I have used several cheapie straighteners before trying trying this one and I gotta say that my CHI is the best investment I could have ever made!
My hair is thick, wavy, and tends to poof out after washing/during hot & humid weather - my CHI flat iron quickly and easily irons out all my kinks in ten minutes flat (no parting/separting hair required).
It is a little pricey but well worth it! People have been commenting on my straight, shiny hair ever since I purchased it.
Hello all i read over all the reviews here and everywhere i could before investing in a new flat iron. I just received the CHI and i of course used it right away. I now am a believer myself. It does show the difference, my hair is very soft (baby soft ) very straight, and all this in less than 10 minutes. My hair is wavy with lots of frizz. I love it and will keep it. Despite the negative reviews that it breaks within a year I am willing to take that chance and were this to happen i shall for sure repurchase none other but the CHI!
I am completely, utterly in love with my CHI. I would sit and cry because I tried everything to straighten my thick, wavy and curly hair, and nothing would work. I shelled out $300 for one of these about a year ago. It's fantastic. It heats up quickly, and I can straighten my hair in less than 10 minutes. Some of my friends don't like to use my CHI because they say it makes their hair TOO straight. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy another of these if mine stopped working. If you shell out the money for one, you will never regret it.
I just got this iron at the recommendation of my stylist and I LOVE it. I went through 2 in the past 2 years, one a cheap drugstore brand that didn't really work and the next was a mid-range one at about $60 which worked somewhat but died after a year. My hair is wavy, but very very thick and it really loves to pouf out, even when it is not humid. The chi instantly straightens my hair leaving it silky and soft and it lasts for days- I went 3 days w/o washing it-- 3 days where it was raining, and it stayed flat no problem! amazing. Not to mention this thing is fast, I don't even really have to separate my hair into tiny sections to get it flat and can do my whole head in about 5 minutes if I'm in a hurry and it looks fine. I can't speak yet as to how long it will last, but my hairdresser has had hers for 1 year and a half, and she told me she uses it 3-4 times a day on clients and it's still going strong. I'm very happy with this purchase and think it's well worth the money. Don't compromise on a cheap one, get one that works, and this one does.
I just recently got a new job and decided to invest once and for all in a Chi. I went to Trade Secret and bought a Chi Bling, which I believe was a special limited edition flat iron. I absolutley love it. My Chi is purple and so so cute, which makes it that much more special to me.
Everyone knows how good this tool is, and how to use it, but I will say that I got my best results when I misted my hair with the Chi 44 Iron Guard. If I just style my hair dry, i don't get the same stick straight results.
And my favorite part about the Chi, is that I can style my hair on Monday morning, and it still looks the same Wednesday night. Fabulous!
My stylist had used this on me for a few years before I actually bought one. I never thought I needed something so professional, but now I can't imagine my life without it. This flat iron has replaced all of my styling tools (curling iron etc.) My hair is very very fine, and thin and this makes it look utterly fabulous. I have used this tool when my hair has been chin length to a little past shoulder length and it makes it stick straight and manages to not make my hair dry and brittle. It heats up VERY quickly and is just perfect. This is probably my favorite beauty product that I own. Sadly, I tried using my old one in through a power converter in Europe, and it totally ruined it. So on the way home from the airport the day I got back I had to stop and get another CHI. It is that important to me! It may seem a little pricey at first but it is well worth it!
This thing rocks, I love it. It has lasted me a long time and it's still goin strong. It hasn't made my hair all dried out either. It's expensive but once you have it you wont have to worry about a straightner again for a long time. Not to mention you can flip out, under and curl.
Definite HOLY GRAIL!!! I use the Chi Turbo 2"...and seriously, until I tried this I don't know how I ever got by. Because of my line of work I travel quite a bit and recently spent some time in 2 European countries...on my way out from the first one I cleared customs only to arrive in the 2nd country and realizing that my Chi got "accidentally" left behind when they did the open bag check. I went from livid to heartbroken because I had to go out and buy some cheapie drugstore brand to get by. The first thing I did when I got back home in the States was to run out and spend another $150 on another Chi Turbo 2"--well worth the investment. There's a LOT to be said about full ceramic plates (as opposed to ceramic plated of the cheapie brands). Geez, I hope someone in Europe is enjoying my Chi and getting as many compliments as I did. The trick to using the 2" from the very root of the hair is to pull your hair straight UP (as opposed to sideways)...this way you can clamp the iron at the scalp and glide thru and straighten, curl, flip or whatever. The Turbo model has red velveteen covering the plates on the outside, which is great because you don't burn your scalp. Gotta love it!!!
Hi, this is my first time on here but I had to give my review on the CHI straightening iron. I have very thick, wavy, frizzy, colored hair, that comes to just below my shoulders. First I got the CHI 1" Turbo and was not impressed at all. I think it was too small for the amount of hair that I have, and even though I used it on the highest heat setting, it did not seem very hot to me. So, I returned it and got the Big CHI 2" (not Turbo, the regular one). This one is MUCH better, and I swear it gets hotter than the Turbo did. It leaves my hair straighter and definitely cuts down on the volume, which is great because I have a tendency toward POOFY hair! Only thing is, since it is a 2" I have problems using it on my roots so I got a little cheapie 3/4" one to do my roots and bangs. But overall, I love this thing and when it poops out I will definitely get another CHI. *EDIT* I just got the 1" Regular CHI now too and it is awesome! I still use the 2" on really humid days, though.
Worth every penny! Heats up quickly, cools down just as fast. No frizz, no hassle, just perfect results every time. By far the best flat iron I've ever owned.
