I have to use this every day to get rid of the yucky red around my eyes. This is a magic wand..it makes the area around my eyes seem fresh and rested, and my eyes themselves seem awake. I would look like a zombie without this product. I can't say how it works for highlighting other areas..I don't really notice a difference. I also don't know if this helps with puffiness, as I don't have that problem. However, if you want something that will get rid of redness and dark lines..this is it!
EDIT: Ok, I loved this product and I'm still giving it 3 as it is the best at it's job...
however after about 5 months the bruch started to smell very odd and I got an allergic reaction and eczema under my eyes which required doctor's attention. I laid off use, the problems were healed, cleaned the brush thoroughly with brush cleanser and the rash reappeared. It obviously "goes off"......and at this price I'm not prepared to buy it again to replace it every 5 months, very disappointed.
I love this product.
I am very fair and suffer from under-eye circles, but also find the eye area is very dry and many concealers are too thick; they pull the skin as I apply and look cakey. Other products have been too peach and too chalky for this area.
I use it over a little foundation and find it is the best thing for covering up under eye circles. It's also great round the mouth and for "brightening" up areas. The coverage is not really enough for spots etc but I don't think that is what it's designed to do.
I didn't know how good this product was until one day I had to go out and get ready in 5 mins. At first I keep thinking how can I do to make my face look not too bad. Then I remember touch Eclat. I had nothing on my face at that time. I use this for under eye, corner of nose and mouth and then highlight my face. Wala~~my face does look nice and then I put my cream blush on the cheek. Swipe a bit powder on my face. When I look at mirror wow~~ I look nice!! I even got compliment from my BF when I go out.
But I dont' use it pretty often as its pricey and can quickly run out. I save it for occasion like this, when I need to run out really quick and no time for make up. I will definitely purchase again because this is such multi-tasking product (conceal, highlight, brighten).
I love my touche eclat. I do have to note - it is a highlighter but can be used with a concealer to help conceal. However, it should not be used alone as a concealer...you need to combine it with a concealer. I think this is a great on-the-go item to highlight dark areas and illuminate fine lines.
Reading the past reviews, please let me clarify that this is a highlighter to reflect shadows from darkened areas like corner of nose, under eyes and brighten areas like cheek bones and bridge of nose. I did my foundation first and applied Touche Eclat to under eyes to brighten and onto cheeks bone to highlight. The lovely texture is very easy to apply and blend and compared to Clarins Eclat Minute, this is not as pigmented. It is a must to clean to brush after every use, i ahve been and zero odour!
I agree with the reviewer who wondered what exactly this stuff is supposed to do. After reading and hearing all the hype about this product's miraculous ability to eradicate undereye circles I just had to try it (I have moderately dark hereditary undereye circles and pale skin). Well, for my undereye circles it doesn't do diddly. Too thin, too slippery.
And as a highlighter? Well, color me befuddled, but I was always under the impression that a highlighter should have some gleam or shine to actually attract light to the area being highlighted. This has neither. Pretty pointless (and pricey) if you ask me.
I love this product. I don't have very dark under eye circles and this covers them beautifully. I also use it on my eyelids and cheekbones as a highlighter. Love it and will continue to purchase.
I've had this for several weeks and I like it as a highlighter. I personally don't think it COVERS undereye circles as well as thicker concealers but it does make me look more awake. I apply it around the corners of my eyes and it looks nice. I have light olive skin (NC30) and the color is slightly off but the ivory looked too light and the peach looked too orange. I think I would repurchase but I want to try Dior's Skinflash first since it has received so many rave reviews. ***Update 4/23/06 - Now that I have used this more often, I can really see the pink in this. I think this color is better suited for fair gals w/ rosy undertones.***Update 2/13/07 - Okay, I realized that this color is perfect for counteracting the blueness of undereye circles. It does not cover them per say, but I feel like it cancels out some of the darkness. As a highlighter, it is a little too pinkish. However, I did upgrade the score to 4 lippies b/c when I have dark circles, I ALWAYS turn to this stuff now.
I use this under my eyes to make me look more awake. And the one I have now is like my 5th one and I have never, ever, ever noticed a smell. That is weird, now the next time I pick it up I will have to sniff it! I don't have any circles but I use it to brighted up my eyes and it works great
I do really like this and agree with the positive comments about it's texture BUT I think the smell comes from microbes feeding on dead skin that has been passed up inside the tube. Washing the brush doesn't seem to help. Other concealers don't seem to have this problem?? maybe not enough proper preservatives. I have to replace it frequently.
