I was looking for a MAC Sculpt & Shape dupe, and this is pretty much as good as it gets! I love it for nose contouring, but I don't think I'd use it anywhere else since it's a very neutral brown, much like a shadow. I tried it on my cheeks, not a fan (for reference, I'm NC20.)
It's very very pigmented, so be careful with application :) I just use a MAC 217 to sweep down the sides of my nose, and it's just lovely. Since I use it everyday, I'm glad it somewhat fades because it's supposed to be subtle anyway. continued >>
This is by far my favorite contouring powder becuase it has a grey undertone. It works so well on my NC 20 to 25 skin tone . I love it! BTW, Im already on my second one.
Considering this is a low end brand, I thought the pigmentation and the price was reasonable. This color would work for fair to light skin tones. I use this for contouring along my cheek bones for when I want the natural, minimalist look, then use either a peach or pink blush on the apples of my cheeks. I do use primer on my skin to make this last longer.
It won't be the most pigmented compared to higher end brands.

So I bought this product based on reviews I read and also the MUG website top 10. I bought 7 shades to try and I've only tried 3 so far. Though I was a bit disappointed, it is true that it is matte. I bought this one to try to contour my face as I have read previous reviewers had done. But I find the color unnatural and ashy. If I were trying to go for a Halloween look maybe I could see it. Also, I don't feel that it has staying power for a day of work in the office. I'm kind of confused as to why it got such high marks.
I much prefer MAC blushes.
My 1st blush to hit the pan! It is a must and stable for me because itīs the perfect contour colour for my fair-light cool/neutral skin; greyish brown. Not too light or dark, just right. No moar bronzers for contouring!
I find the lighter colour in Elfs cool bronzer too dark. I use this everytime I wear mu under cheekbones and jawline. I have used it as an e/s too. Ordering online makes it not so cheap, but in this case I don`t mind.

This is just plain bad. First of all, I love NYX lipsticks, so I thought their other products might be of equal quality.I'd heard so many good things about NYX eye-shadows, that they were even comparable to MAC. (Hahaha! They wish!) I have no problem with them not being top drawer products, but I could barely get any opacity out of this shadow, even after applying layer upon layer. The texture was chalky as well. I returned it. I will say that the staying power was pretty good, though. But what's the point, if there's hardly and color to begin with?
Amazing product for contouring on my NC20/25 skin. The effect is very subtle but it's there. Doesn't require a hell lot of blending, pretty much foolproof and very useful for mornings when I'm rushing off to work. Will buy this again and again!

I waited so long to buy this, thinking it might look too grayish on my nc20/25 skin. It does not! It actually looks really natural and works perfectly for adding some color and shape to your face. It's excellent for contouring, as so many others have already pointed out. It's subtle but still noticeable, which I appreciate (pretty much fool proof). I use an Eco Tool fluffy blush brush to apply it to my cheeks and then along the jaw line to add contrast. Sometimes I add a pop of color on my cheeks on top of this (Benefit Dandelion for a bright pop of color or NYX Stone for a little more rosiness). The price is awesome for the quality, and I think the size of the product is reasonable as well. This product is totally matte, and so far I have not suffered any skin reactions or break-outs. Pretty awesome stuff.
Also - a lot of people seem to wonder how this differs from Benefit Hoola. I have and love Hoola as well, so here are the differences I've found. Hoola is more tan/slightly warm while NYX Taupe is truly neutral. When you swatch them next to each other, Taupe looks almost gray but it's just because of the tone difference. Hoola is also a lot more pigmented, which makes it easy to over do it. I wear Taupe as a daily contour shade and add Hoola when I want to look more sun-kissed.

Wowee, where have you been all my life, Nyx Taupe. I'm a super palie and bronzers look hysterical on me but I still wanted to try contouring. This is a dream, the perfect shadow colour on my skin, it looks amazing. On powder set foundation, it goes on and blends like a dream and stays put. You know when you buy something that surpasses everything you expect, well this product is it for me. Absolute HG powder contour - one more ticked off the list :-) Buy, buy, buy!
