I waited till after 3 weeks of using this shampoo to write this review. I bought the 8.5oz bottle just to try it out I didn't want to buy the bigger size and regret it. So the first couple times I used the shampoo and conditioner I was really impressed. It did what any other shampoo did, what I really wanted to see was how well it treated my ends, and so far nothing special. However, I wanted to make sure to finish it because it is rather expensive and my hair 3 weeks later looks awesome. My hair is shiny, full of volume and my end look healither then ever. I do like the smell of the shampoo and I have gotten maybe compliments on how good my hair smells. I will be sticking to this shampoo/conditioner combo for awhile.
With all the hype I thought this product was going to be amazing. Real disappointed. I personally did not like this product, it really dried out my hair. I have normal fine hair and it just made it feel really thin and stringy. I guess it just didn't work for my hair type. I do love the smell and probably could have gone 2 days without washing instead of my usual 1 day in between washes.
My mother owns a salon and recently went Moroccanoil crazy, so she gave me the shampoo, conditioner, and the LIGHT leave-in oil. I use all three of them, and they work FABULOUSLY on my thin, fine, frizzy hair. I've always had to choose between something that moisturizes and something that volumizes, but I get both in abundance with this stuff. My hair is soft, shiny, bouncy and full, and I seriously have NO split ends or damage. That is so rare for me, as I color frequently and generally just beat the hell out of my hair. Also, I tried the curl creme and that stuff worked better for me than anything I've used in YEARS. Overall, this entire line is awesome and I LOVE it.
I purchased the MoroccanOil shampoo and conditioner set after seeing Marlena (MakeupGeek.com on youtube) review it.
This review is for the shampoo itself. The first wash, I didn't follow the directions on the bottle and wash twice, so my hair was left feeling very unclean. Then of course, I read the directions. Normally a shampoo suggests to wash twice, but with this one you really have to. I bought the 16 oz. bottle with the pump. I use about 3 pumps at first, then rinse, and then 3 pumps more to shampoo a second time. The second time I get a lot more lather.
The smell is... okay... it's not bothersome, but I wouldn't say it smells ''good''. It also doesn't keep my hair smelling good throughout the day. I can go about 2 days in between washing my hair now before it looks really greasy, which is a plus.
I'm not completely sure I would buy this again, but I checked yes, just in case. It is pretty expensive, and I think I'd like to try the One n Only Argan shampoo/conditioner from Sally's next to compare.
Just started using this prodcut for my dry, curly, colored hair. I've gotten two days out of my last wash! Awesome! Doesn't weigh my hair down and you only need a small amount of product.
LOVE!!!!!!!!! I decided to try this based on hearing so many good things about it. After the very first use, i dried my hair and couldn't believe how soft it was. so far so good. Will update if anything changes.
My absolute HG shampoo (and conditioner - I use them together). They smell divine, just like all MorrocanOil products, and they leave my hair perfectly moisturized and not weighed down in the least. I am notoriously fickle with hair products, but this one has me coming back over and over again. I have been using it since it first arrived on the market more than a year ago, and have no plans to switch to anything else. I have a lot of very thick, wavy hair that I color and my hair has never been in such amazing condition, despite the fact that I am going to the salon to have it cut less than ever (once every 3-4 months). No split ends, knotting or dryness whatsoever. This is a fantastic product, and I am excited to see that it is now available in larger bottles which will be a better value for someone like me who has no intention of giving this shampoo up!
Not a holy grail shampoo, but close. I happen to love the smell of this stuff. Also find I can easily go 3-4 days without shampooing since my scalp is much healthier when I use it. Not as moisturizing as I expected - I definitely need moisturizer on the ends after use.
OMIGOD....this has to be the BEST shampoo in the world. I've tried many shampoos in my lifetime, but no shampoo is comparable to this one. It leaves my hair smooth and shiny. The way to tell if a shampoo is good quality is the condition of your just after washing it, prior to using conditioner. If it's smooth, tangle free, it's good. This is exactly what makes this shampoo out of this world. Plus, it's free of sulfates, phosphates and parabens. It's also colour-safe and smells wonderful. According to the company's website, the shampoo is infused with argan oil, keratin (which my hair craves for considering I'm in my early 40s), fatty acids, protein and other nutrients. Is this not the PERFECT shampoo?!?! I've used this for three weeks, daily, and my hair is just like when I was 10 years old. I paid $10 CDN for a small 250 ml (8 oz) bottle but this is a very small price to pay for gorgeous, smooth, shiny, bouncy hair.
This stuff STINKS. All I smell is synthetic fragrance, it was so stong I had to use apple cider vinegar to get rid of the scent. To me the smell is a blend of Hempz lotion and febreeze which are both horrible products too. As for the quality of the this, my hair was in knots after I used this and the conditioner. Moraccanoil is made with alot of cones which are used for taming the hair and are cheep for the company to use. Remember they are only looking for a profit. Also, the lovely agran oil that they claim is what makes this shampoo different form others does not make an apperence until number 8 on the ingredient list, at that point there is not much of that in there since ingredients are listed form high to low for concentration. If you are looking for a SLS free shampoo there are so many better choices than this, like Amazon Beauty, Yarok, Giovanni, John Masters, Rare Elements and many others. Also no matter how much the sales person tells you this is natural DO NOT believe them. Truely "NATURAL" products will never put in fragrance, they will use essentail oils which actually benefit your body or will go unscented. Even after that there are still some more chemicals in there that have been linked to cancer also some that have been advised not to be used in cosmetics in certain concentrations.
