This is a review for the primer. I had my doubts initially, but I have to say that not only does it make your skin look flawless, but my makeup looked fresh by the end of the day. The price is right and the quality is awesome. I also love their foundation and bronzer.
This foundation is great, despite the ingredients not being accurately listed on the website. They were mostly the same, except the website did not mention ultramarines, which some people try to avoid.
The foundation covers well, looks natural, stays on, and is even waterproof when it combines with facial oil or is applied on top of waterproof sunscreen. It calms my acne-prone skin down, instead of exacerbating the problem. It does need to be washed off with soap, but then, I wouldn't sleep in any makeup.
I have to admit that some of the reviews here and elsewhere for Faerie Organic look suspicious to say the least - I only realized this after I placed an order on their site. Apparently this company does a lot of "advertising" for their products on a variety of review/Q&A sites...however, their claims about the makeup aren't necessarily unfounded.
The makeup applies well and has so far not caused any problems for my sensitive skin...it's long-lasting, completely matte and blends into the skin nicely. The ingredients are high-quality and this has worked better for me than any other mineral makeup brands that I've tried.
Although the makeup was great, I also got a sample baby kabuki brush that feels like rubbing hay across your face; also, the bristles quickly fall out. It would have been better for them to not offer a sample brush at all rather than this one.
If you're interested, definitely go for a sample kit or two...but consider skipping out on the brush!
I never thought I would find my perfect (close to perfect) foundation through an unknown online company but I did! I was a little skeptical at first. I first heard about it through MUA and saw the good reviews. I decided to go for it since it wasn't outrageously expensive at $18 and the simple ingredients really drew me in. The first thing I noticed is that this powder felt light, just like other reviews said. I still have to use a regular concealer to spot conceal small blemishes but that's with any powder. I wanted to start using this because other makeup just had a bunch of other crap in it that kept breaking me out. I got sick of it and wanted to find something that's as pure as possible and be beneficial to my skin instead of making it worse. This has been working great, people don't even realize I have anything on, it's that natural looking. A lady at work keeps telling me how great my skin is and thought I wasn't wearing anything :). In my opinion, this looks a lot more natural than Bare Minerals. It has the best finish out of everything I have tried, really, nothing seems to beat it. I have oily skin and this gives a matte finish with a glow, not shimmery glow but just a glow. UPDATE: I've updated this review so many times, I decided to get rid of the other updates and just make one. I have strayed from this product so many times because I'm a product junkie and always think I can do better. This is pretty close to perfect but I started looking for other options because even though the website says max coverage, it is not. At best, it's probably a medium so don't expect full coverage but it is somewhat buildable if you use a dense kabuki brush. But I think most powders are about medium coverage and if you want anything more, you have to switch to liquid which is what I tried doing but my oily skin and liquid do not mix. So many makeup makes me break out, liquid or powder, so I decided I am finally sticking with this. The biggest drawback with these foundations is the shade range. I chose medium which works for me most of the time but I am having trouble either moving up or down a shade. For summer, sometimes I would like to go darker but the next shade up from medium is a completely different skin tone, it is a lot more yellow and way too dark. They need to make skin tone categories and make light to dark shades from those categories. But with mineral makeup, I feel it's easier to get away with a shade that isn't the perfect match vs with liquid. I've noticed this with all mineral makeup, it seems to melt into your skin and adjust to your shade. Maybe that's the oxidation part of it? Don't get me wrong, this won't go orange or you. If I get really dark during the summer, I use the bronzer from their line which is also awesome. Overall, yes it could be better if they made wider range of skin tones but as a whole, this mineral foundation can't be beat.
I've only used this product twice so far, so I'll update later on if anything changes. As of right now I love this makeup! I ordered a sample kit which included 3 different shades of mineral foundation, the mineral veil and a bronzer. Medium Beige matches my skin perfectly. I know everyone says this but it really feels like I'm wearing no makeup whatsoever. I have to keep checking in the mirror to make sure it's still there. I love the coverage I get from liquid foundation but hate the feeling that my skin can't breathe. Faerie Organic is very light and breathable while still providing decent coverage. I did have to use a tiny bit of liquid foundation to cover some trouble spots first, but that's to be expected with any mineral foundation. It looks more like good skin than good makeup. Since my skin is so sensitive I love that it's natural with the least amount of ingredients possible. I will continue to use my samples and I'm sure I will purchase the full size product when the time comes. On a side note, their Sun Goddess bronzer mixed with Wet n' Wild Fine Wink eyeshadow is the perfect pinkish gold shimmery color for eyes. Very pretty.
UPDATE: I did purchase the full size and loved it but it might have caused a breakout. :( I think if anything it was probably the mica. I hate it though, because otherwise I love everything about this makeup. Since I'm not 100% positive it was the foundation I'll give it another shot in the future. I only took it down one lippie because like I said, otherwise this makeup is fantastic.
I love faerie organic! BE made me break out, but not Faerie organic. you can sleep in it, and you will still not break out.
Leaves you with a nice glow, and has good staying power.
the skin care line is also great. Very natural, highquality products. I love it!
I luv Faerie Organic! I have had terrible acne for years. I have used everything from proactive, murad, drugstore brands and even products recommended by my dermatologist. All have failed me miserably, I still broke out, sometimes worse than others. I tried faerie organics original foundation in medium beige and have been using it for a month and my face has cleared so much! ( I also recently started their skincare) I am down to an occasional pimple instead of the rash of pimples across my cheeks. I have used BE (bare escentuals) in the past and it made me very itchy due to the bismuth ingredient. I love that they do not use bismuth and the very barest of ingredients. You must try them you won't be dissapointed! I highly recommend for those with acne. It is the best I have used.
*I must comment on "LOVELYISNTLOVE 's" comment. I thought this lady must be crazy as there is no way she broke out from Faerie's products, then I read her other reviews.........PEOPLE READ HER OTHER REVIEWS! She left the same feedback for faerieorganics giving her acne and everyday minerals giving her acne only 1 MINUTE apart on the same day!!!! I hate that people like this are allowed to comment as they can really keep people who need real reviews from getting the products they need. I say get the free sample kit and you will see for yourself!
I've gone through two waves of mineral makeup testing obsession, about 18 months apart. I've tried foundations from: lauress, everyday minerals, joppa, pure luxe, earthen glow, larenim, bare escentuals (god awful), jane iredale (only slightly less so), alima pure, barefaced minerals, meow cosmetics and uglogirl.
There were some strong HG contenders in that group, but nothing made me as happy as fearie organic original. I had to lay around with the colors until I found a perfect match with a blend of 75% fair & 25% fairly light.
I love the way this becomes almost invisible on my face. It gives me the look that all foundations should: my skin, but better. The coverage is buildable, but I like to take it up to a medium. Oh, and it last all day with just the lightest dusting of mineral finishing powder (mine is not from faerie).
I should mention that I'm now on accutane (fairly low dose), and as long as I apply this to a well moisturized face, it does not make my skin look dry or flaky.
Mineral makeup is so popular right now, there are so many different kinds on the market! It makes it very difficult to choose a quality brand. I've tried many different ones, from the cheapest to the very pricey. Faerie Organics is hands down the best I've found, and at an affordable price! Their celebrity airbrush finish delivers what it promises. With my acne prone skin I want the least amount of ingredients possible, and a complete coverage, this offers both. And my skin loves me for it!
Wow, for long until I see a good product, I hope it is organic as it claims. Follow instruction sheet when put it on. Wow, natural make up. I am impressed.
I am asian, I use light shade, order sample first, they will send you a package of different shades to try. Go for a lighter shade and you will be happy. remember, go for lighter shade
Try it, you will like it.
