I love this foundation for when I need heavier coverage. The lightest shade is a perfect match for my skin and it stays on for hours and hours when I wear it with primer. I also like how you can use it wet for lighter coverage. The only thing I would say about this product is that it has a weird smell - I believe one reviewer coined it old lady floral. I have given it 3 lippies because the smell is really annoying and sometimes the foundation can look cakey and mask-like if I don't apply it well. I probably won't repurchase.

Big fan of this stuff, smells a bit funny which is annoying and i can't let anyone near my face (no kisses!) for a few minutes after until the smell goes away! covers really well & i personally like the fact it's not matt, doesn't linger on dry patches and doesn't tend to crack. Ive been on here looking for reviews on other foundations to see if perhaps there is something better out there. But after reading these reviews, I came to realize that in fact this is the best foundation on the market, this is the 6th year I have been using Elizabeth Arden cream compact in beige 40 (one shade darker than my face color, as my face is much whiter than my overall skin tone) the creaminess is pure luxury and when I change products I always go back to this foundation. I suffer from breakouts a lot, so it was recommended that I change foundations as maybe this was clogging my skin. I have come to the conclusion that my acne is caused by stress and hormone imbalance, not my make up, as it was fine up until recently. But if you get a break out, make sure you wash the sponge before applying the foundation the next day to prevent spreading the bacteria. Washing the sponge is one sure way to prevent further breakouts and also ensure great coverage every time. Its quick and easy and always even! I get compliments on my flawless skin everyday...little do people know whats actually underneath!!!

Just to say that this is perfect. It not only provides varied flawless coverage (from full to sheer) but the application is speedy and the finish is creamy and healthy. This is supposed to fall into the high-end price category but it was only £16 at Boots which in my opinion is fairly reasonable for high-end. I have used it everyday for 4 months and reckon I have at least another 3 months to go before it needs replacing. The compact packaging is useful too to carry around and do touch-ups and use as concealer. I really don't think I will ever feel a need to buy another foundation ever (and that is coming from someone who bought nearly 30 high-end foundations in 1 year to find the perfect one). Eureka - this is the one!!!!! Goodluck! By the way, this is the first ever product I purchased from Elizabeth Arden - I had always been a bit dismissive of them and considered them to be boring and matriachal. I had heard of this foundation many many years ago and when I enquired at the counter the SA told me it has been a best seller for 20 years. And now I know why. xx

I haven't use foundation in over 3 years but since I fell in love with my Lancome concealer, I decided to retry it. Since there was a GWP at the Elizabeth Arden counter, I decided to try it out. The lady at the counter says this is the foundation she uses. I will admit I only got this foundation just because of the gift. The packaging is really nice and looks very high end. In the store, the lady piled it on and I almost didn't like it cause it looked 'dusty' on my face. At a distance my skin looks perfect and flawless but closer you can see I'm wearing makeup and it's not a nice feeling. It's a bit cakey but I've basically given up finding a foundation that doesn't look cakey or streaky. The foundation is a bit oily and makes my face a bit shiny but not too an awful extent. I wear this with my Lancome concealer under it and my acne scars and pimples aren't as apparent or gone(at a distance). I really don't like the sponge due to the smell. It's very chemical and just too much. But I'll just deal. This foundation isn't too bad so give it a try if you have the money. The only thing I'm confused and annoyed about it that this oil has come from the foundation and smeared around the mirror and the pan that the foundation is in. I love the packaging so much! It looks so pretty in my makeup bag and I think I'll even use put it in my bag for school, something I never do with foundation. Another thing is that the color selection was awful. I'm Asian so I tend to need a yellow undertone but the shades were pretty too rosy or just some other problem.

***Update: I have used this for about a week or so and I have come to like it, despite the smell (which is actually from the foundation and sponge) which is, for lack of a better term, old lady floral. Damping the sponge overnight and having a little water in the sponge works wonderfully. It looks less cakey and gives more control to the product. I don't reapply during my 9 hour school day which is sometimes longer for activiities so I've found that it doesn't last that long. There's a little where it's stayed because I have places more there but not as much as I wish. My face hasn't gotten that oiler from the product; just the normal as I suffer from. I have had a few breakouts but it's more due to stress. All in all, not a bad product.

Great Foundation for travelling, gals on the go and those who like multi use products! I have used this product on and off for 11 years!!! (wow that made me feel old) Its very creamy so great for dryer and dehydrated skins and combined with a good powder great for combination skins too. Oily skins will probabally need a good matifier underneath to stop it sliding off!
I love this foundation as its so quick and easy to appy and blend into the skin, you can even double up your coverage on areas or use it alone in places as it makes a great concealer too!!
The only negative i have is that it does seem to have that old lady smell to it...but dont let that put you off!!

I really like this foundation. It's my back-up foundation and works when everything else does not, but the color doesn't match exactly. I bought it in Vanilla because that was the lightest shade they had, but I'm assuming Ivory would have fit a lot better since Vanilla is equivalent to MAC's NC 25 and I'm an NC 15, but this gives great coverage and is one of my most faves... hopefully I'll find Ivory somewhere.

This is my go-to product for touch-ups during the day. Although I use Double-Wear (Lauder) in the AM, I use this to cover any spots during the day (like undereye circles, blemishes, or areas where I touched my face & wiped off DW). It blends very well and looks extremely natural/radiant. I have combo skin with some breakouts. I wear Soft Beige (Desert Beige in DW & MAC NW20). You can easily try the foundations at Arden counters yourself, which is nice. continued >>

I was really dissapointed with this product, it makes your skin look very shiny even after i put a powderr over the top. It did not hide any of my acne scarring, in fact it made it look worse! i would not reccommend this to people with problem skin.

its quite a glamourous foundation. classical coverage, really sleek classical pakaging. quick and easy to apply. this stuff is really thick and heavy so you have to apply with a really light hand-and when you get it right you look naturally flawless. If you build it up too much then you will look flawless but in that wax work kind of way which is not really a good look. in terms of sponge on creme foundation this stuff is top of the range i think. I love the mirror, and how compact and portable it is. although im quite young I think this type of make up is better for maturer skin for age spots and lines, but I think the consistency suits my skin type because I have an uneven skin tone and loads of old acne marks. bare this in mind and two comments ive had while wearing this-one from my mum "your skin is looking nice these days" and another from a nurse-"youre not wearing any make up-youve got nice skin". yes! result! love it when that happens
