I was previously using my Aveeno tinted moisturizer. About a week later, I realized that product breaks me out within 3 hours of wear. Ugh, gross.
So, of course, I got into all the hype about BB creams and how they are so good for the summertime. I researched and asked multiple people, and they said BB creams really do melt into your skin (in a good way), whereas foundations just sit on top of your skin, clogging your pores. I find that with foundation, halfway through a hot summer day my face because "patchy" and it literally starts melting off of my face. That is a complete no-no and super unattractive. As I said, BB creams melt into your skin. This is good because you still have the coverage there, but it's not blocking your pores, it's seeking into them. So, the internet and my friends were right, BB cream really is a better option for the summer.
Anyways, on to the actual Estée Lauder Daywear BB cream. So, to start off, this is honestly my HG face product for the summer. Here's why. I first apply my moisturizer, then my primer, and then, I apply this BB cream. When I first apply it, it's like silk to me! Absolutely amazing texture. Now, I can't compare this to anything else seeing I have never owned any other BB cream before, but i can tell you, this product really was worth my 45 dollars (CND price). The reason why I took off a lippie for this is because it isn't as moisturizing as I would hope. I have normal skin, so I feel like i do slightly need that moisture. Don't get me wrong, it still does give your skin SOME moisture, but not as much as I would want, sadly. I wore this BB cream for a good 12 hours at an AMUSEMENT park (yes, I went on water rides) and when I got home at 10pm (got at the park at 10am, which actually, I had to leave the house at 8:30am to get there in time) so, basically, it was on my face for 14 hours STRAIGHT. Wow, I cannot believe the staying power of this. I seriously only expected it to last for a good 5 hours, but it lasted me 11 hours. Without touching up or anything. I was stunned. And also, I find that it starts to look more glowy as the day goes on, which is fantastic. I absolutely love this. And will definitely spend another $45 on this. Estée Lauder products really set the bar high for me compared to other companies. I love the way they make their products.
The coverage of the BB cream is light, but for some reason, I don't find it very sheer. It definitely won't cover red blemishes COMPLETELY, but that's what concealer is for! It covers my under circles, and my natural redness on my cheeks very nicely. It gives a great, natural, even skin tone look. Love!

I got a mini-tube of this as a GWP - thankfully, it's in shade 1 Light, the lightest shade. It's almost light enough for my yellow-undertoned, pale (NC15), rosacean, dry, sensitive skin. I can't believe how much I like this stuff. The only negatives are that it's slightly too dark for me and I wish they made it in a lighter shade because it will be much too dark for me during winter; and it has a strong fruity fragrance. Other than that, it's lovely. The tone is pretty neutral but still works well for my warm skin tone. The finish is satin and the coverage is medium. It does fade somewhat by lunch so I need to touch it up, but that happens with every TM/BB cream/foundation I use. This evens out my blotchiness really well, has SPF 35, doesn't ball up when worn over my Shiseido sunscreen, doesn't oxidize at all, and doesn't cause breakouts. It's a keeper for sure!

I was looking for a lighter moisturizer as in the summer times my face gets extremely oily and the moisturizers I normally use (Time Zone and Daily Wear) are too heavy for me in the summer. I went back and forth on this as I am not into liquid foundations (as this was explained to me what it was) and a bit apprehensive as I tend to break out quite easily. I finally broke down and bought one, the light one. When I cleanse my face, use my EL toner, the illuminating skin serum and then this, my face looks radient! It covers up my red blotches (I sometimes tend to get red, dry skin) and my acne scars that I had from when I was younger disappeared. My face was nicely matted with a hint of a glow. This did not break me out, which is a plus. And only every once in a while I will use my MAC blot powder for my forehead and nose area. The color soaks right into my skin so there is no difference in color between where I apply and where I do not. I am very happy with this product and glad I purchased. I put the price as a 3 as I felt though it has multiple benefits, it is kind of expensive BUT a lot truly does go a long way. I use maybe 2 small drops to cover my entire face and neck area. This product will truly last me a long time!

The color Light is too dark for fair skin! Be aware! When I was first applying it I thought the color matched me, but then in 15 min it turned super orange! I had to put bronzer all over my neck, ears, etc so I don't look crazy. Unfortunately didn't work for me. As for the smell it didn't bother me as others, I actually liked the smell.

With all the fuss arround BB creams it´s hard not to go along with the crowd .. Of course that a multi-functional product is very attractive, the question is: does it really work?
I think it might, if you are on your 20´s (I wish I had this kind of product by then), or if you have a great skin, but for someone arround 40, or more, it simply is not enough! it´s not moisturizing enough, and you will need extra coverage. What I do is using a moisturizer bofore the BB cream, and foundation on top. So, for me, It works as a sunscreen (an expensive one). Don´t get me wrong, this is a very good product, but if you have some skin issues, or are over 40, this might not be up to your expectations.

I bought the bb cream 01 light about 3 weeks ago now. It was on sale in my pharmacy, so i went for it. I have been researching which ones are the best, but don't seen to find that much about the Estee Lauder one.
It has a mild fresh cucumber smell to it that i just love. If I use it in the mornings it stays on the whole day and makes my skin feel extremely soft! If i want a little more coverage, like under the eyes I just add a second layer. Usually I add a little bit of pressed powder on top or a bit of sun powder. The cream keeps my skin moisturized but never goes shiny! my skin in fair (im naturally blonde) and Normal but sometimes oily in the t-zone.

I bought this because I bought into the bb cream hype and I regularly use many other EL products. However, there are a couple of negatives. Even the light shade is WAY too dark for me and it really doesn't provide enough coverage to conceal my hyper-pigmentation---also, I haven't noticed it treating the discoloration. Now for the positives--I LOVE the cucumber scent; it feels so cool and relaxing. The spf coverage is good, so I actually layer this UNDER my foundation. I will purchase it again, but I really consider it just a tinted spf.

I love how this product replaces 2 other products, namely moisturizer and foundation/colored powder. That makes it alsof perfect for traveling. You have this one go to product which you can take with you wherever you go.

At least it replaces for me, I have combination skin and it provides enough moisture for me. This is a big plus because I tend to get flakey skin around my nose whenever my skin is not hydrated enough. It took a long time to find a daycream which is just the right amount of moisturizing without making my skin to shiny. So I was surprised that this cream was just right, I stopped using my normal daycream altogether. I plan however on buying a moisturizer without SPF for the days when you stay inside and don't feel like using make-up or for when you come out of the shower at night and want to hydrate your skin without putting make up on. Because the estee lauder bb cream is still make up, I wouldn't go to bed with it and always remove it.

I am fairly light skinned and for me the tone is perfect, I'm using 01 Light.

The only downside is that I find the cream rather thick. So I recommend rubbing a bit of product between your fingtertips before applying it, that makes it a lot easier.

Furthermore, it is not 'shine proof', or maybe I should rephrase that, it gives you a 'glow'. But the glow tends to increase a bit as the day goes on, maybe that's because of my combination skin. It's not that bad as it sounds, because when I ask a family member whether I'm shiny they say no. It's just af feeling I get, also because it makes your skin so smooth and hydrated. If you don't like a glow I recommend using a translucent powder after applying the cream, this is how I use it.

I have only been using it for 2 weeks now, and I'm beginning to notice my skin becoming less shiny. So maybe my skin needs some adjusting, and the shine proof is within reach. I do feel my skin is becoming healthier and better.

From now on my morning looks like this: putting on BB cream and a translucent powder (corn slik loose powder). It's as easy as it gets, you are ready for your day and took good care of you skin aswell!

I thought this was more like primer than BB cream. The color really wasn't there (I used the lighter shade), and it didn't conceal at all. I prefer the BB creams from Smashbox and Clinique to this one.

This is the first BB cream I have tried. I like that is has SPF 35. I like that is gives light coverage and it looks like I'm not wearing any makeup. I like the smell of it. However, I don't like that it makes my nose and a little bit of my forehead shiny. Though this can be remedied with finishing powder for a matte finish.
