I found it to be a good staple foundation. The color selection is great, application is smooth and easy and overall it looked nice. I did notice though that I had to use pressed powder 2 times more on that day, but it wasn't too much since my skin looked and felt good. I have oly t-zone in summer so it stayed relatively well. I would buy it again.
My face gets super oily by the end of the day. No other makeup has ever made me this greasy, I held a tissue up to my face and it looked like a paper towel when you first put it on top of a spill. Otherwise it looks nice and goes on smoothly, so good for people who don't have oily skin.
I really wanted to like this foundation...but another disappiontment from clinique. For me at least. If you have normal to dry skin this might work for you, but if you're oily you may want to stay away. In less than an hour of application I was a greasy mess. I had to pat poweder on almost every hour on the hour. And it totally emphasized all the pores on my face. By end of day it had pretty much melted off. The only positive is that it is very light weight and does not cake like I find with most of the other Clinique foundations that I've tried.
I went to the Clinique counter to buy Soft Ivory in one of the older foundations but they no longer carry it. Not only that, they don't carry the pale shades any longer.
I ended up with the lightest they had in Alabaster. It's not bad but it's not the greatest, either. Although I really do like the consistency of the formula, there is something about it that isn't right. I can't put my finger on what it is except to say I could probably find just as decent a formulation for about half the price at a drugstore counter. That's my overall opinion these days, especially when it comes to finding blush and foundation for fair-skinned people of European descent. I'd better start reading more of these reviews to find out what other people in that category are buying because so far the old dept. store dependables are no longer cutting it for me.
I tried this is in a sample and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations. While the consistency was a little thicker than I had hoped, it stayed put ALL day. I'm talking, 12 hours+ worth of staying power and that almost NEVER happens with me and makeup. I'd like to try it again when the weather's humid or a little warmer to see if it stays put as long. I liked the way my skin looked all day too. The fndtn had a nice sheen to it which gave off an almost dewy look instead of a matte finish. I'm going to Clinique tomorrow to purchase this. I'll update in a few weeks :)
I purchased this in Alabaster, which is the lightest shade available. I would call it Fair-Light with neutral undertones. I wear MAC NC20-25, so I was surprised at the lack of fair tones in the Even Better line, since I usually wear the second or third lightest shade in any given foundation line. The coverage is medium, and the finish is satiny.
I use a loose setting powder over Even Better, and usually end up blotting after wearing this foundation for about an hour, because I get quite oily. It does last almost all day for me, but I wish it was a little bit less dewy.
Got this product as a free sample. I know everyone was raving about this product, and was rather excited to try it. Neutral was a perfect match for my skin, which was great, because it's really hard for me to find foundations that match my skintone. It was very easy to apply and stayed matte after 8 hours (which was when I removed it).
However, I won't be purchasing this because I felt the coverage was a little too full for my liking (to the extent that it seemed unnatural). While it felt light, the full coverage gave me the feeling that I was heavily made up. Removal was quite difficult with just my facial cleansers alone, but removes very easily with makeup remover. My blemishes seemed a little aggravated when I had washed off the makeup. I think I probably need something that doesn't aggravate my pimples as much, so I will stick to my mineral foundation for now.
OMG, this is the foundation I have been looking for!! I received a sample of this in allure and I am in love. Most foundations that are liquid, feel mask-like on my face and just roll off of it and I end up scrubbing them off and the coverage is just so so. This stuff is fab. I got neutral and it looks like I'm not wearing anything. My skin looks airbrushed. It covers up every imperfection and in one word, THIS ROCKS!!! I am off to find it somewhere in the larger tube!
I also sampled this in Allure, and was very pleasantly surprised. I have oily skin in my t-zone, and usually nothing but my B.E. foundation works for me. I found that with this foundation, it not only worked, but gave my skin a very nice soft focus finish. I did not find that it settled into or highlighted any flaws in my skin. I would def buy this again!
I sampled this from a allure magazine. I thought it was VERY nice. sheer and natural. soft-focus coverage and not greasy. I will coonsider buying this. I think this is the first Clinique product I have ever liked...They finally got something right!
