Finally cover girl gets my money again, it has been years since I purchased a cg mascara. Lash blast didnt have a big impact on my lashes but OMG this one is great, it doesnt get all junky and it leaves my lashes so long and nicely curled and I dont need to spend a long time with it, I love it......
I was pleasantly surprised by this mascara. To be honest... I dont care too much for Cover Girl anymore, because i feel like a lot of their makeup is geared towards a teenagers look (IMO)... I like to layer my mascara as I have many favorites and they all do different things. I use clump crusher at the very end of my mascara 'cocktail' and it works really well. I have about 25 mascaras that I use depending upon my mood and the look that i am trying to achieve... I usually use one to lengthen and two others for volume... and by the end, no matter how good the mascara, you will have clumps just from all the layers. I will make sure my coats of mascara are totally dry and then run the clump crusher wand through my lashes until the clumps are gone. The brush is magic, and does an awesome job at making my lashes look real and really finishing the look that i want. Also, i love that the wand doesnt really have long bristles, its more of a comb- and this insures that it will remove any clumps without changing my desired look that the previous layers have created. The mascara comes in a thick bottle- which is lime green... i love this because it stands out in my sea of mascara bottles. I can say this is true for all oof Cover Girls mascara... they all look different; they are all cute, funky, hip colors and no one bottle looks the same as any of the others. I cant say for sure that this has turned me back to Cover Girl, but I am more willing to try more of their products because of the sucess I had with Clump Crusher AND their prices are pretty fair compared to all pharmacy and professional makeup. I hope you have sucess with this one... If you layer mascaras like I do, give this a go. Well worth the $7 or $8 that I spent! <3 continued >>
This is by far the best mascara I have ever used. It does exactly what it says. I have repurchased twice. I think this is my holy grail mascara!
Claims - True or False?
1) No clumps: True
2) 200x more volume: False
Packaging:
Large, a bit clumsy, tacky, and I dislike the brush. I'm a fan of simple tubes and I feel that this one is a bit awkward to handle. The bright green is a pretty colour but just too much for me. The upside to the tube is that the brush picks up a perfect amount of product and no excess, although possibly sometimes on the very tip. The comb is plastic and curved, which means you can really only comfortably/easily use one side per eye, as you're supposed to apply with the arch pointing up. Ultimately I found the brush to be too bulky and cumbersome to use, and it tended to leave product on my lids if I wasn't very careful with application.
Formula:
A dry formula, which I absolutely love. With the combination of having an ideal amount on the brush each time, it definitely makes for a better application. No strong scent, comes in 4 shades. I purchased the blackest shade and it's a nice obvious black without being harsh on my lashes. Easy to remove with makeup remover and comfortable on the eyes.
Performance:
Like the name says, there are no clumps with this mascara - but I'd say that as you near the end of the mascara's life it is more likely to cause some minor clumps. With a bit of work the mascara gives me great, separated lashes. I find that one coat gives me the separation I desire with awesome length but light on the volume. Adding a second coat seems to increase the chance of the lashes grouping together and eliminating that separation. Ultimately I'd say this is not a mascara to rely on if you want a lot of volume, but a better choice if you are looking for a more natural lash look. It can get a bit droopy with wear though, slightly flattening out my curl (which only happens with some mascaras). No flaking or smearing or smudging, but after using the product for a while the formula will get drier than it already is and require more work to pick up a bit more product onto the brush (swirling it around inside the tube seems to do it for me). In order for me to get the exact look that I want, it can take a bit of time to really get the application right; mostly a lot of combing it through the lashes followed by zig-zags. I find that I have to pay special attention to the tips of my lashes near the outer corner in order for them to get mascara, which is not a problem for me with most mascaras other than having to just dab a bit onto the very tips.
Bang for your Buck:
Around $8-10CAD for 13.1ml at Shoppers Drug Mart, which is more product than some of the other brands.
Final Consensus:
Not exactly what I'm looking for but it definitely gives me very nice lashes. I'll likely not repurchase as I'd like to find a mascara that provides more than what this one does and the brush is a bit of a pain, but it'd be one that I would repurchase if I were to run out of mascara and needed a trusted fall-back. Would recommend to others.

This is a very good mascara, for everyday use..I haven't used a lot mascara before, mostly Korean ones...but this one is pretty good.It gives a natural finish with fairly dark, thick lashes without looking spidery
About the department that I care about most, this one lengthens my lashes a little (judging by the distance between my lashes to my eyebrow,Clump Crusher gives 1 millimeter or two extensions),If I were to go with more dramatic look,I would apply this over my Lash Stiletto Washable for a bit volume and waterproof.
About the Clump Crusher name,I apply this over my L'oreal Lash Serum so..it clumped a little, maybe 2 lashes each clump? But then there's always my lash brush to take care of them clumps..not that they are visible to any eagles few inches away from my face anyway.
I don't know about the curl holding power of this one,as I always use my heated lash curler after the mascara has dry off , those heated curl stay on all day!
So overall,OK product!!Worth repurchasing, but I'll pass to continue searching for my HG.
Now finally a product for the lashes that doesn't clump, get sticky, or dry out and flake. If you don't want spider looking eyelashes and want a soft tint - this is your product. I love it and wear it everyday.
This is the best mascara I have used so far. I've boughten probably every type they sell (drug store types that is) and this one has been my favorite :) it does exactly what it says it should! Which most mascara's lack now-a-days. I like to put many layers of mascara personally because going over your lashes again and again starting from the very "root" of them, I feel, help lengthen them. And with this I can do that without my lashes becoming super clumped together, which is wonderful!
I absolutely love this product! I tried it when I was in a hurry and needed mascara, and now I'm in love! This mascara makes my eyelashes look and feel great! It's easy to put on, and there are hardly ever clumps! Even though it isn't waterproof, I haven't have problems with it running. It's easy to get off as well. I love this mascara!
I don't like this mascara because of the brush. I like a mascara I can just swipe on, but this one requires constant adjustment of the position of the brush to get it right. The result is good but it's just not for me--I will stick to mascaras with brushes that work in any position.
