Fairly inexpensive and easily found at my local CVS drugstore, I just had to try this product as it contains sulfur which is great for treating acne. Sadly it really irritated my skin, perhaps due to the acrylates which I've read can be skin sensitizers for some.

Who would have thought a $10 tube of a drug store product could make such a difference in my skin! I have tried everything to keep my skin from breaking out and I am amazed at how great my skin looks. Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, retinols - over the counter and prescription all are too irritating for my sensitive, borderline rosacea skin. I use this nightly instead of a moisturizer - I have oily skin and this works for me. In the beginning, I even used it in the morning and followed it with a moisturizer before my makeup application. If your skin is dryer, add your moisturizer afterwards. It's certainly worth a try and nice that you don't have to have a whole line of expensive products - just add this to your present regime and see what happens. I'm glad I did!

I would give this 10 lippies if I could. I've been using Prosacea for about 4 weeks now and haven't had one significant breakout in all that time. Some small red bumps have shown up but always disappear overnight. Sometimes I don't even wear this everyday but it still seems effective. My skincare routine is on my notepad, if you're interested in seeing that. This stuff is magic! Never had this kind of result with BHA, Differin, or Taz.... even tried a combo of BHA (AM) with a retinoid (PM) and never had results like this. I've also noticed that my face has less redness. Amazing! UPDATE: Well, around the 6 week mark, it is not as effective. Not sure if I've built up a tolerance to it or what. I've stopped using it... no new breakouts yet.

Wow, I'm truly surprised by all the positive reviews but it goes to show how a product can be great for one, awful for another.I have mild to medium rosacea that occasionally breaks out into pimples. My skin is always very sensitive and this summer the heat and high humidity upset it quite a bit and I saw this at my local CVS and figured it was worth a try. The info on the package lead me to believe it was safe for my type of skin.In the evening I applied as directed and the sulfur smell it was so strong, it almost made me vomit . That smell never abated. I told myself if it worked, it was worth the awful smell.Within 4-6 hours my entire face turned beet red and I felt as if my face was on fire. I immediately washed it off, which stung and burned terribly, and once I patted my face dry my face was very puffy and irritated. It was so painful I took some Advil to treat the inflammation. Over the next two weeks my skin flaked and peeled on the areas where I had applied this. My derm. rec'd Elidel to help treat the adverse reaction. So, for me this was really awful. The two weeks following the application were far worse than my average rosacea days. I have yet to learn exactly what irritated my skin so much, but please beware as it obviously has something in it that may make *some* of us reactive.

This product has been my savior. I have tried lots of different prescriptions from my dermatoligst, many different treatments from brands like Aveeno, Eucerin, and Prescriptives, I went all natural for a long time, I made my own home remedies, and I completely changed my diet. The latter few made somewhat of a difference as my skin was less irritated, but still... I have rosacea, oily skin -- with large pores, blackheads, whiteheads, and occasionally pimples, and highly sensitive skin and I need to be cautious of what I use.Within a week or two of using this product, my skin looks so much better. Not only is the redness very minimal, but my skin feels tighter when I wear it, which is great for my large pores. I can even take hot showers or go to the gym and my face is still fine! I wake up and go, "Wow! My skin looks NORMAL!"I'm so happy. I hope they make this for the rest of time. I actually need to go buy more now.

absolutely amazing stuff. i got it at walgreens.com, cheaper than anyplace else. smallish tube. i put on a pea-size blob am and pm. (canned english pea not frozen american pea).OVERNIGHT: my skin which is very ruddy and rosacea-ridden looked so much better i couldn't believe it. the longer i use it, the more clear my skin looks, better tone, am to the point of putting a little powder on and that's it. it's an opaque gel which is homeopathic, has a slight smell of sulfur at first and tastes awful, should someone want to put little kisses on your face. i wouldn't care if it tasted like a mud fence, they'd just have to wait. my derm. had just Rx'd metrocream for me, i had applied it several times with negative results when i stumbled across this, got it and dern, if it wasn't karma or something...it leaves your skin with a dry layer, don't know that it would actually worsen dry skin; mine is still oily although i am old. if you don't like it, SEND IT TO ME!! it's a miracle product. also controls what little acne i have left. (more and more and more praise..........)

I used this on some severe irritation around my nose from a lactic acid peel. Two days previously, I had used antibiotic cream with no improvement. Used the prosacea at bedtime, woke up and totally gone and feels much better. Tried it on a cystic pimple at the same time and although it's not gone (what treatment would work that sort of miracle in a night anyway?)-it's much smaller and the redness is much lighter than if I hadn't used anything.I'm going to continue to use this to see how it would work as a spot treatment and maybe work up to an occassional full face night for those premenstrual breakouts. I'll keep you posted.

I can no longer use Benzoyl Peroxide for pimples due to my rosacea...instant flaming hot skin. I bought this to see if it would reduce the redness and help with pimples. I've been using it for about a week and there is a noticeable difference in my skin. I went from about 10 pimples to 1. The one that is left is the cystic variety. It's on my cheek and is taking it's time to go away but in the past these have become huge, inflamed infections and this one has stayed relatively small. The redness in my skin is reduced dramatically as well. I haven't looked this good in 2 years in fact. I'm very pleased with this product. My only advice is use it sparingly as using too much is drying.

INGREDIENTS Active Ingredients: Sulphur 1x (Rosacea/Acne Treatment Gel)Inactive Ingredients: Acrylates, Aloe Barbadensis (Leaf Juice), Diazolidinyl Urea, Lactose, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Tetrasodium EDTA, Triethanolamine, WaterREVIEWLet me start out by saying I don't have rosacea but i do have mild to moderate persistant acne and combo sensitive skin. I have gone through one tube of this stuff already and i have to say that although my skin is normally sensitive, it is doing really well with this. It is decreasing redness and inflammation of my acne and preventing new acne from popping up and when it does come around, it is smaller and less painful. Anyway i only use at night and put a thin layer on around my acne prone spots like my chin and around nose and mouth and then i will leave a thicker dot on the bad spots. You could probably just spot treat with this also. It is slightly drying and you might want to put in a small area to see if there is a reaction as some people are probably bothered by sulfur. But this is much less drying than benzoyl peroxide. It is a slightly milky gel. Not sure how it would be under makeup but might be worth a shot for very oily skin.anyway will update continued >>
