i wished i could say i really like this coz i am generally attracted to most benefit products - maybe its the marketing though!
the good points of this product are 1) natural looking cheeks and lip stains 2) long lasting!
the bad points are: 1) hate the packaging! the brush is too small for the use on my cheeks so i got to use my fingers to spread it out 2) you may end up with 3 spots on your cheek if you are not careful and coz its so long lasting, those spots are not easy to get off 3) taste pretty bitter 4) price wise, i think the body shop will do the trick at a cheaper price!
sigh, i really wish i like this product better though! everyone is a fan but me! i may may just re-purchase this just to try it once more!
Not a big fan of Benefit here, but that doesn't stop me from trying their products. This comes in a nail polish like container. You have to be careful where you place it on your face because it almost stains the skin. It has a pleasant rose scent.
I personally don't like any product you have to rub in, it makes my fair sensitive skin red so I can't tell the intensity of the product until my skin calms down. By then it's too late to do any correction work. Will not repurchase.
One of the best cosmetics I have ever owned. I really like how natural it looks - it doesn't look like I'm wearing makeup. I was a little afraid that the color would be too berry, because I thought it looked too berry or a little too pink in the reviews I found on through a google search. It looks perfect and very natural on me, though. It works better on cheeks than on lips in my opinion. It doesn't give much color to my already naturally red lips, and it tastes a little bitter. Also, I wish it lasted longer. It lasts for about 6-7 hours, but it already starts to fade after only 2 hours. Unlike many other reviewers, I really like the packaging. But I store it in a drawer in my bedroom so I don't risk a cat or boyfriend dropping it on the a hard bathroom floor. I also really like the nail polish style brush, unlike other reviewers - I use my fingers to blend anyway, and I just use the brush to apply dots of color before blending. The tint comes off the brush easily, and I think it's a good way to apply this very runny water-like tint.
A bit on the pricey side, but not too bad, especially since it lasts well.
So why do I give it 5 lipsticks when I don't think benetint is perfect? Since it's the makeup product I like the most, giving it 4 lipsticks would make it impossible for any other product to get more than 3 lipsticks. I think it deserves about 4.5 in overall rating.

I love the natural look it gives
It stays on for a long time even under the sun and heat
One of my all time favorites <3 continued >>
Benetint by Benefit Cosmetics is one of my makeup essentials. I like to buy the mini duo set from Sephora because you get a mini benetint and a mini high beam liquid highlighter for around $20. I couldn't find the set online but I believe they still carry it in the store. The last one that I purchased was summer 2012.
I have fair, freckled skin that tends to stay on the dry side. Most powders tend to look cakey on me so I like to stick with creamier products. This has been the only cheek stain that I've tried but it's works so well that I don't feel the need to test any other brands! This absolutely makes my skin glow. I LOVE the color. It's very buildable so use with caution as it is a stain and is very pigmented. I swipe a couple of times and let it sit for about 15 seconds before wiping it into my cheek in an upwards motion towards my hairline. I have found that if I am going to be out all day and want my makeup to last, I will layer a powder blush on top of my Benetint. My blush stays perfect all day!
This is one of Benefit's bestselling products and it is very versatile for a range of skin tones. Try it out! It's great, especially if you like to keep makeup to a minimum :)
i loved this on my cheeks and lips!
however for my cheeks, it took some time for me to really master it
for the lips, i loved how it's natural looking and much better than other lip stains that i've used, such as the revlon one.
I really like this as a stain for my lips. It's just a great color- it looks pretty, but still natural. I usually don't wear glosses or lipstick- I tend to prefer a tint/stain and lip balm. This product lasts forever (at least when you only use it on your lips), I've had the small sample/travel bottle for about a year now. Will definitely repurchase when I run out.
This is a staple in my makeup bag! The bottle seems quite small for the price, but I purchased this over a year ago, and the bottle is still half full; I wear this everyday on my cheeks and lips. The colour is so natural, it very much achieves, the "blush from within" look. Definite repurchase!
I have used Benetint as my blush and a lip stain for several years. I have very fair skin, but I did not find the color over-powering. It gave me a nice flush. I would just dot the product up my cheekbones and then blend with my fingers in a circular fashion to blend. My only minor complaint with this is that it does stain your fingertips.
Does it last? Well not all day, but it lasts much longer than powder blushes ever do. Now, on your lips is a different story. I do not find that it lasts on lips at all. So it is not worth buying this product as a lip stain.
Is the price worth it? This product does seem expensive if you just look at the cost. However, I have found that a bottle lasts about 2 years or more. Considering how long the product lasts, I find this product to be very affordable.
A word about the packaging. This is packaged like nail polish, which may turn some off because they are scared the glass will break or it will spill. I personally have not had any issues. I have traveled all over with this stuff and it has never spilled in my makeup case. I am also a total klutz and have dropped the bottle on tile several times but it has never chipped or broken.
Ok, so why only two lippies? Well, I am fairly certain that this product is causing me to break out on my cheeks. I have had moderate acne for years and in recent months got my face clear. Around the same time, I stopped using the Benetint (dont know why, I just did). Two weeks ago, I saw it at the bottom of my makeup case and began using again...and the deep, almost cystic zits on my cheeks have returned. I know a lot of people with acne use this product without issues but it is formulated with ingredients that can clog pores so it may not work well for all. Furthermore, the brush applicator is difficult to clean and is submerged in the product which makes it easy to contaminate the product with bacteria. Another word of caution...this product is made with rose extract. The pro of this is that the product smells like roses, but if you are allergic this might not be for you.
I first received this in a mini as a freebie, the tiny size of which lasted for two years! Admittedly it was in rotation with other blushes, but still, I find that remarkable.
I've just run out and bought a full size. I love how this stain makes my cheeks look healthy, not obviously blushed. It's fantastic for layering with other blushes.
I don't love it on my lips-that is, I love the colour but it doesn't stay on very long for me.
To use I just draw two or three stripes across the cheekbone and blend. It's always worn well for me regardless of which foundation I've used underneath. It transcends seasons, but I find it particularly beautiful on winter-pale skin.
