This review is the the Fragrance Free-8 o.z. tube of Daily Moisturizing Lotion.
I thought this would be a good winter lotion for my body but...it doesn't feel like it totally sinks into my skin. I've tried using this when my skin was dry and when my skin was moist (from getting out of the shower) but either way, it still doesn't feel like it sinks all the way in. Also, I hate the smell! It says on the tube that it is Fragance-Free but it smells like baby rash cream/baby diaper cream-- I personally cannot stand this smell. The only thing I really liked about this product was the packaging. I got mine in a squeeze tube, so the lotion comes out very easily.
I'll probably give this tube to my sister who has extremely dry skin, maybe'll she'll like it.
Great product for itchy skin. The oatmeal in it really soothes my legs when they get itchy or dry in the winter.
My favorite lotion for everyday. Seems to prevent razor burn on my legs and "chicken skin" on my upper arms. Even at the end of the day my skin still feels smooth and silky. I just wish it smelled better-- it's hard to get around that petroleum odor. I have been using the Target knock-off version of this as well-- it works just as well, but the smell is even less appealing.
I didn't care for this lotion. It left my skin feeling too greasy. I'm beginning to realize that products like this with petrolatum never really moisturize or soften...they just leave a film on my skin. Will not repurchase.
HG winter body lotion! fragrance free, soaks in nicely, really does moisturize for 24 hours. It has dimethicone, so its best to use it right after the shower so it locks in the moisture. I discovered this last winter and it saved the skin on my upper arms, which usually get dry, scaly, and itchy. Since using this, that never happens anymore. Love it!
Aveeno's Daily Moisturizing Lotion is the only lotion I'll use on my body. I have combo skin and I never felt like this lotion was greasy or too oily. After I shower, I lightly dry off and apply this lotion to lock in moisture. My legs and arms are soft the entire day!! I've used Lubriderm and Eucerin and Vaseline...almost every lotion out there. But Aveeno's Daily lotion is the only lotion to truly lock in moisture. If you're worried about breakouts on the back or chest, don't apply it there. But on the legs and arms, it's great!!
this did the reverse of what it was supposed to do. i think it made my skin drier. unless this is some kind of gets worse before it gets better product? made me dry and itchy and i noticed that my nails became brittle after using this. this doesn't moisturize, it just puts that famous aveeno film on your skin. i need moisture so i guess this is for normal skin.
this literally burned my skin.. left it red, peeling.. awful.
This lotion is moisturizing and but somewhat flimsy but not to the extent that bothers me. But does bother me is the scent of it. It stinks! I can't describe the wierd smell but it's not pleasant at all. I will keep using because of the recommendation for my allergy from taking doxycycline. But I will try to find a lotion which moisturizes and doesn't stink. Edit: I get used to the scent after all.
I have used this lotion for the last 2 years, since my Rosacea started. I have a medical condition that dries my skin out severely, and combined with Rosacea, my face was very tight, nothing helped as my skin is so reactive to most products. I wanted to try something like Aquaphor (yes thats how dry and tight my face can get!), on my face at night, but it would make the Rosacea redder. I took a chance and mixed some with the Aquaphor and it helped tremendously. When I shower I make a paste of this, and the Aveeno bath powder (ground oatmeal ) and some water, to protect my skin from reacting to shampoo, cond, the heat and warm water in general. I also use that mask when my skin is flaring and it always helps.
I never used it on my body, preferring a less matte, moisturizer with more "slip." I couldn't see how my very, very dry body skin could improve without something "greasier." A friend got me two large bottles of this with pumps, at Costco, after knowing I'd spent an entire summer battling dry patches on my arms and legs. Nothing helped, tried many things, could no longer use self tanner as the dry patches remained oddly white, and resistant to color. But decided to give the Aveeno a try seeing as I had so darn much of it(!) and nothing to lose at that point.
I have now used it for 3 weeks and it has been a life saver. I now love it as an all over body lotion and can't imagine using something greasier again! Ads state that this is therapeutic in that it will heal skin over time. I may always get dry patches but this has made me look and feel a lot better. It seems to make my skin supple again and I could not have fathomed saying that just a short time ago. It helped decrease the tightness and I find that even though I can now use self tanner again, (I am paler than pale naturallY!), I like my skin again, so rarely do. Once or twice since starting this regimen (of using Aveeno all over twice a day) I have applied the lightest version of a gradual self tanner, and one coat! Yes that's huge as I always used med. to dark and applied several coats at once not waiting a couple of days to get darker! This will feel qquite different than your avg. moisturizer, don't be put off by that. Stick with it, use it straight out of the shower, and give it some time as I did. Amazing stuff.
