Bumble and Bumble surf spray is a very good product when it comes to achieving those effortless beachy waves we all covet. I got mine for $22 on folica.com, so although I really like it I might try some less expensive options before I repurchase. This product gives nice texture and volume but be sure to scrunch and twirl the hair to help form the waves. It also works great with a curling iron to keep define the curls even more. It can dry hair out a bit so be sure to use some sort of serum or conditioning oil like argan to prevent your hair from drying out too much.

Definitely not meant for straight hair. My hair isn't exactly thick and I found that this stuff weighed it down and made it feel a bit oily. I also used it quite sparingly. Not worth the money.

I found this product to fall somewhat short oft expectations. My hair felt heavy after using this and didn't work as well as I would have liked without heat. Without adding a shine sirum this left my hair feeling a little sticky. I've user much better products that add more texture then this did at a fraction of the cost without feeling sticky.
I used to love this stuff. It was perfect for me before I overprocessed my hair. Now that the bottom half is dryer and more damaged it makes it feel like straw. I have a body wave in (perm), very loose, tousled waves and this use to work until I fried my ends with color and perming. I prefer Maui wowie mist now by phillip b. it's less drying on my hair. i would definitely recommend this for healthier hair.

I was really excited to get this product after hearing so much about it. I purchased it for a hefty price tag, and when I went home to try it I was really disappointed. Maybe I haven't quite figured out how to use it yet? I have very long, straight hair, and I find that after I spray it in and scrunch, it feels crunchy and looks messy (not in the sexy, beachy way... just in the 'I havent washed my hair or brushed it' way). I also do not really care for the smell. I definitely do not think that it is worth the price
Love this spray and love the beachy smell. I have pretty straight, highlighted hair, with the barest hint of a wave if I air-dry, totally straight if I blow-dry. My hair is fine, and these days normal to dry from sun and coloring and middle age (it used to be super oily), and I have a lot of it. Because it's fine, it tends to get weighed down quickly. I wear it in a reverse, chin-length, layered bob.
Here's how I use it: I blow-dry my hair straight using a dollop of Korres Lime gel. After it's dry, I spray Surf Spray a couple of times into my hands, and toss my hair over my head and finger the product through my hair from the bottom layers up. Used this way, it gives my hair body and volume and it's slightly piecey.
It's a little drying, so I don't use it every day. (And for me, using it on wet hair and then blow drying is awful: super dry-looking and Brillo-y.) But it's great when I'm having one of those flat hair days or for special-casual occasions. Instant body and volume.
To save money, I tried making my own salt-water spray, but it wasn't the same. Made my scalp itch, my hair looked dull, and it was super drying.

This is the only product I have found for my fine, wavy hair that doesn't make it crispy or flat. I love it. I use it sparingly on wet hair and scrunch, and it gives my waves definition and shape without that '80s crunchy curl look. Occasionally I smooth a little Bumble & Bumble Grooming Cream on once it's dry, but really, this is the only product you need if you have fine, wavy hair. It won't weigh your hair down. Worth the price. continued >>

This product is a lifesaver for my thin wavy hair. It gives it volume and texture which is almost impossible. This product is worth every penny!

Wonderful product for my oily hair. Keeps my hair matte, when I use this I don't get the greasy look and I can skip washing my hair for 2 days. A miracle for me since I use to wash my hair everyday because of my greasy scalp. Does a great job mattifying and volumizing my hair. The smell reminds me of the beach. It's a little pricey for $23 but it lasts me 1 1/2 year so it's worth every bit. I don't use that much only about 3 squirts and I'm set and my hair looks great without me worrying.
I would definitely repurchase. Packaging could have been in a plastic clear bottle so I can see how much is left and the matte bottle is prone to attract dust or powder.
