I have dry skin, and I initially wanted to purchase Maybelline's Dream Smooth Mousse, but none of the stores I went to carried the complete range of colors, and being a pale-complected redhead I need the lightest shade. So I bought Dream Matte Mousse in Porcelain Ivory. I like Dream Matte Mousse, but there is a certain routine I have to follow to get it to look good. I have to apply it directly after cleansing and moisturizing, because the moisturizer on my face gives the foundation a little more slip. I need to wear a primer under it (currently I'm using L'Oreal's Miracle Blur, which I like). With Dream Matte Mousse, a little goes a long way. I dot it on each cheek, and on my chin, forehead, and nose, and then I blend the foundation with a slightly damp sponge. The foundation color looks a little too dark in the jar but on my face it looks fine. It holds up all day and wears well. It provides medium coverage and it does make my skin look better. Not bad for an inexpensive foundation. I'd repurchase it.

At first I loved this product and the way it applied it felt great on my face and once i used a primer under it, it stayed on all day. I used it everyday for awhile until one day it started breaking me out like crazy! Now my skin is no sensitive I work in the theater and all that bad stuff they put on my face never breaks me out but this product broke me out so badly! Probably the worst breakout I ever had. I love the idea behind this product and the execution but something about the formula just isnt good. This was only my skin and you might experience different outcomes but just a warning!
BTW USE PRIMER UNDER THIS PRODUCT IT STAYS ON SO MUCH BETTER!
Decent coverage but for acne prone skin its not the best. Also, if you have dry skin like me dead skin comes through the foundation and it looks horrible! There isn't much product in the little jar but a good tip is to use a foundation brush to pick up the product and apply using this method as your fingers will pick up a lot more of the product. Stays on your skin as long as you set it right. May buy again.
When I first used the Dream Matte Mousse, I used it on its own and didn't like it very much. The next time I used it, I put it on over my primer and LOVED it. On its own it tends to accentuate pores and dry skin, but with a primer it goes on flawlessly and looks great! Provides medium/full coverage without looking cakey. The best part is it doesn't break out my acne prone skin. It makes my skin feel silky smooth when wearing it. One of the ingrediants in it is jojoba oil, which is great for your skin.

When my skin was at combination skin i loved this it was the right consistancy but when it came to the winter months my skin was really dry and the dry flaky parts on my skin came through the foundation and it looked terrible on my skin and also when i got to half way through the foundation i noticed wierd white dots in the foundation and i dont even know what it was! But overall this is a pretty good foundation unless you have dry skin! But i dont know if id repurchase it?

I started using Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse when I was looking for a foundation for my acne-prone, oily skin. Liquid foundations don’t give me enough coverage, and believe me as I have been through tons and tons of different types of foundation. But when I came across Dream Matte Mousse, I thought I’ll try it out as it’s not a liquid but a mousse. The mousse itself goes on the skin smoothly and it covers EVERYTHING. I have repurchased the colour “Sun Beige” for about two years now and it’s one of those products that I will SUE Maybelline for discontinuing it. The Dream Matte Mousse does NOT give me any breakouts and I feel my skin is baby soft when I apply it. I always applied it with a Kabuki brush and it just goes on flawlessly. It’s worth every penny.

I had heard a lot of people say this was the best mousse foundation found at the drugstore,so i decided to buy it. Their really was no color variety and i grabbed a medium color, nice coverage a little on the heavy side though.
PROS:
-good coverage
-smooth glides on good
-nice matte finish
CONS:
-looks like ur wearing a mask
-makes u look clownish
I don't recommend this if you have dry skin.. especially in the winter (I don't know what I was thinking!)
It keeps me oil free, is just a tad bit darker than my shade, and gives a nice finish, but after I started using it I started getting dry patches everywhere! Might just be the winter times, but maybe..
I'll use this for a little bit after I get my skin back together. However, for the time being, I wouldn't buy this product again.
PROS -
-Mattifies
-Nice matte finish
-Fairly close to my shade
CONS -
-Dry spots EVERYWHERE.
Pros:
-Lightweight consistency
-Matifying
-Smooths pores
-Good colour range
Cons:
-Crumbles upon application
-Can sometimes be "dry" in appearance
Overall, I was disappointed by this foundation. It does mattify however, which could be beneficial for oily skin, but the texture of the foundation is so hard to work with. When I applied it, it immediately crumbled and balled up on my skin. It did smooth out my pores, but left a dry looking texture to my skin.
