I hate the fragrance in this, but my roommate loves it. I put this on today after taking a break from it for a while and realized I don't like this as much as I thought. Although I have to admit I looked kinda flawless for about an hour after I applied (with EM over it too), my face looked like a WRECK soon after. As some other reviewers have noted, the foundation never seems to "set", and absolutely highlighted any kind of bump, fine line, or crease with shine. To make matters worse, something about this made the apples of my cheeks itch--almost like the inside of my pores were hot and irritated. I actually ran to the bathroom after my first class to try and scrub whatever I could off in that area because it annoyed me so much. My skin looked better BEFORE I put this on!
PROS: Dirt cheap, the only drugstore foundation I have found that sells a color match close to my yellow-undertoned skin (classic ivory I think?)
CONS: Bottle packaging makes spilling and waste easy (and "unhygienic" for you clean freaks out there), too-sheer coverage (slightly more than a tinted moisturizer), highlights imperfections, may cause irritation, caused a normal skinned girl to look oily, obnoxious fragrance
I hated this makeup... I wore it in high school when i didn't know much about makeup. i have very cool, pink undertones in my skin and every light color i tried was WAY too pink on me, believe it or not. it provided very sheer, weird looking coverage that made me look like i had a brownish- pink sheer blush all over my face. it also made me break out and even though it was extremely watery, it felt moist and gross on my skin, never drying down to any kind of staying finish. will nevvverrr by again! lol. it also oxidizes horribly and by the end of the day it looks orange on top of everything. this is the only foundation that has ever oxidized on me and i have oily skin.
I really tried to love and like this product but its gives me no coverage at all. Also putting on this foundation for me made my skin feel worse and dry then it already is. Also am I the only one or does this foundation smell weird lol... Dont think I will buy again :(
I really like this make-up. I've tried a ton of different foundations in the past but always found that they were way too expensive and didn't work well since most of them would dry out over time. I already have relatively dry skin and I like a bit of shine in my face in general, but other foundations were doing the opposite of what I wanted.
I tried this only because it was really cheap at a time I couldn't afford to buy expensive foundations, plus I had a good experience after trying another Cover Girl foundation (can't remember which one at the moment).
I bought this, guessed the shade, tried it and fell in love with it. I use the Classic Ivory and it matches my skin so well that you really can't tell that I'm wearing makeup at all. I have also tried the Natural Ivory but it's a bit too pink for my skin tone.
This foundation is extremely cheap ($4) for a standard 1oz bottle and lasts forever. The coverage is light to medium. I don't have skin problems so I don't need a lot of coverage. I love this foundation because it offers exactly that. Sometimes I mix it with my moisturizer to create a tinted moisturizer and wear it that way. It works wonderfully and lasts for hours. It also covers minor problem areas pretty well, but I'm glad that I don't have such issues.
I also love the fact that this foundation comes in an oil-free version. That is the one that I use. Even though I have relatively dry skin and I use moizturizers excessively, I still don't want to use makeup that's going to clog my pores. The only thing I don't like is the packaging. It comes in a glass bottle and once you get to the bottom, it tends to be difficult to get the product out of the bottle since the foundation is more creamy than liquid. You do have to shake it pretty hard upside down to get all the product out. Still, I'm not complaining since it's extremely affordable and a quality product.
I used this from like 12 or 13 years old all through my early twenties then tried a few others, I don't really try a million foundations and when I find one I like I stick with it. After using this I used colorstay by revlon and that was for a long time then sonia Kashuk (still using) but have used clean makeup once in a while on weekends here and there. Creamy Natural is a good match, actually it makes my skin look nice. I have mild rosacea and this has never bothered me, but I also use Noxzema.
As a newby, I spent hours on this website and realised I am not alone in my quest to find the perfect foundation! I tried this and bought it today due to the great reviews and then realised the great reveiws were for the fragrance free foundation not the one I bought. However, if you can get over the antiseptic/floor cleaner fragrance which actually doesn't bother me, this stuff is astounding for the few dollars it cost. It goes on with amazing ease and unless you get the wrong colour is extremely hard to apply badly. It gives fantastic coverage which is surprising considering how watery the consistency is and I have been using a full coverage Estee Lauder double wear for the last several years , so I am picky about coverage. I of course cannot comment just yet on its staying power or how it will hold its dewy appearance and colour but if it turns out badly then I have only wasted a few dollars. I am of course looking for a foundation that will give great coverage, make me look like a teenager, be undetectable to the naked eye , only come off with a sandblaster and makes me look thin and intelligent. If I can get that all for under 50 bucks that would also be good. Ideas anyone?
EDIT: I had to remove a lippie because even though it holds up spectacularly well for a cheap foundation and lasts all day, it drys the skin out which is surprising because it feels so moisturising when you first put it on. It may not be the best choice for those of us with any dry skin and it does have a tendancy to be a bit orange. Shame.
i've used clean make-up for many years and i find that it suits me well because my skin actually needs the heavy coverage that this foundation provides. I have really uneven skin tone, spots on my cheeks and chin from squeezing my zits when i was a teen (i know.. learned my lesson).. and using a concealer is just not enough to cover. I use my fingers to blend as i find it's alot faster to get full coverage. The only downside to this product is probably the smell.. smells like some weird chemicals.. goes away after 20 minutes though.. and yes, it'll look oily initally after you apply it.. but that's what powder is for. after applying foundation, I just dab on some pressed powder on places the shiny spots and i'm set for the rest of the day. It's not a suitable foundation for everyone, especially if you have pretty good skin already.
This makeup is nasty. It drips off you and smudges and just is far from pretty. It looks shiny, but when you matte it, it looks cakey. You can't win with this stuff. I will never buy this again. Ew.
This is a nice foundation that Ive never had any problems with. Its a cheaper choice of foundation as well.
I have this in soft honey and it's the PERFECT match for my tanned asian skin. Right now its summer and my skin tone is a little bit darker and oilier. This foundation is the perfect color for me and goes on light, coverage wise; the coverage is buildable. But still, It doesn't really cover up my blemishes and imperfections much.
Overall, it's just a really average foundation. It's nice, but I think I'll try something else next time; something that will keep me shine free longer; and something scentless. I don't like the noxzema smell.
