a good addition since it didn't look like I was wearing heavy lipstick. I would always have people commenting on how my lips looked shimmery.
It is a lustre formula so not very pigmented, but I would say that if you like something that lasts a little longer than a lipgloss but is still slightly shiny/moisturising, this is it.
I originally got this in a Back 2 MAC and then re-purchased it after that. I will probably get a new one for this summer as well!
This my HG nude lipstick. I had a hard time finding a nude lippie that did not make me look like a dead fish (think Myth, omg scary). I tried Blankety, Creme d 'Nude, same thing. Just blah, nothing special and drowned me out. So I went strolling by my MAC counter for an e/s and the MA had such pretty lips, asked what she used and it was High Tea with Love Nectar on top. I already had Love Nectar, love it so tried the lippie and had to have it. My lips are pigmented very pink so this color really neutralized the pink but not so much that I got the dead fishy look, prob cause its a lustre. But it is a gorgeous nude color with slight shimmer that you would not notice on your lips, not frosty. Very neutral and looks great w/ just about any makeup you have on. I will continue to purchase this.
I usually always do a nude pale lip. I have a lot of Mac favorites, Creme De Nude, Siss, Peachstock, all which are on the opaque side. Sometimes you need just a casual nude look for a less made up look. I went to my Mac counter the other day to try several Lustre colors on. I have to say, in the store High Tea looked a little blah. I loved the way it looked in the tube though. I read many of the reviews of it and so many of you guys w/my coloring loved it. I figured the best way was to buy it and look at it in my bathroom lighting. (hate to return things, but it's an option). Rushed to my mirror when I got home and applied it w/Cork for a little definition then w/Oak for blending.......OMG, I really love it! Just the look and color I was going for. Glad I took a chance.
I love this lipstick, it is a great everyday pretty nude. Will always have this handy in my makeup bag. Don't really use it in my kit much as it is a little glossy so doesn't have as mush staying power as a matt lippie.
