I began using this after losing my bottle of 10 Hour Sleep because the 10 Hour Sleep can fade very quickly after application. This foundation does not have that problem, and it also doesn't leave me as shiny as the 10 Hour Sleep.
The finish is dewy but not overly so, it blends fairly well but I prefer using my Mac 187, whereas fingers were perfect for the 10 Hour Sleep. The lightest shade is not quite as light as that of the 10 Hour Sleep, so it doesn't match me quite as well. The coverage is about a medium to sheer, wearing off somewhat after a few hours. It seemed to go a little orange, but now its okay again...
One issue I do have is that the pump on my bottle has become really erratic. The bottle is about half full, but sometimes it takes about 10 pumps to get some product out. I have probably dropped it a few times though. The foundation is about £10, but I got mine on sale. I do think this is somewhat expensive for drugstore, but it's lasted me about 5 months and works much better for me than most drugstore foundations, and I love the Bourjois brand!
I am so lucky I found this foundation. Best one I ever had! The coverage is medium to sheer, which is good as I don't have major problems with my skin. I am just looking for something to give me an even colour.
I always apply it with my fingers and it looks and feels incredibly NATURAL and SOFT. You almost can't see that I am wearing it, which is amazing. The pump dispenser is also great and precise, so you never waste any product!
The only downside is that my T-zone tends to get greasy towards the end of the day, and I need to touch up with some powder (so I'll have to take away one lippie for that), but this has happened to me with all foundations so far... I think the price is very reasonable for the good quality.
I really like this foundation. It's has medium coverage but feels very light and looks very natural, especially because it's semi-matte, just like skin should be. It's not super long wearing and you would need to touch up along the day. I put on my foundation with a flat top brush and I don't set it with a powder, I just use powder (MSF natural) for touch ups. I'm really loving this foundation. The only thing I'm not sure is the shade. I bought it online so I used a review here to figure out my shade. A girl said she was NW20 and used bouth 52 vanilla and 53 light beige. Since I'm really scare of looking like a ghost I bought 53, but it's a bit dark for me. Nothing really noticeable if blended well, but when I repurchase (because I will) I might go with 52.
This broke me out. I tried to ignore it and carried on, but each and every time I used it I would end up with pimples and clogged pores within that night. It wasn't that cheap, either, if I paid 20 more bucks I could've gotten a high-end MUFE foundation. The consistency, spreadability, and feeling was nice. The finish was also quite natural. I wish this had worked on me. My skin isn't all that sensitive, and I can usually get away with putting anything on it, short of gasoline. But this one broke me out, and I'm currently in the process of getting my skin back on track. I also bought the concealer, which also broke me out in all areas except under my eyes (since I don't have open pores there, I guess).
Ok I liked it but I never used it for a reason. The yellow undertones in this make my skin look incredibly ashy and pasty and gross.
However mixed with Illamasqua Rich Liquid foundation in 120 it makes my skin look fairly nice. Illa's RL foundation is pretty heavy and has a pinky undertone which cancels out the yellowness. It's a pretty good mix but I don't enjoy wearing foundation really anyway. I think next on my list (when I get less cheap) will be Giorgio Armani's face fabric, MUFE face and body or chanel's vitalumiere. I just really want something which feels light AND looks light!
I'm really happy with this product. I don't have a lot of experience with liquid foundation. I usually use powder. The only liquid foundation I've really used before was a l'oreal one. True Match maybe? Anyway, that liquid foundation left my skin feeling dry and weird. I've also used a tinted moisturiser which left my skin feeling tacky and sticky, which is a pretty gross feeling. Bourjois Healthy Mix leaves my skin feeling soft and really smooth, slightly less moisturised than a moisturiser, but really good for a foundation. It evens out my skin tone, glosses over my pores, and generally makes my skin look healthier.
I got it at Target on a 50% sale for $16, so I was also really happy about the price! For what it is, I think that's a fantastic price. I don't find the smell too overpowering, either. It's a nice scent that you can smell as you put it on but that dies down less than twenty minutes later, for me. I'm really in love with this foundation! I think I'm on the darker side of no. 52, Very Vanilla. However, no. 55 was too dark and there was no tested for 54 or 53! Kinda annoying! But if I find it too light in summer I can just use darker powder or a bronzer, no biggie.
One lippie off just because the colour is too yellow for my skin - it's otherwise a great match but if I use more than a tiny amount I start noticing it.
When i rate the price as "rather expensive", it is actually in comparison to other drugstore products. I invested in healthy mix last week after seeing all the favourable reviews on the net, i guess if it does deliver good results and can be my HG, i would have saved quite abit from high-end ones. However, it turns out to me that it is a mediocre foundation. The radiance is not really great, nor its staying power nor coverage ability. Its coverage is medium at most, no matter how i build it, it is not layerable. I realise it starts to cake or melt after a few hours ( i have only worn it at most 6 hours) and leaves my face an oily mess. This is rather disappointing and although the packaging is convenient, it does look dirt cheap =(
I have been wearing foundation for around 20 yrs now, and this is the first time ever that I have been happy with a foundation. It is the perfect match for me. I came across it by accident. I was in Priceline, looking for RedEarth foundation as it was recommended to me, but unfortunately they sold out of my shade. So as i continued to search for another brand, the shop assistant came over to me with the sample pot of Bourjois Healthy Mix in number 56 - Light Bronze. She told me to put it in my bag. I looked up at her as if she was crazy and she looked at me and said, :dont worry you're not stealing it, I'm giving it to you". So i took it, thinking the whole time its's a waste of time but I'll just keep the lady happy. Anyway, a few days later I took it out of my bag and left it on the kitchen counter. I just kept ignoring it. Then a couple of days later as i was leaving to drop the kids to school I just decided to put some on and that I was going to come back home and have a shower anyway and no one had to see me with it on (firmly believing it was the wrong shade for me!) .... but as i put it on I could hardly believe what i saw.. it was the PERFECT SHADE, TEXTURE, FEEL, LOOK!! everything one wants in a foundation. You see I am PAKISTANI so the shade was never going to match i thought, but it was just sooo perfect! I apply Mac pressed blotting powder in dark after it and it is heaven. I went out the very next day and bought the actuall full size bottle. I hope to God it doesn't get discountinued......
I would buy this again in a second!!
I apply this with a foundation brush and really spend a good time buffing it in and it gives the most flawless look. The foundation brush is another thing i thought was just a hype but will never go back to sponges
For someone like me who gets a few spots sometimes it is BRILLIANT! It covers well but isnt cakey in the slightest and hasn't ever made my skin worse or broken me out.
I do not have oily skin, its just normal and the foundation doesn't seem to make my skin any oilier.
The colour blends very well for my skin tone and im very fair. Most of the shades seem to be for fairer complextions so sorry girls with olive+ complextions, its not for you.
..Which is a shame, because I really do reccommend this product!
Oh, and it smells so fruity and gorgeous!
Is it possible for your skin to feel better after using foundation? I swear mine does after using this! The smell is pleasant but not overwhelming and the coverage is great. The semi-matte finish is really great for during the day and doesn't look bad under flash photography either. I highly recommend this and I know that I will be going back to this over and over. Did I mention it's cheap?
As I was wondering through ulta looking for yet another foundation, I stumbled upon this unassuming little gem. I was tired of looking at the overwhelming selection of foundations so I just snatched up and I am so glad I did! Let me start off by saying I have difficult skin. It seems every foundation( i have tried lancome, bare essentulas, all drugstore brands, benifit, lorac, exuviance and MANY others) I choose ends up sliding off my face or being way to matte and drying for my skin. Though my skin is not all that oily many foundations I chose caused my skin to turn into an oil slick. On the other hand the overly matte foundations such as the lancome teint idole ultra left my skin looking like a dehydrated mess. This foundation is the PERFECT texture and it glides on effortlessly leaving a semi matte finish behind. The semi matte finish is just what I needed and It covers any imperfections beautifully (I have had no need for a concealer since using this product). I have hormonal acne that tends to be aggravated by most foundations but not this one! For $25 bucks this foundation is well worth a try!!!!!
