Phloof! looked like a beautiful shimmery highlighter colour at the counter, but when I applied it, it looked rather disco-tastic! I wouldn't get it again as I like a more subtle look.
My dear, beloved phloof has saved me on several occasions. It just seems to brighten up my eyes and waken me up. It's the perfect highlight colour for me - hazel eyes/nc15 skin.
My advice? Don't pass up the chance to try this. I promise you won't regret it!
Love this! HG highlighter.
Mac Phloof! is a frosty whitish champagne with a hint of pink. It goes on a tad brighter than it appears like in the pot. As with the other Mac eyeshadows (at least the ones I have tried), it's quite pigmented so you don't need much product.
My skin is dehydrated and a lot of eyeshadows looks dry and chalky when applied to my face other than my eyelids (which are oily). Phloof! does not. It's more creamy, and goes on a lot more smooth. It looks *gorgeous* when applied to the inner corner of my eyes! It stays on for a really long time, too. I occasionally use this under my brow as a highlight, and on my lip groove.
If you opt for a very natural look, however, Phloof! might not be for you. For people wanting the eyeshadow to completely 'disappear', this can look a tad too frosty. For reference I have fair skin, or light-medium, but if you have darker than medium skin, I can imagine you would have to be more careful, or, don't go with Phloof!.
EDIT: Hmm, I stopped using this a long time ago. Found it to be a little too metallic and cool toned (for me). It's also not that long-wearing IMO. Don't think it's bad though
One of my favorite highlight colors. A cool soft shimmery pinkish-nude color. Highly pigmented, doesn't crease, wears all day.
GREAT highlighter! I bought multiples so i would never run out. Its great for an all over lid color when you really want to do a "wow" look. I don't find it to have too much shimmer like some of the other reviews. I even use it on the tops of my cheekbones sometimes to make them pop.
My favourite highlighter. Great to highlight tearducts and the browbone yes its shimmery but if you just use a soft swipe on the highest point of your brows it looks natural and sophisticated. I use this most days and will buy it again.
one of my first MAC purchases and not too impressed. its very shimmery even for a highlight color. i used it as an all-over lid color today and it was very hard to blend.
I'm only using this to highlight my brow bones. That's what I bought it for and that's what it's doing perfectly. It's a lovely, universal colour and also helps to brighten up the inner eye area. I got this after completely using up the whites in my two(!) "family silver" mineralize eyeshadows. While the latter added a lot of shine and shimmer, Phloof is more on the softer side. It sure is a frost e/s but not as shimmery as the mineral e/s. The glow is rather sophisticated, polished and still natural. Totally love it.
Phloof! is probably my favourite highlighter. I was worried it might be too frosty and harsh (especially for someone my age) but I checked out the reviews here and figured I would give it a try. It has become one of my most used shadows. It's great as a wash or as an inner corner highlight and it is perfect for waking up my eyes and doing a very simple "one shadow" eye with some liner and maybe a bit of mascara. I also use it as a cheek highlighter and even to light up my "cupid's bow". I will never be without Phloof! and if MAC discontinues it, I will purchase 3 or 4 backups!
Really frosty. A great highlight, though.
