Bought this online as it's not available in Oz yet. Having tried numerous disappointing lipstains in the past, I tried not to get too excited about the performance of this one. I have to say this far exceeded my expectations, firstly Crush is a lovely berry colour that if applied using the crayon shaped point will deliver a bold bright stain. I prefer to apply this stain using a lip brush for a more natural toned down colour, I then apply a clear gloss on top. This literally lasts all day which is nothing short of a miracle considering most lip products vanish on my lips within an hour of applying. Once applied it doesn't transfer onto cups etc, it doesn't suck the moisture out of your lips like some lipstains I could name & as I mentioned previously, this has amazing lasting power. I will definitely be ordering more colours. Hope to God they don't discontinue this anytime soon.
I originally picked up "Crush" for my mom because the lip stains were buy 1 get 1 half off. My mom is very picky and she thought it looked too purple. So I decided to try it and it actually looked great on me, I would probably buy again!
Oh my goodness. I love this stuff. Like, I want to marry it. It is just so darn good. I have it in Sweetheart, which is a fun bright neon pink on my super pale lips, and just today, I picked up Crush. And I'm head-over-heels. I'm a bit gothy at heart, so I tend to really stick with darker lip colors. I stray from the path sometimes and go for the summery brights or the peachy nudes, but I always come back to the deep shades. Crush is a superb blackberry color on me. Makes me feel very Lisbeth Salander. I absolutely adore it. And I love the stain it leaves behind. I'm a sucker for any lip stain that doesn't dry out my lips and then peel off like I've got some weird disease. (I'm looking at you Tarte Lipsurgence matte crayon things.)
My only issue is the packaging. It's a good sturdy package and all, but I wish it maintained its point a bit better. Perhaps if it had been longer so as to accommodate the same amount of product, but allowing it to be thinner for more precise application?
Anyway, that aside, I love these balm stains.
The color of this stain is a blue-based burgundy berry, not the plummy color I was hoping for. I did not like this shade against my medium olive skin, but I am not rating the color, just the formula. I gave this one lippie because the color goes on very shiny, dries down to a matte, and lasts and lasts, just like a stain should. However, this settled into my lips and accentuated every line, making my lips look bloody. I used this for a week and tried it with clear balm underneath, with clear balm on top, and I tried moisturizing and exfoliating my lips. Nothing helped. I still got that awful lips seeping blood look. I love how long lasting this is, but I'm afraid to try it in a different color, so I exchanged it for a lip butter.
I am generally a gloss girl, but I bought this because I wanted a cheaper version of the Tarte lip stains, which I really like but usually can't afford. The color of this stain, Crush, is a bright deep berry color. When I first bought it, I was about to return it only because the color was too bright for me (I have blonde hair and very fair skin). But I rethought doing that for two reasons. The first reason was that this stuff LASTS. It lasted through dinner, drinks, a shower, washing my face...I did all my regular activities, and it did not budge. So that was a plus. Despite that though, the color seemed too bright for my fair skin. But the second reason I did not return it was that l I woke up the next morning and saw that not only had it not budged, but it was a stunning lighter berry color that worked seamlessly with my skin. I added a clear gloss and it looked great. And I have to mention that it didnt come off at night on my pillowcase, either! Now I put it on late in the evening, do everything I normally do before bed, and then slap a clear gloss on in the morning and I'm set to go. It looks very natural, like it's your own natural lip color. I only saw a bit of dryness with it if you dont put a gloss over it, but I found that with the Tarte stains, as well. One benefit and detriment at the same time could be that this stuff does NOT come off easily. Even with makeup remover it still leaves a tint. So if you want to wear this then go to another lighter color the same day, you have to wait till it wears off. But overall for the price, this stuff is awesome. I recommend it. And if you're worried this shade is too bright for your face, just leave it on overnight, and you will wake up with the prettiest shade. I'm happy I tried it!
I love, love, love this product! I can honestly say that I have tried every stain on the market, from drugstore brands, to Sephora, to Sax, and have only found a few that I like. I love Urban Decay's Lip Envy in Greedy, but that's the only one of their two colors I like. I picked this up at my local CVS having never heard of it. The word "stain" always catches my eye. Now, I am a lip product junkie, and it takes a lot to impress me. The first day I tried this, I knew I was in love. I like the face that you don't have to sharpen it, and I like the chubby shape. I bought this color, because it looked to be the deepest. It is a lovely, deep berry, but can be sheer at the same time. It has a bit of shine, which is okay with me, because I hate, hate, hate the look of glossy lips. It's just cheap looking on me. The best part is that this truly stains my lips for hours. I even have some on the next morning, after wearing it. It is a perfect color for my pale complexion and dark hair, especially for summer, when I want good pigmentation, but in a more lightweight formula. The only downside is the color choices. I rushed out to buy more, but have not been happy with the other colors. They are just too light for my taste. I do like Adore, which is a brownish red on me, but Crush remains my true love. Great everyday product, and super price! I'm scared they will go away, so I have already bought 12 more, just in case!
Crush is a beautiful red toned berry color. It's got very fine red shimmer/glitters in it, and is very flattering on warm skin tones. I do think it would be flattering to cool tones as well. This color would be great for fall and winter. The product is very moisturizing. It twists up so you don't need a sharpener, which is really nice. It's great because it's a liner, color, and balm in one.
Wow, it looks like I'm going to be the first non-repurchase of this shade. So I've been dying to get my hands on these because of the youtube sensation sweeping this summer. I first tried these kissable lip balm stains in the color Rendezvous. Unfortunately that was a miss for me as well. But I liked the formula and idea well enough to try another shade.
This color pulls a bit too vampy on me. I probably should have read the previous reviews before trying it. It looks decent when it starts to fade away and a berry shade is left. But with first application it looks too dark and sinister for my hair and skin tone.
Alas, I will still continue to try these! I picked up Honey next. It looks like a wearable color so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
This is a vampy dark berry color on me. Of the three I have tried, this is my favorite. The stain lasts a long while after the balm has worn off. Although the formula feels a little drying, it isn't nearly as bad as most stains I have tried.
Wowser! On my NW20 skin, rosey lips, black brown hair & brown eyes this gives me the most sexy berry lip. It is berry goodness, but a touch dark for my preference for summer. However, come Labor Day, this thing is on like Donkey Kong. This is one of those things that you look forward too about fall (along with boots, new purses and cute coats). The color itself is accurately shown in the pic with the redhead. But on me, this gives me that evil queen feel from Once Upon a Time. I love it! If you aren't a deep berry kind of girl, I would shy away. But if these are usually right up your ally, you need to try this. No goth look either, just gorgeousness.
