I love this mascara!!!! I wear it everyday and it gives me amazing length and volume!! I would recommend this mascara to anyone. For those that don't like it - obviously everyone has their own personal opinion but I think this mascara is definitely not one that you can be lazy with. You need to take your time and apply it properly and it will do an amazing job!!!! If you apply it sloppily, yes, it will be clumpy and look bad. But that's just my opinion, I love this mascara and I think everyone should give it a try because it really does work!!

I've heard some rave reviews about this mascara and I was totally excited to try out a really good mascara for half the price of a high quality one. Well, sure the price was great (kind of expensive still for a drugstore brand though) but I don't know what the hype is all about. It may be because I'm not really into wet formulas for mascara because this irritated my eyes to no end!! I use MAC's Opulash and it is kind of a drier formula so I'm more used to that. This one just clumps up and gives me spider lashes. One good side to it is that if I add only one coat of this over opulash it looks decent. But I will definitely not be buying this again, oh well.

Very average. Not bad but not amazing. Adds length and volume but not remarkably so on either count.

I did like the Carbon Black color.

It is extremely liquidy and runny. Also takes forever to dry.

Was not too impressed.

I wish I could love this product because it gives a beautiful finish to the lashes; it really does voluminize and separate the lashes beautifully. However, it is smudge city not too long after you apply it. And lawd forbid you put it on your lower lashes! Youll look like a raccoon by the end of the day. Really disappointing.

This mascara worked out very well for me! A lot of product comes on the wand, but other than that it really helped lengthen my lashes and add some volume without clumping easily. I got this at walmart for $5ish close to $6.. anywhere else will be a couple dollars more. Overall, for a drugstore mascara I had a good experience with it!

What i like about this mascara:

* great length & medium volume

* good separation of lashes

* not dry not liquid formula

What I hate about this mascara:

* small dry clumps of mascara comes EVERY time you take the want out of the tube & these clumps stick like no other on your lashes

* it's not carbon black ! it's not even a black black

* the MAJOR issue i have with this mascara is the panda eyes I have after just 5 hours of wear !! so annoying continued >>

I really like how this product works, it really does create voluminous lashes. I have long, curly lashes to begin with, but I lack volume. I used to Lancome and smashbox mascaras, but I got sick of paying so much for mascara since I like to use a new one every month (bacteria, drying, etc). This mascara makes my lashes look just as good as the expensive ones.

I'm always on the lookout for a HG mascara from the drugstore. My lashes are asian and short, hence i usually get the waterproof version of any mascara.

This mascara does give a lot of volume to my lashes. It gives some length, but, as the name suggests, length is not its strength.

3 hours later, this mascara had transferred/smudged all along my lower eye area. I wear concealer here naturally, so i understand the oils in there must have broken it down, but no waterproof mascara had ever smudged this badly.

Then when I tried to take it off in the evening, it took about 2 cotton pads per eye with neutrogena eye makeup remover...and this is when i'd already washed my face with facewash.

So if you want a mascara that looks good but you'll have to constantly check whether you have panda eyes and you enjoy spending hours taking off your mascara, by all means get the waterproof one.

Never again L'oreal!

I am a huge fan of Diorshow Blackout; it's my HG mascara. I will purchase it as long as Dior makes it. What I dislike about the Dior, however, is the price! As a graduate student, I try to save money where I can, so I have been actively searching for dupes of my favorite products.

I randomly read a review that said Carbon Black is just like Blackout, and of course it's 1/3 of the price, so who am I not to try it? I was actually pretty impressed by this mascara. I put this one one eye and Blackout on the other, and compared them. Overall, Blackout is STILL the blackest mascara; Carbon Black was noticeably lighter on my lashes than Blackout was. Blackout also makes my eyelashes longer. However, Carbon Black makes my lashes look thicker than Blackout, and if I spend a little time curling and reapplying a few more coats just so, I can get a really sexy panoramic effect. Carbon Black clumps more and takes a bit longer to dry, but it's a DS mascara and that's why lash combs were invented. It's still not a match for Blackout, but it's a great formula and a really affordable alternative. I would happily purchase this product again, because I feel it's versatile, nice quality, and worth its price point.
