I tried this fragrance years ago when it first came out & really liked it...except it had zero staying power. Because of that, I didn't repurchase again until recently. I was ready to try it again, & purchased the EDP. This DOES NOT smell like it used to! It is very sweet, & smells of berries & vanilla....mainly berries, & that's about it. It used to have a warmth about it, & was slightly sexy, but now it is a total foodie scent. I spray this on at night after I bathe, & that's about all it's good for as far as I'm concerned. Very unsexy, & disappointing.
EDIT: I've lowered this to 1 lippie. Phil. has ruined this fragrance- it's awful. continued >>

I am extremely sensitive to scent, & this makes choosing a perfume next to impossible for me. Most are completely over-powering, or I just plain don't care for the scent. This is not the case for Falling in Love. I absolutely love this scent, & it's nice & light. Unfortunately, this is also a problem; It is SO light, that the scent fades very, very quickly. I got a little atomizer of this from Sephora & carry it in my purse for touch-ups during the day. continued >>
i'm stating up front, i am a gourmand afficianado! i can see the comparisons to aquolina's pink sugar, but cotton candy? i don't see that. it has a fresh blueberry/ blackberry scent, lots of sugar, and some warmth...maybe the musk. a very lovely clean laundry scent. it's fabulous. my man loved it, out of 30 or so fragrances i stick-tested in sephora, he remarked FALLING IN LOVE was his favorite. that's out of all of fresh's line, and some other gourmands. i bought the oil rollerball, but haven't opened it yet. 2 hours after application of 2 tiny squirts, i smelled it full blast on my wrists when i lifted my arms up to put on my coat. i am SO please the fragrance gods found me worthy of this scent! it's a keeper!

This is one of the few fragrances that I will definetely buy again. It is not too overpowering for daytime. I fell in love when I got free sample and had to get a big bottle asp. Always get compliments when wearing this one. I love the sweet vanilla, and it is hard to find sweet fragrances that suit my age.
PROS: I personally love both this and Unconditional Love. It is a fragrance that is not overpowering, subtle and soft, very woodsy with a hint of berry. DOES NOT BOTHER MY HUSBAND'S ALLERGIES. He is usually bothered by most fragrances.
CONS: Well, not everyone loves this one. Some think it smells a little odd. ("Unconditional Love" is a more universally liked scent.) It doesn't last very long on the skin.
APPLICATION TIPS: The roller-ball perfume oil version of this lasts longer than the spray bottle versions.
ALTERNATES: Trish McEvoy's Blackberry & Vanilla Musk lasts longer, but this is less expensive. And Bath and Body Works has a nice black raspberry/vanilla line that is even less expensive than this.

There was a time when I loved this perfume but no more. :(
At the time I liked that is smelled sweet, like cotton candy but after I wear it awhile it begins to smell different . . . . my fiancee was the first to pin down just what it smelled like - sweet egg yokes. I know, I know, it sounds weird but honestly it does end up smelling so different at the end of the day than when you first put it on. And well, its like egg yokes, not rotten eggs or anything but sweet ones. It was nice in the beginning. Oh well, I am now on the hunt for a new fragrance.
This is my HG scent. I usually wear it most days of the week as it is a nice, subtle daytime scent.
The scent is sweet and fresh....blackberries, vanilla, and maybe a little floral. A lot of people say it smells like cotton candy, but I don't necessarily agree. There is something very bubbly about the scent. If you don't like sweet fragrances, this is not for you.
My one gripe (hence the 3 out of 5 lippies) is that is has NO LASTING POWER whatsoever. Not to mention, Philosophy products are by no means cheap. Most days, I use the FIL shower gel, body lotion, body splash, and roll-on perfume (I had the EDP spray but ran out). A few hours later, the scent is completely gone. I even keep a roll-on of a FIL dupe in my desk at work to do a touch up!
I'm disappointed that this has no lasting power, but it smells too good to give up...what can I say...I've fallen in love with Falling in Love!

I have the oil roller ball in this scent and just bought the fragrance spray today. I have to say i love the fragrance spray even better! This scent is just so yummy! I wish the staying power was a little longer, but even in the concentrated oil in this scent it doesn't last all that long. ( which is why i took one lippie off) the good thing is at only $40 bucks for a pretty decent size bottle of it you can spray as much as you want and go buy more! I think this is a zillion times better then trish mcevoy #9. People like to compare the two a lot and while they do have a very similar scent to each other I find falling in love to be sweeter, more girly, more flirty and a lot cleaner smelling then #9. I would def buy this scent again.
