Sigh....I had a rather long review of this, but decided to just get to the basics...PROs/CONs... this is yet another foundation that will be returned.

PROs -
applies easily

is thin but buildable

if you get the right shade (see CONs) it will even out your skin tone nicely

did not dry out my dry skin, but I only had it on for about 5 hours (put it on after work before I went out for dinner.)

CONs -
took me three tries to get the right shade although I used both the online L'Oreal site AND the in store color match thing

faded after about 5 hours, but it does not claim to be long wearing

completely clogged the pores on my nose, looked horrible after a few hours..I have never had this happen with a foundation before

the bottle really needs a pump, cute bottle but does not feel sanitary

was a bit luminous at first, but nice finish which turned a little greasy over the course of 5 hours -- I have dry skin so I can only imagine what this does to someone with oily skin

I have very very pale skin, too pale for 99% of all drugstore and high end foundations. Even most light shades are too dark. I bought this in W1, and it was the PERFECT match. Exact same color as my skin. I loved this the first time I used it because it just looked so good. I set it with my Rimmel Stay Matte powder and about 3-4 hours later my skin was a nasty, oily mess. It feels gross to the touch. My seond complaint about this is that it broke me OUT! Not a lot of big red ones (I did have a few though) just little, but very visible, bumps where my pores were so clogged. This happened after about 2-3 uses. I just love that this matched my skin so well. It may work better in the winter when my skin is drier.

I bought this foundation in an attempt to reduce the breakouts that were coming from L'Oreal's Visible Lift foundation. It claimed that it was oil-free and had a variety of different color matches, and therefore I thought I'd give it a shot.

COVERAGE & OVERALL FINISH:
The coverage of this foundation is relatively light, although it can be built up to a strong medium coverage. True Match is relatively good at covering scars, but you'll need a concealer if you have blemishes as this foundation won't cover them.

The overall finish of this is so-so. It looks great when first applied (as most foundations do), but after two to four hours it starts to look really splotchy and generally bad-looking. It'll likely stay on your face for over six hours without sliding off or fading, but don't expect it to look good after a long day--especially if you had to layer it.

COLOR:
I purchased True Match in "W1" Porcelain, and this was an all right match for me. In certain lights it makes my face look orange, though, which is especially frustrating when I'm in public or with friends. Next time I'll be purchasing this foundation in Alabaster to see if this is a closer match.
Overall, I believe anyone could find a shade that matched their skin in this line--it's one of the only redeeming qualities of this foundation.

STAYING POWER:
As I stated before, this foundation only looks good (on me; it may be different for others) for about four hours. After that, it seems to get extremely splotchy and sinks into my pores.
Depending on your specific skin type, expect to get four to seven hours of good wear of out this foundation before it begins looking bad and/or noticeable.

OIL CONTROL:
This is one of the worst things about True Match: the oil control is terrible and almost nonexistent. I begin getting oily after an hour or so of wear, and it only gets worse throughout the day. I find myself re-powdering my face every thirty to forty-five minutes, which is such a hassle.
I do want to note that I normally have oily skin, but this has been one of the worst foundations I've ever used in terms of oil control. Those with normal or combination skin may have better success with this.

PACKAGING & CONSISTENCY:
The packaging and consistency of this foundation is pretty bad. The foundation is extremely runny and I find myself wasting some of it every time I use it. This definitely took some time to get used to.

True Match doesn't come with a pump, which is both frustrating and messy. However, I didn't expect it to come with one as it was only $8.

FOR THOSE WITH ACNEIC SKIN:
I'm extremely breakout prone and have moderate active acne at all times. In addition, I also have extensive acne scarring.
This foundation is one of--if not the only--foundations that *doesn't* cause moderate to severe breakouts after being taken off, and this is the only reason why I stick with True Match.
I have been through a half dozen foundations in the past two years (Neutrogena, Revlon, CoverGirl, Estee Lauder, L'Oreal, etc.) and most of these have caused moderate to severe breakouts after being taken off. However, L'Oreal's True Match only causes a small breakout as opposed to the moderate/severe ones I was getting with other foundations.
Conclusively, I DO recommend this for those of us that are extremely acne prone.

OVERALL REVIEW:
This certainly isn't the best foundation (drugstore or high-end) but it's certainly not the worst, either.
It's best qualities are the color match and the fact that it's oil-free (therefore causing little to no breakouts), and at $8 you won't cringe when you have to purchase another bottle.
Its worst qualities are the fact that it has little to no oil control, wears down quickly, and has the ability to look incredibly splotchy in a matter of hours.

To be completely honest, I wouldn't recommend this foundation to ANYbody if it weren't for the fact that this causes little to no breakouts. That is literally the only reason I wear this foundation.
If you have normal, combination, or dry skin and don't have much of a problem with breakouts...keep looking. There's much better foundations out there.

okay so here is the thing, I got this in a sample size. I really like it, The color match is right on and its, well, super blendable =) but reading the reviews here, a lot of ladies saying its very thin and watery. The one I have is the sample size and is very thick. almost like a mousse, so thick that the top has a plastic stick (for lack of a better word) attached, to scoop it out of the bottle, and that's one of the things I like, that its so thick, but applies smooth and blends nicely with med coverage.. so maybe ill stick to the samples as long as I can find them at Conway 1.99 for 3 sample sizes.

I bought this foundation when I was on holiday in UK and had forgotten my make up bag (OMG). It was the only foundation I could find in my colour. When I first put it on it looked really pale, but over like 10 minutes it had adapted to my skin colour and looked really nice. After like 2 weeks of using it though, my skin became spotty and dry around my nose and mouth. Ew, this has never happened before. I have carried on using it though as gives really good coverage, but now I have to use all sorts of spot treatments and home made face masks...huge effort! I would buy another foundation but I live in Turkey and we get honestly like no good foundations. So I kinda love this foundation as gives good coverage and everyone always compliments my skin (really!?) when Im wearing it. But also kinda hate it for doing this to my face! And also it stays on even when doing a huge workout at the gym. Unless you sweat alot then it gets a little streaky! Also the bottle is ok, but the pump always gets a little clogged up.

After reading great reviews on this foundation i decided to give it a try. the great thing about it is that it goes on smooth and sheer with buildable coverage. However, i tried a few colours but i could not find a great shade for my skin tone. i have a very golden undertone and even the warm shades goes ashy on me. We don't have lots of color options in Canada unfortunately. :-(
Will wait for more color options before i buy again.

First liquid foundation that I bought, recommended by a friend. It does its job and that's that. It does make me feel caked up, but it does its job. Feels heavy on my face by the end of the day...

I have tried various foundations from Revlon, Maybelline, and Rimmel, but I have to say that L'Oreal's true match makeup is my favorite drugstore foundation, and one of my favorite liquid base makeup formulations overall (that's including BB creams, tinted moisturizers, powder/cream/liquid foundations) for coverage, shade match, finish, staying power, breathability, ease of application, and a little sun protection to boot.

I matched to W4 Natural Beige. This line of foundation has the widest shade selection I've seen at a whopping 32 shades spanning warm/yellow/olive, neutral, and cool/rosy/pink undertones. It's fairly easy to match shades to the inside of your wrist while browsing in-stores because the bottle is clear and the shades are true between in-bottle and on-application, with little-to-no oxidation. It gives even, natural-looking, medium and buildable coverage (not dewy, not too matte), it's not exactly lightweight but it still feels comfortable to wear, and it lasts 8+ with setting powder over it.

It also does not smell strong—in fact I can't smell anything from the bottle—compared to foundations from Revlon, Maybelline, and Rimmel. It's a little surprising it doesn't even smell like sunscreen, because it has a decent amount of sun protection ingredients backing its SPF17 (still recommend an actual sunscreen product underneath). The formula is oil-free, but as someone with combo-oily skin, I normally find myself blotting at least once during the 8 hours that I try to stretch my wear over. This foundation sets well though and doesn't transfer while I'm blotting.

At $7–11 for 1oz (30ml) of quality product, this foundation is my happy medium between the cost effectiveness and lightweight wear of Maybelline foundations and the coverage and staying power of the more expensive Revlon foundations.

I love this foundation. Ive been searching for a foundation thats light enough for my skin. I have extremely fair skin and was delighted to find a foundation thats fair enough. I bought the porclain W1 , compared to mastermatch mac 01 which is sopposed to match to your skin tone which just gave a yellowy line between my neck and face. This however is cheap and a awesome fair skin shade. the packaging could be improved with a pump makes it more hygenic.
