Takes couple of days to work, it's not a spot treatment. I was using it as one but it's meant to be a treatment used on the whole face but works well to remove pimples. It doesn't dry them out at all and now moisturizes the face. I LOVE IT :)
LOVE LOVE LOVE. It banished the product resistant acne that I had been struggling with for 6 or more months. Miracle product. The ONLY downfall is that it dried me out very badly, but after that I just stopped using it for a few days and let me skin heal. After my skin was repaired, I realized using it every day was way too harsh for my skin- so I kicked it down to 2-3 times a week on only my problem areas. Make sure to use it with a good oil-free moisturizer. YOU WILL LOVE!

This product used to work for me, a bit. It would take about 3 to 5 continuous days of using this product on a blemish for to finally see lasting results. However, when I wake up in the morning, there is a huge red splotch over the area that I have applied this product, on top of the zit. I think this product is too strong for my sensitive skin. I now have red splotches circling unhealed pimples because of this product. Not to mention, the splotches burn. I wish I could say this works for me, but it doesn't
My skin: my main skin issue is mild adult acne, that is partly caused by hormonal changes around the time of the month, but mainly by the fact that my pores are extremely prone to clogging. Also, on a good day my skin is still quite oily and somewhat sensitive, meaning prone to redness and scarring.
So after having gone through multiple tubes of this product within a two years' period, I can honestly say it works for me and really helps my skin situation. It does lower my pores' tendency to clog a lot (though not 100% - that's life) and it does contribute significantly to my skin staying smooth and relatively free of irritation and redness. Also it's not drying at all. I use it every morning before my BB cream or plain sunscreen, and, on bad skin days, in the evening before bed too. I'm quite sure this is what has been keeping my skin in a very good condition lately, simply because when I run out of it and don't immidately repurchase, my skin takes a turn for the worse right away.
Acne is a tricky thing and what works for one person is not guaranteed to work for the next person, however if you have skin issues similar to mine I definitely recommend you give this a chance. It's also an affordable product so not much to lose here.

Goodness. I gave this 1 star because it did dry up my cystic acne after a day of use. I had tried everything and nothing worked except this. Disappointingly enough, on day two, I had a horrible allergic reaction. My face and neck are now broken out and itchy. The skin on my cheeks are hard, blotchy and itchy. I didn't even use this stuff near my eyes but both eyes are swollen and itchy and I have bumps on my eyelids. I may keep it an use as a spot treatment since this is the only thing that works on my embarassing CA. I may have to skip work tomorrow if my eye swelling doesn't go down. Yes, it's that bad. Looks like someone punched me in both eyes. Oh well. This is my first time using a product with BP in it; I didn't realize I was so sensitive.
This product didn't work on me at all. Im actually a user of BP so i'm not sure why this didn't work for me. This actually irritated my skin and clog it up more. It is also heavily scented and had a very 'silicon-y' texture to it. I wish it did work for me like it did for so many others but unfortunately my skin just didn't like it.
I like this product very much. I have cystic acne that can be very persistant but for the past two weeks that I´ve been using this, it´s disappearing faster. Meaning that it takes a sebum maybe 3-4 days to calm down, instead of 7-10 days. I am getting new ones however. I´m thinking about using something soothing for night like pure Aloe Vera gel and this one for day only since it´s so acid-y and I´m afraid of the long term effect it will have on my skin. Has anyone tried anything similar?
I thought that i had already wrote a review for this, but I didnt. anyway, this stuff works for me. Really, really well. i feel bad for the other reviewers that didnt have success with it. I will not be without this stuff. The past four years have been a challenge with my skin to say the least. This was the first time in my life that I was consistently breaking out and my skin looked awful. I tried many products with limited success. They were not bad per se, just either had too many side effects or did not work consistently. This DUO stuff has consistently worked for me for over 6 months. I will agree with the other reviewers though. There have been times that I have used it too often and too much. Then my skin does feel sensitive and warm. It also can get some dry patches - nothing major just enough to notice. I then know to back off a bit. Many times i used moisturizer first and then the duo. Works just as well with a nice buffer. As soon as I see even a small pimple forming I put this stuff on and it is gone in a few days or most times less - no lie. The surrounding skin is kept in tact also which is not what usually happens with acne products. Usually it kills the pimple and damages the skin around it which makes everything look worse. This does not. It just shrinks everything down while giving your skin a nice glow. Totally worth a try. Even if you start by using it once or twice a week. If you have sensitive skin definitely use moisturizer first or mix this with your moisturizer which I have also done. Good luck to everyone in our fight for beautiful skin!
I bought this because I had some serious breakouts in 'that time of the month' worst than usual, every day I would get like 5-6 new pimpels.
This product is said to purify the pores and make the most severe imperfections dissapear but for me it did none of that.
I haven't used it long enough to see if imperfections dissapear but I don't believe they will.
For the breakouts it didn't help at all it even gave me more pimpels.
The tube is very hygienic and the gel is very light a bit runny, absorbes fast into the skin. At first it mattifies a bit (I had a shiny nose from cleansing and it was instantly mat) but it doens't last.
I get quite oily and shiny after 1-2 hours (normally I would't get shiny that fast) so I believe there must be something in it that makes your skin produce more oil and therefor gives extra pimpels at the end of the day.
The smell is medicinal, I don't have a problem with it but if you're sensitive to that stuff it may not work for you.
Overall it's really not a good product, Effaclar K was much much better, it's only anti relapse but I didn't get any breakouts while using it.
Effaclar duo I won't be rebuying but Effaclar K is definetly a keeper.

Sigh. Yet another acne product that does nothing for me. I have cystic acne and shiny, oily skin. This product didn't help it at all.
I had read really positive things about Effaclar Duo and found it at my local pharmacy. I applied after cleansing. It stings, big time, but that's a given for any acne product I guess. I applied and went to bed. Much like a lot of other topical acne products, Effaclar Duo seemed to work at reducing the hot, angry inflamed spots, but I also suspect that gentle cleansing and a good night's sleep can do this too. So, the angrier, inflamed areas had calmed down. However, I was left with a scattering of comedones (blocked pores) on my chin, forehead and jawline. Horrifying.
I have used it again several times since then, with the same results. That's the definition of insanity, right? Repeating the same behaviour over and over, and expecting to get a different result. See, this is what ten years of acne will do to a person's brain.
Won't buy this ever again. I only gave it a 1 because the texture is quite nice and non-greasy/sticky. Nice packaging, as with most LRP products. They're the only redeeming factors I can come up with.
