I have never liked cover girl foundation but this is a rare find. I have oily skin skin and this has become my go-to foundation. I just finished the makeup forever hd and wasn't impressed enough to repurchase. I decided to give this a go because of the reviews and great price. It doesn't disappoint. Goes on nicely, helps control my oil throughout the day, and stays put. The price is a steal and it's very convenient to find. My only complaint would be the that it does seem to settle into my pores a bit, which is not attractive. Also its hard to color match with drugstore foundation. But overall it is comparable to just about any high end foundation out there, and believe me I have tried me all. Have been using about a month and will repurchase at this point.
I love this foundation! Even though the shade I bought is a shade too light, I still wear it daily. It is so easy to blend, unlike most foundations I've used. Love the coverage level and matte look, especially since I have oily skin. Also, the packaging is fabulous! Price isn't bad at all either. I will get one shade darker next time and it'll be perfect!
EDIT: This foundation's formula is perfect!! However, most of the lighter colors have a strong pink undertone making it hard for people with yellow undertones. So besides the horrible undertone selection it's great.
I am not a foundation girl! I hate how most foundations make my skin look cakey and unnatural! But this foundation is the only foundation I use if I were to use it everyday. It dries like powder but has a healthy glowy finish that doesn't make me look oily and the blendability is amazing with a round buffer brush! It also matches my skintone perfectly but I think they should have more colors with yellow undertones. and it has a pump so that's a number one on my book for packaging!
The rave reviews on this product truly, truly live up to their claims! I am NC 20 with very oily skin but my skin does get dryer in certain areas in the winter. I've been testing out this foundation for the past week or so and I can see how people with normal or dry skin could find this foundation too drying and patchy. However, for women like myself who have extremely oily skin, this foundation is truly fantastic! It does take a bit more work to blend this in and it does dry quickly, I've been using my mini EcoTools kabuki and it works very well at buffing it in. It leaves a matte, powdery consistency and I cannot wait to see how it holds up in the hot humid months of summer when my face gets especially oily. Love love love this!
OK, I have to say, with just a nice moisturizer underneath, and letting it really soak in first, the application and staying power of this product was pretty nice. I couldn't believe the coverage. I am a makeup artist, but I like to apply and initially spread my own makeup with my finger tips, and then blend in with a foundation brush, I have sensitive skin and some broken capillaries, and this stuff covered, and left a slight, powdery /matte finish on my face. (As if I had just set it with a translucent, or something) I lightly went over my under eye area with a concealer for added camoflaug, but that was IT. A little goes a long way, and, as with all makeup applications, I recommend use of this product on relatively clear, exfoliated and moisturized skin. I have scarring on my chin, and it took a little extra blending with a Kabuki brush for it not to "show" in my highs and lows, but it blended out, eventually. I usually use Makeup Forever HD foundation, on myself and my clients, and so far, this stuff stays put without a setting powder or any primer. DOWNSIDE: It feels a little too matte for my dry skin, even after a moisturizer, and is SO matte, that I have to add a slight shimmer highlight to get that "dewy cheek look" that J-Lo has. If you're oily in the T-zone and usually get shiny, this would be interesting to test out. ALSO...it smells OK, but a little like Noxema, or the other Cover Girl foundations, and after a while, for me, it seemed a little overpowering. If you LIKE that smell, then you'll love this foundation. I think it was under $15 and compared to $40 for my MU Forever HD foundation, I can tolerate a little "clean fragrance." So for gals who want good coverage , a not-too-heavy feeling, and beauty on a dime? This might be your option.
I'm amused at the range of responses to this product, from basically "Run away, run away, save yourself!" to "It's the best thing since instant oatmeal!" I'm with the "instant oatmeal" folks--I'm loving this foundation. Love the texture, which is a creamy liquid, love the pump (looking at you, Revlon Colorstay), love the coverage, which I'd call medium-full. I'm NC20, and Classic Ivory is a perfect match. I don't find this cakey or thick at all. I'm using my new Hourglass foundation brush, which admittedly makes application of any foundation a delight, but I'm sure you can get equally good coverage with any decent brush or a Beautyblender or a basic damp wedge sponge. You really do not need a primer with this stuff and if you do need any concealer it would be for the undereye area, or perhaps any substantial redness or breakout. Otherwise, this is a supremo DS foundation, in my humble opinion. Enthusiastic two thumbs up!
I reluctantly bought this product after seeing all the rave reviews. I was excited to try it out as I love drugstore foundations.
I have used Revlon Colorstay for years, I even used it for my wedding! I'm NC42 and I use shade Golden Caramel in CS.
I bought Stay Fab. in Golden Tan and the shade match was pretty good, but that is not my complaint. This foundation looks so mask like! I could not get over it, and if it looks mask like shouldn't it have great coverage? I would think so. I had to build up the coverage and that just made me look more cakey. Maybe I have high expectations for a foundation? I dunno but CS gives me better coverage and does not make me look like I am wearing a mask so I will stick to that!
I really like this product! It feels great on my skin and covers like I want. I wouldnt say it is full coverage but medium coverage. But it is buildable. Ive been using 1 1/2 pumps and I am good. I am NC 42 in winter and NW35 in summer and I got this product in Golden Tan. It fits my skin well. Love the way it makes my skin feel! Will definitely repurchase!
wow! i am so glad that i gave this foundation a try. I have to say i am really impressed. I have a few CG foundations & have typically been happy w/ them. Outlast Stay Fabulous is just that, Fabulous!
~~~~~~~~~~~~ PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~~
CoverGirl is a well known, highly available drugstore cosmetics company available in most drugstores like CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid as well as mass stores like Target, Walmart and Kmart. Availability & price will vary as with most drugstore products depending on your location as well as sales & discounts. The price to me personally is a little high esp for d/s product. But anymore, foundations are almost $10 each so i purchased mine at Walmart for $9.47 with a $1 off coupon so I paid around $9 which isnt bad but i wish it was a few dollars less. Would i buy again for the same price, probably. I would def suggests using coupons or waiting for sales.
~~~~~ SHADE & FORMULA & PERFORMANCE ~~~~
CG Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation is a great for most skin types. I think normal/dry skin like my own can wear this just be sure to moisturize well but those w/ combo/oily skin can also wear this since the formula is a thicker more natural/matte finish. Depending on how much is applied & which way its applied, coverage will vary. I like to just even out skin so i find one pump is way more than needed. I find this covers so well that concealer can be skipped if i add a bit more in areas like under eyes, spots, & blemishes. Whats nice is building up does not lead to cakeyness nor does it emphasize fine lines or pores. What i love about this foundation as well is I was worried that the lightest shade was going to be too dark or not cool enough from reading reviews but I find it matches my NW10 (i may even be lighter than that, im super pale) but the fndt shade 810 fits just fine, its slightly more neutral than cool but those with NC skin may see it leaning slightly too cool. I am glad 810 Ivory is light enough that it sets into skin. The coverage is wonderful. I like light coverage but have found Outlast to give medium to full if you build it up. I use half a pump & a damp sponge w/ setting spray or my Elf Powder brush to blend this out. Doesnt dry too fast either. It blends so easily, has a slight gel primer feel to it. It glides on easily like silicone & doesnt settle or cling to any of my dry areas being that its still a harsh winter climate here. I have norm to dry skin so this wears for 7-8 hrs before i see any fading. Long wearing, great coverage.With great coverage normally comes the heavy, im wearing makeup feeling that i dislike but not with this. It feels like skin & the scent dissipates during application. Ive had no breakouts or pimples appearing w/ some fndts ive tried since i do have sensitive skins at times. If i use a dab more under eyes & any hyper pigmented areas, i dont even have to use concealer. I like to wear a correcter under eyes but i could skip steps w/ this. I would suggests anyone giving this a shot bc i think its a great foundation. I am glad to see d/s companies giving us high quality makeup.
~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~
CG Outlast 3-in-1 Foundation comes in a nice glass jar included a PUMP! yes, a pump, a rare commodity in d/s foundations. The glass jar is thick but not super heavy. It will hold up w/ travel. The pump allows easy distribution of product. I like to use half a pump which i can do w/ this. The pump is a nice teal blue color. The lid stays on to keep the pump & product protected so no messes. The labeling information is the teal color as well. Shade number is located on the front bottom as well as on the back with the shade name. More information is also on the back of the jar. The packaging is simple but actually really nice. Its doesnt take up too much room, nothing bulky. I am pleased w/ the packaging. I havent had a problem w/ getting to the fndt but ill have to wait til the bottom of the jar to see if its hard to get to it all.
Overall, this is def my new go to favorite foundation. I have 2 other favs too but so far this is beating them two. I'll def use this up & buy a backup or two, haha. I just really like it but i see this one bottle lasting awhile since very little is needed. I like to use this too w/ my fndts that are too dark and/or not enough coverage. I dunno how ill like this in the summer since i like light coverage when its hot but ill see. Def recommend to anyone esp those looking for a foundation that will provide coverage & lasting power. A few shades to pick from, the shades are similar to other CG foundations.
For me this was a less than OK foundation. I found the coverage to be nearly-sheer but buildable (if you work quickly). It kind of started to get sticky when I went back over areas that needed a little more coverage. The two things I liked about it were the finish and the feel. It felt light weight, not sticky or strange. It finished pretty matte, almost powdery. What I didn't like was how it settled into pores a scars, and it streaked. So when it says that it already has primer in it - I guess that doesn't mean the kind of primer that makes your base go on nicely. You better put this on directly in front of a window or outside. It looked all nice in front of my makeup mirror and then I went outside to check on it and it looked like I let my 3 year old put it on for me. It was correctable with powder, but jeez. If you have poreless, scar free skin, this would probably work nicely for you.
