But like all Maybelline products - if you have oily skin - forget it.
I blamed my skin for a long while until I figured out that Maybelline ingredients is the reason my foundation "melts" off by lunch hour.

Good color range, nice bottle, can be found at a good price.

I used to wear Lancome's Teint Idole before they changed the formula. Since the new formula didn't work out for me, I had to look for a new foundation. I tried the nars liquid foundation and it turned out to be too greasy and shiny. I also tried MAC and it felt too heavy. This one was just perfect. It's lightweight, perfect colour match, and the cheap price is just the cherry on the cake. It also doesn't have harsh odours/perfumes.

Definitely try this one out. I highly recommend it!

I bought this because it was on sale and I like to save money. I'm not usually picky on foundation. I've been using Rimmel Clean Finish for 2 years now since it's cheap and it worked for me. I just found that I needed to try something new.

I was disappointed by this, and if I read the reviews before I bought it I wouldn't have. It's feels oily. I don't have bad skin, and I rarely get pimples, but I like looking poreless and matte, and this foundation did not do that at all. It does not last and when I come back from being outside my face looks horrible. I'm tan and this foundation made my face look orange as it started wearing off. Not impressed at all.

The packaging is really nice and it looks like high-end almost. I wish it had a pump though, but seeing as it wasn't great at all, the pump wouldn't have fixed it for me.

Please don't buy this.

I'm 21, and this is my first foundation, no joke. I love beauty and skincare, but I always associated foundation with a number of unwanted affects like clogged pores and that look of obviously wearing makeup. I'm prone to acne so I was never interested in foundation for that reason also. Mostly all I use is a concealer with salicylic acid in it. I know you're supposed to use it on spots but I always ALWAYS use it on my whole face. So it's funny that I'm willing to drop around 5 or 6 dollars on concealer but when I see a $12 1 oz. bottle of foundation I'm like, "That's expensive!" Silly. So I see this for $5.99 at Meijer and I try it on in the Maybelline aisle. Of course makeup always looks different depending on the factor, I just like to get first impressions cus if it's bad enough I'll put a product back. I avoid products with fragrance if I can, but this foundation smelt so good! At the time.. That's like the only positive tho, cus it is a "5.99 for 1 oz" kind of foundation. Practically every reviewer said this made them oily.. that didn't happen to me. But it sorta felt like I was applying a liquid-powder and in the end it looked that way. Places that could be dry were. Especially the skin around the corners of my mouth, and my nose. Goodness my nose looked horrible upclose! I mean I fell asleep in the stuff and didn't wake up with any acne at least. Applied the stuff again and same thing happened. Dry spots. Plus now it smells like baby wipes as opposed to the indescribable scent from yesterday. The foundation does leave my face velvety soft though, and it's easy to blend like up in your hairline or close to your eyes without tugging and pulling at your skin. Would not buy the product again though, I was pretty much looking for a foundation exactly like the concealer I use (which is Almay clear complexion). Packaging quality, 4, because it looks expensive and it's a bottle you wanna have out. Plus you can reuse it forever, no need to throw it away. There's just no pump and that is sort of annoying. Price, 1, dirt cheap. Overall rating, 3, as in okay. And according to mua, this foundation's average is average. I may get the Almay clear complexion liquid foundation and hope that it's a 1 oz. version of their concealer.

I love the formulation of this product and I think it feels light on the skin, while giving a decent amount of coverage. The only reason I gave this 3 lippies is because I can't find my correct shade! Always becomes more orange after application, but other than that I like this product and would buy again if I could find the correct shade for my skin tone.

I'm really sorry for the people who had a poor time with this foundation. Objectively, I think this is a good foundation.


Eminent makeup artist Lisa Eldridge says there are three things to check when testing foundation to see if it'll be a good match: Texture, Colour and Coverage.


Formulation and Texture: Is it water based, oil based? How much silicone does it contain? Is it suitable for normal-dry combination skin or is for normal-oily combination skin?


Colour: Does the foundation match the skin of the wearer? Which undertones of colour is it suited for- pink, neutral, yellow, red or brown? Is it a realistic shade that represents skin colour?


Coverage and Lasting Power: How much coverage does the wearer want? Keep in mind that foundation is designed to even out skin tone and minor imperfections. Concealer is used for more prominent imperfections. How long does the foundation last before it fades?


Those who did get to revel in the pleasures of this foundation were quite unlucky to fall outside the broad net of people who would have found this foundation to check all the boxes for the three qualities above.


The foundation is suited for people with normal to dry combination skin, skin that is not moist with oil or sebum but maybe slightly parched though not too flaky, with has a layer of moisturiser, primer or any other emollient or silicone product that covers the face to form a base or matrix on which the foundation can adhere to. A bare face is fine but the finish of the foundation depend on the smoothness of the face of the wearer.


The foundation is generally unsuitable for oily skin- unless products have been sued to dry the skin out. Silicone based primers and setting powders may not be enough for oily skin. There are far better foundations for oily skin than this foundation can offer.


Colour: The shades ending in '0' are designed to have yellow undertones and those ending with '5' are designed to have pink undertones. In reality, the entire set of foundation will better cater for people whose predominate skin undertone is yellow or neutral, 0 for the yellows and 0 or 5 for the neutrals. Those with a mixture of pinks, reds and browns in their skin may find the foundation strange- too yellow, too orange, too ashy, too light or too dark. Disappointingly, but not surprisingly the foundation has limited shades for skin that is genuinely dark.


To reiterate: the colour of this foundation will suit light, medium or lightly dark skin with predominate undertones of neutral or yellow shades. As darker skinned folks out there will know- dark skin often can often be a add mixture of several strong undertones of colours- not just yellow, so the foundation will be quite disappointing for many with dark skin.


Coverage- this foundation offers light to medium coverage with great buildability. Lasting power is great anywhere between 6-8 hours without too much fading provided your skin is more normal-dry combination. Setting powder may maximise the lasting power. Take care with skin flakes, any foundation- even this one will enhance flakes- though this one performs quite well here too.


To use: pour a very small amount on the back of the hands, and using a finger buff in circular motions till the foundation blends and disappears into the skin. Start at the centre of the face or the parts of the face where most coverage is needed. If blended into a thin, thin layer the foundation dries with ease and no setting powder is required. It leaves a dewy, albeit shiny finish to the skin, even though the skin is not oily- just shiny with it. I prefer mattifying with a light amount of powder.


With one thin layer, skin tone is evened out. To even trained eyes- it maybe difficult to discern that you are wearing foundation- except the skin maybe a little more shiny. You may choose to apply a second layer if desired in the same manner as the first layer and you'll have a nearly medium flawless coverage- wear you can just tell there is a hint of foundation to the skin.


A tip the Eldridge uses often is to apply a thin well blended layer fo the entire face. As our gaze often fall onto the eyes and cheeks of face, instead of the chin and forehead, flawless coverage in the areas of the eyes and cheeks create an optical illusion that this entire canvas of the skin is more flawless than it seems. If there are no major problems with this chin and forehead (your could still use concealer), apply a second, very fine layer under the eyes and on the cheeks. You'll look flawless.


The secret to this foundation- and perhaps to most foundations- is to apply a light well blended and if necessary and suitable, add light thin layers where required. For any foundation- it will make the coverage more seamless, natural and most importantly- it will make the foundation set to last much longer. Do not slap a thick layer over the face and hope it sets- even for dry skin it will slip off.

I do like it. I'm #310 and the texture of the product it blends in very nicely into my skin; it does just what it's name is - It doesn't mask, it fits. It's just that i have to really wash my fingers and hands every time I apply it to avoid random tan smudges on my clothes. But I love it! i can't see myself buying any other foundation for awhile.

I got this product for my birthday and got the shade 305. This shade seemed perfect at first but when applied to my face it looked orange and cakey and when I applied it with a brush it looked bad, a beauty blender it looked bad and with my fingers it looked bad... I just don't know how to work with it.

I found this foundation ok, expected more really. I have the shade 225 which is a really good match to my skin but just not enough coverage. Saying that I do like the consistency of this foundation but not alot of staying power throughout the day defiantly need a touch up.
