I am actually reviewing the Nexxus Aloxxi Polymedic Emergency Reconstructor. This is the professional version of Emergencee. This is great stuff - I just used this for the first time today and my hair actually feels normal for the first time in months! I ordered it at Amazon and got it on sale for under $30.00 for a big bottle. It is easy to use and you can use it with or without heat. I used heat for a few minutes to warm up the conditioning cap and then left it on for about 20 min. It says you only have to leave on for 10 min., but I left it on longer b/c I was not using heat the whole time. You have to wash your hair afterwards and use a moisturizing conditioner like with most protein type treatments. Some people swear by this stuff and it really did seem to work.
EDIT: I think that I actually like the Nexxus Emergencee (not professional strength) better! My hair is so incredibly damaged right now I can't even deal. I used this the other night and can not believe how normal my hair feels and looks. The process is faster than the professional one and there is only one different ingredient between the two. The emergencee has one more ingredient - glycerin. I don't think that is important, but it does work better on my hair.

So, my hair is an utter mess. I have been trying to make hair appointments farther apart in effort to save money and this go around I waited to long. Split ends galore and just breakage every which way. I remembered using Emergencee before but my Wal-Mart stopped carrying it, so I never replaced my bottle. I loved it from before but simply forgot about it. Well, I called to make my hair appointment. my lady can't get me in for another 3 weeks, yikes! I finally found a bottle of Emergencee at Wal-Greens, it was about $15.00. Now I know a bottle of this is not going to magically give me gorgeous hair, only a trim/cut is going to do that. however, this has restored my hair to a livable condition. It feels strong and so soft and silky. I will never be without this product again. Update: on my third bottle of this. definitely need to keep a bottle on hand at all times.
WOW! i was very skeptical about this helping my hair. But it dose what it says. after i use this and then flat iron my hair, my hair is SOOO soft and silky. Loads fewer split ends and shinier. I just cant believe it! very happy w/ the results. will def. continue to use! :D
I do wish you got more product and a bigger size due to how expensive it is, but oh well. :)

This is the best product I have ever used to stop my hair from breaking off. I used it several years ago after highlighting and the pre-chi flat iron destroyed my hair. It brought my hair back to life and allowed me to grow my hair out. I stopped using it the past 3 years and switched to a different, more expenseive reconstructing treatment and my hair is not in good shape. I found this again at Wal Greens and my hair already seems healthier. I combined this with Kerastase Masquintense for moisture. So if your hair is breaking off or very damaged use this product to add strength and a great deep conditioner for moisture! Good Luck!
I have to say this product works. My hair has not been the same due to coloring the grays over the years. It has become frizzy and the structure is different, less smooth. When I use this product I notice that my hair feels smoother and softer and looks better. I wish I could use it each time I wash my hair, but I follow directions and only do it about every two weeks. I also have the K-pak protein conditioner, but this is definitely better. I definitely suggest trying it. I really like it.

Well, I LOVE this stuff regardless of the bad reviews. Instead of everyone getting 'so crazy' over this product, it's best to remember that not every 'thing' will work for 'everyone'.
All I know is that 'EMERGENCEE' works for me.
Now then, my hair is not really damaged... but I do COLOUR it, and I do use a BLOW-DRYER, HOT ROLLERS, and my HARD-BONNET HAIR DRYER all the time so... it just seems prudent to me to add PROTEIN from time to time. And I've got the healthy hair that shows what I'm doing in this regard is a good thing.
I use 'EMERGENCEE' every SIX-to-EIGHT WEEKS... two days before I go to the salon for a colouring. This is my routine:
I WASH my hair with 'Suave Clarifying' shampoo.
I then WASH my hair a second time... only using 'Creme of Nature Professional Detangling & Conditioning' shampoo. I do so because this shampoo leaves my hair coated enough that I can get a wide-tooth comb thru it without having to use a cream rinse or conditioner.
I towel-dry my hair, and apply the 'EMERGENCEE'. I like it because it works, of course, but also because it's THICK and kind of GLOPPY... it doesn't run, like 'water', all over the place. I then COMB it thru my hair, CLIP it up, (my hair is bra-strap length), and SIT under my hard-bonnet HAIR DRYER for 40 MINUTES.
Then I take another shower and rinse it all out... BUT, (although you're instructed to do so in the driections on the package), I DO NOT SHAMPOO AGAIN.
I just RINSE, it out, TOWEL-DRY my hair, and IMMEDIATELY apply a 'DEEP CONDITIONER'. In my case, I use 'SILK ELEMENTS' MEGA CHOLESTEROL CONDITIONING TREATMENT'.
Then, I CLIP my hair up again, and I'm back under the DRYER for another 40 MINUTES. RINSE that out, TOWEL-DRY, and let my hair AIR-DRY the rest of the way. And I stay that way, (no more shampooing or using styling products), until I go to my colouring appointment.
Now, then... YES, your hair feels STIFF and STRAW-LIKE. It's SUPPOSED TO. 'PROTEIN' IS NOT a conditioning or moisturizing agent. What you are doing with a 'PROTEIN-PACK' is REDEPOSITING the 'PROTEIN' you have stripped from your hair from colouring and every-day abusive actions like blow-drying, flat-ironing, blah, blah, blah.
The first-time I gave my husband a 'PROTEIN-PACK' treatment, (he has long hair), he came running into the kitchen all in a panic that something was terribly wrong with his hair. (I had put him under the dryer and gone into the kitchen to make us a snack). I said, 'What's wrong?' He said, 'My hair is all stiff!' (I thought he was gonna burst a blood vessel, *lol*). I laughed and told him, 'Nothing is wrong. All that stiffness means it's WORKING!' I then had to explain to him what I just explained above.
So... REMEMBER... A 'PROTEIN-RECONSTRUTOR TREATMENT' IS A TWO-STEP PROCESS--->
The 1st part is REDEPOSITING THE PROTEIN by using a PROTEIN-PACK like 'EMERGENCEE'.
The 2nd part is to then immediately REPLENISH THE MOISTURE in your hair by using a DEEP CONDITIONER like 'SILK ELEMENTS'.
And remember this too... IT ALL WORKS SO MUCH BETTER WITH HEAT.
One last comment... everything we do to our hair damages it. To repair that damage takes more than reading reviews and/or falling for marketing ploys. One must really begin to understand the 'CHEMISTRY' of hair. Hair is 98% PROTEIN, (called 'KERATIN'), and 2% WATER. BOTH NEED TO BE REPLENISHED.
p.s. You can see PICS of all the PRODUCTS I use and read about the METHOD in my 'NOTEPAD'. You will also see PICS of my hair and decide for yourself if my recommendations are valid for you. continued >>

I use this every couple months if I think I need it or not. Two years ago a bad hair color fried my hair and this brought it back to life. So, even though my hair is healthy, I use it for preventive maintenance. This does not moisturize, in fact, I think it clarifies. My hair squeaks like a rusty door hinge after I rinse it off. However, it is not harsh at all and really strengthens the hair. I use Natural Instincts hair color now and I cannot use this until a couple of days before I color again as it does strip the color. I like this, because it prepares my hair for new color.
This has become an important component of my Recovery Plan after a too-harsh Brazilian keratin treatment fried the shazizznit out of my AA, fine, curly hair. Following advice about hair breakage received via forum on another site, I apply generously to wet/very damp hair after a moisturizing shampoo. Then, before rinsing, I sit under a hardhat or bonnet hairdryer for 15 min. THEN I rinse and style (wet set - yes, there are a few of us left). Used in this method, this stuff drastically stops my hair breakage. I've tried using it according to label directions, but the results (starting with number of hairs that rinsed out with product) were noticeably unimpressive. Don't know how, don't care how, but it absolutely and undeniably slows hair breakage in my case.

I have been using this product every since I decided I needed a perm to make my life easier *sigh*
I have colored (lightening) hair and after the perm fried it, I had to have a lot cut off, I didn't want to go short short so I use this instead. At first I didn't think it had any effect except to make my hair feel coarse. I then realized you have to use a really good conditioner afterward. Then after the next shampoo and deep conditioner it is awesome! I noticed it was getting in need of another treatment in about one month. So the price isn't too too steep. Worth a try if your in the same boat I am :)

My salon expert recommended that I use this product infrequently, and I listened. However, when the going gets tough, it does deliver. And when the going get rough--as in when the hair shaft gets destroyed and some serious repair needs to be administered, I once again found this little bottle and got down to business.
After a Natural Instincts demi-permanent rinse on my salon highlighted and low-lighted beautiful hair pulled red and even a bit of green disaster, I was demoralized. If you've made an at-home color boo-boo to save money and a salon visit, you have to know what I mean. You end up wondering, "Why did I do this to myself?" Ugh. What else can I say? Shampooing with dish detergent and my regular conditioner left my hair cuticle a mess.
So I made an appointment with Donna the Great for tomorrow. But to get ready for her, I did a wash with the Emergencee, another wash, and a deep conditioner. Air dry. What a difference. My hair is smoother and shining. Less embarrassment. ;) *Promise to self: stop with the self-induced disasters. Go to the salon less often---but go the the salon!*
