This is such a great cheap shine serum. It does not make my hair greasy. The texture is more gel-like than other serums. I bought it on a whim last year and have stuck with it ever since. Wonderful product.
I started using this years ago when I bleached and colored my hair on a regular basis. A drop is all I need for super shiny, conditioned hair. If you look at the ingredients, this is the same as all of the salon shine products at a fraction of the price. A great find!
I have very fine straight hair and a drop of this stuff keeps it shiny and free of fly-aways all day without weighing my hair down too much. if I use too much my hair looks and feels greasy and heavy..but just a drop works perfectly. plus you get a good amount of product. I have had the same tube for over a year now and it's still half full. great product and an even greater price.
This prodcut is wonderful. I think it might weigh down thin hair, but for my thick, curly hair it is good at keeping it sleek and smooth. The smell is nice too. Update: Weighs my hair down, and builds up. I have products with silicones, but this product has too much!
This stuff works better (in my opinion) than Frizz Ease. You get so much more too. I can wear my hair down in rainy weather!
Plus it's so cheap!! Doesn't get any better!
Great stuff! A little went a long way, smoothed my frizz prone waves effectively, smelled nice and CHEAP!! Definitely a repurchase :)
Simply the BEST silicone serum (at the best price) I've ever bought! I hope they don't discontinue it now that the company has been sold.
Two words: LOVE THIS!!
I bought this months ago, just to try out, and I've bought it again since then....it's amazing! It works well to combat frizz, and I love using it when I straighten my hair.
It lasts a long time, the packaging is cute, and it's a very good price! I will continue to repurchase this!
This product isn't terrible-- in fact, it's comparable to the higher-end, more expensive Frizz-Ease serum-- but it rarely works to give me true "glossy" hair. More often than not, I end up with greasy, stringy-looking hair. This product probably works better with curly hair than straight hair like mine, so if a product like Frizz-Ease worked well for you, you should probably check out this less-expensive version. But for me, it just felt like loading glycerine goo into my hair...added weight and plastered it down.
I can't believe that I've let all this time go by without reviewing this. For me, glossy is a HG product, all the way. I'm growing out my naturally curly, thick hair, and it is just past my shoulders now, so this is an absolute necessity.
This product helps keep my curls curly instead of fuzzy. I use a little in the palm of my hand (sometimes mixed with Burt's Bees Apricot Baby Oil, but it isn't necessary...it performs well all by itself), and I apply to damp, freshly washed hair. What I do is make sure my hair is combed through (I normally comb it with a wide-toothed comb in the shower, after I put on conditioner and before I rinse, and then I run the comb through again after I get out), put some product on the palms of my hands, rub together, and apply to my hair, being sure to get more than just the top layer (really the secret to any good style). I try to concentrate this more on the ends than the roots, but the roots do need a little coat of this. This isn't a styling product, but an anti-frizz, so I use something else for styling. After I apply both this and styling product, I arrange hair with my fingers (I don't comb through again). But this totally keeps my dry, naturally spirally hair tamed and under control, even in the high summer Midwestern humidity. And, if I need to, I can spot-treat on dry hair with this.
I started buying this when I noticed the ingredients were exactly the same as Frizz-Ease (but probably in slightly different amounts, since this is not quite the same consistency), but for much more product at less price with a MUCH better bottle (I don't possess enough patience in my body to deal with Frizz-Ease's drop applicator). The plastic squeeze bottle makes it much easier to dispense the product and I've used empty bottles for so many other things! Plus, this is easier to work with than Frizz-Ease...not as slippery, but still slippery. And at a price that is cheaper, too...I pay about $6 for this at Kroger, the only place in my town I can buy it (Wal-Mart used to carry it at about $4 a bottle, but they discontinued it...grr), and it will last me anywhere from ten days to two weeks. Absolute, total, complete HG hair product for me, and I never use any other kind of frizz treatment. continued >>
