Schiap is a very bright semi-matte hot pink lipstick. I find it is the perfect color for the summer, brightens my complexion and jut makes me look fresh and awake. On it's own it's a bit too bright for daytime for myself but I find if I add a touch of MAC's Perennial High Style (from their Liberty of London collection) on top it just softens the color without detracting from the beauty of the shade. Best to keep your blush and eye makeup neutral since this is such a strong shade but I will definitely be repurchasing this lipstick.

Color: bright, beautiful pink (sephora lists it as a "semi matte shocking pink"

packaging: love the matte finish, same style as other NARS cosmetics. simple, sleek, cute

formula: this was my first NARS lipstick and .. it had a weird smell to it (maybe this is their regular lipstick smell, without any fruity/candy scent?) it wasn't TOO strong, but I wasn't a fan. Also, I know this was a matte lipstick but I found it quite drying to the point where it was difficult to apply, almost. I usually wore this with a gloss on top (too dry lips? no way!) , which made my lips look gorgeous :D

NARS lipsticks are .12oz but it looked smaller than other lipsticks..

end result: I returned it because it was $24 (compared to MAC $14) and I felt that I shouldn't keep it if I wasn't completely (or at least closer to it) satisfied with it.

too bad, it was one of my more favorite eye-searing bright pinks :( .

Great perennial hot pink - it's been around a few seasons and stays very fresh and current. I'm NW25, brunette and just grew my hair out and cut bangs...so I've been gravitating toward stronger lip colors lately to make my face pop a little.
This is great with either very neutral eye or black liner/mascara. It's a Nars matte so a little dry: do a lip balm before and then Mac prep & prime protective undercoat so you don't dry out and also so it lasts. (And it lasts.) Nice. continued >>

I am absolutely in love with this lipstick! It's a bright neon barbie pink on me- definitely something I would wear to stand out. I wear it quite often, day and night. Since I have dark hair and medium colouring (NC30) it goes with both, day and night looks. I can wear this with a silver or grey smokey eye or a neutral look and both will be dramatic enough to stand out without looking trashy. It's like my alternative to a red lip. Its semi matte texture is not drying on my lips and stays on hours without end. I've worn it the whole day without having to touch up! The packaging is alright, there's nothing really special about it. It's not cheap considering how often I wear it but it was worth every penny :)

this is a very loud & bright hot pink...suits my c4/c5 w/ yelllow undertone skintone....best to match with a neutral eye....i actually like to use nars chelsea girls over this to tone this down a bit and make it more wearable...prefer the look this way than on its own. continued >>

I really love Schiap, a matte pigmented hot pink. It's just the perfect shade (not to light, not too dark) and looks very modern with the matte finish. Works best for me to wear a bit of Chapstick under it. If you are going to go hot pink, you really should just do it and this is the way to accomplish that.

this ended my search for the perfect hot pink lipstick. everything in the past had always been just a little too fuchsia, too red, too sheer, too cool-toned, etc. -- but this is amazing. i'm nc20 and very yellow-toned and this works flawless with my coloring. the color payoff is amazing, the semi-matte finish is perfect and i can't complain about the staying power... never any problems with feathering or bleeding. would definitely repurchase, i'm such a fan.

I hate pink..especially hot pinks. But man! I'm going crazy over this lipstick. I think this will be my first and last hot pink lipstick! I love it coz for one, it's matte and staying power is great! I'm an NC 30/35 and Asian.

i am a NC25 at my palest. i luuuurve the color!!
it looks super eye catching and bright but in a very stylish, modern way. nothing tacky about it.
i like the matte finish.
all girls who want to stand out and have the attitude to wear it: get it! or at least try it!
i will def buy it again.
since its not a color i would wear daily, the price doesn't bother me much.

I love this color! It is the brightest pink I've been able to find. I am very pale (NW15-20) and this color is very flattering on my skintone. Because it is semi-matte, it keeps it modern and you don't look trashy. So for those who complain it is dry, that is kind of the point of the finish, but hey, you can always throw on a gloss if you want to. I think it is best when worn with a neutral clean eye and a simple outfit to keep it classy with just the lips as the focus.
