Love this foundation! Lightweight but full coverage. Amazing!! N4 when pale and n6 when tanned :-)
Oh L'Oreal True Match....probably one of the most popular foundations on the market. If you haven't heard of this product, you were probably born yesterday. I think just about everyone who has ever tried makeup from the drugstore has tried this foundation and I am definitely among those people. I have always wanted to love this foundation. The shades are *actually* fair enough to match my skin tone, you can buy this at the drugstore so it's fairly inexpensive and easily accessible, what could I possibly not love? After purchasing about 6 bottles of this and never having success, I can tell you what there is not to love. The foundation transfers, clings to dry patches but manages to look oily, has an atrocious amount of glitter, blends so well that is blends away entirely and comes in the dreaded pumpless package. I felt this way for a long time up until I tried my seventh bottle of this foundation. Being so fair, I had always worn (or tried to wear before returning it to the store) shades W1 or N1 of this foundation and on my seventh purchase of this foundation I had went to the drugstore to get foundation for my theatre class and picked up the shade W8 which is the darkest shade in the warm line. I chose it simply because it was on sale and when I applied it, it was a completely different experience. The foundation was liquidy but creamy, blended flawlessly in to my skin, didn't contain a hint of shimmer, glided over my dry patches like they didn't even exist, didn't need a touch up for 5 hours and gave me a very healthy and boosted looking complexion. I had absolutely no idea what to think of it. Two foundations of the exact same formulation, both 'superblendable with SPF 17'- the light shade being a complete nightmare and the dark shade being every foundation junkie's dream. I'm not sure whether or not based on trying that one shade that I can say all of the dark shades in this line are going to work just as well but I would highly suggest giving them a try if you have darker skin since this is one of the few lines that caters to darker skin tones and the dark shade I tried was incredible. Unfortunately if you have very fair skin like myself, this foundation is just not worth your money. Very odd indeed.....
Purchased this foundation after being told by the lady at the cosmetic counter that it was their best selling foundation. The texture is very fluid and I agree on it being superblendable which is a positive as my skin can tend to be dry. There was also a good range of colours. On initial application it looked great but less than an hour or so later it was a different story. It oxidised and left me looking orange,it sank into every pore and fine line and my face was greasy and shiny looking! The bits that didn't sink in came off on everything, the screen of my phone had to be wiped after I had used it whilst wearing this product,I hugged my fiancé and it went all over his shirt! My second True Match mistake, the first was the mineral foundation but different formula same ugly results for me. Would not buy again.
I'm surprised that a L'Oreal foundation is so bad - most other drugstore foundations better than this. The color selection was good - but that was about it.
It didn't feel smooth going on, and it didn't look good when I put it on. It caked around blemishes and a few dry patches on my skin. My skin looked oily after a short time. I tried touching up with powder and ended up making a cakey mess.
I couldn't wait to wash this stuff off at the end of the day. I don't recommend it.
so.... i don't normally use foundation because of the horrors i experienced here. So.... the color match was good.... check positive. but after a couple hours i looked supremely shiny and even as combination skin... I'm not that shiny. by the end of the day my cheeks had little bumps formed plus one deep red painful one and small bumps were forming on my forehead. it certainly looked beautiful when it first went on but i will trash what's left and never buy again
I love how well this fits my skin tone, but with my combination skin it's transferring to anything that touches my face. Very embarrassing if you hug people at a wedding. I learned that I need to set it with a powder if i want to wear it at a special occasion but for every day i prefer to use something with additional skin benefits like tinted moisturiser or beaty balm.
It's a good drug-store foundation, but i wouldn't say "omg it's the best" because honestly it isn't. Even maybelline have better drugstore-foundations. And why not spend more money to make your work skin?
i have normal skin and honestly my skin got very dry, and for that to happend the makeup has to be really bad. I don't recomend this for people with dry skin or with acne problems. Perfect for oily skin.
This foundation a pretty good. I normally only use name brand foundations but a friend of mine who is a makeup artist uses this and recommended it. It blends so well on my skin and gives good coverage also. The only down side is that it's not really oil controlling and the bottle doesn't have a pump so I feel like I waste product. I have purchased this foundation twice now and will continue to use it as long as it doesn't make me breakout. I have yellow undertone and a foundation is sometimes hard to find so I'm sticking to this. I'm a W6 and use NC35/40 on Mac foundation (depending on the season)
I tried this foundation because it comes in the exact shade of my skin tone. It also goes on well and looks truly natural. However that's where the positives end for me. This foundation caused me to break out in the most horrible, huge, red, painful and deep cystic acne!! Yuck!! I had to go to the dermatologist to get that fixed and my skin went back to normal since I stopped using this foundation. Also, in the end I was going to throw this in the trash but it slipped out of my hand by accident and the whole glass bottle smashed into pieces and there was liquid foundation everywhere. Just the worse experience ever. Never touching any True Match products ever again!
Okay so after a month of trying this raved about product Iv'e come to the conclusion that this is a HORRIBLE foundation, at least for me that is. So i do have combination skin but i never really get THAT oily, well after a few hours of applying this foundation my face looked as if i poured oil all over it, it was so disgusting and to make matters even worse, the foundation cakes up all in my T zone looking streaky, patchy and just horrid. Another problem i had with this foundation was the fact that although they do have many different shades this foundation does not cater to lighter yellow undertones at all which i had hoped for. And my final issue with this product is the fact that is breaks me out like no other foundation ever has. The only good thing i do have to say about this product is it does look beautiful right when you apply it and feels natural it's just a shame it can't stay like that.
