American Cream Conditioner is an okay conditioner. What I'm trying to say is I guess I've have had better...I do like the smell of this product! The texture could be a thicker, but it really does moisturize the hair well. I can feel my dry hair just drink it up. The scent stays on your hair all day. I like Retread much better, but American Cream is more affordable.
i love this. it's quite expensive for what it is in relation to the amount you get, but it's really amazing on my damaged hair after too much bleaching, dying, and heated styling products. after use, it felt so so soft, something it hadn't felt in ages. it really replenishes my hair, and smells delish!
Yikes, I used this and after blow drying my hair and I had the worst static. I have long fine hair, that isn't damaged so I thought that it would do the job but sadly no. Gives me another reason as to why I usually don't go to LUSH. The smell was horrible, it reminded me of motor oil (maybe it was a bad batch). Either way, not worth buying or recommending.
If people are judging their reviews on the lack of "slip" you feel when using this, then I understand the low ratings. However, as a person who has been dying/processing her hair for over 24 years, I can say this really works for me. I LOVE the scent, but I also love the way this makes my hair FEEL. Initially I was craving the "slip" feel that conditioners laden with silicones give, but after trusting my Lush Sale Rep, I gave it a chance. If you really massage it into your ends, and use a wide tooth comb in the shower to distribute, you will notice the conditioning effects right away. give it a chance. Also, at time while in the shower it has a tendency to smell plastic-y yet, once I get out of the shower and towel dry my hair, the smell is Awesome! My hubby loves it, and I just realized they have re-released Gorilla Perfume in American Cream scent at Lush and I just ordered TWO bottles, because I am that addicted to the scent. LOVE this conditioner!

i just used this. the lush lady recommended it to me at the third street promenade in LA i also got the daddy-o shampoo. love the shampoo HATE this conditioner. smells awful, i love vanilla even and it smells like plastic children cupcake but if you had burnt it. smells extremely plastic. and is giving me a headache. hope they can make a return... :/
i got the smallest size of this to try out and i'm glad i did because i'm not really a fan of this conditioner. it smells a little too strong and even though i don't mind it, it can get overwhelming. this doesn't seem to condition my hair at all and makes the ends of my hair feel drier if anything.

Pro: smells great, scent lasts for hours, even days.
Cons: Not moisturizing. At all. Actually leaves hair dryer.
I got this as a gift, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the scent. But I have long, fine, curly hair that gets colored often and needs lots of clean-rinsing but moisturizing conditioner to be nice. And this is NOT that.
I actually find my hair feels more dry after I use it than if I were to use nothing at all.
That said, I have found a use for this- when I'm trying to stretch one more day without a shampoo, using this "conditioner", focusing on massaging it in to the roots, helps get rid of a little of the oiliness and leaves my hair smelling great. This isn't surprising- it actually has SLS in it, if you read the ingredients list.
However, it does not moisturize or soften the ends at all, and there is NO "slip" to it- be sure there are no tangles in your hair before you apply this, because it won't help to detangle at all. I definitely can't use it more than one day in a row, because the ends of my hair start to feel like straw. And due to the SLS, I wouldn't use it as a mask or leave-in as some people have mentioned- SLS is safest if you rinse it off promptly, and don't give it hours or days to sit on your skin.
This isn't a terrible product for the way that I use it, but It hardly feels like a conditioner at all. If someone had given this to me and told me it was a shampoo, I would probably have believed them. I have no idea what conditioner people who describe it as thick or super-conditioning have been using previously, but it is definitely neither.
This and Curly Wurly are my HG! Love, love, love this. It makes my hair smell so delicious and the smell lasts pretty long. I can take a shower at night, straighten my hair the next morning and when I go for a shower that night I can still smell it. It also makes my hair soft and makes my curls more manageable. I am on my second bottle and will repurchase
