This is one of the best concealers out there, and one of the best products of the Shu line. Creamy, blends into the skin. Consistency is thick, and covers small discolorations extremely well. Long-lasting. Great colors. Tube/wand form. The wand is unlike others, its just a stick, so that it picks up just a dab of concealer, which is all you need with this stuff. Even the sturdy plastic tube is satisfying. About $20 a tube. Holy Grail for me!
Most concealers that I've used fade away during the day as my skin generates oil, but this stuff just stays on all day. I use it to cover blemishes and discoloration left over from pimples. It feels light, and provides coverage without much effort (to me): I put a tiny dab of the concealer with the applicator stick, and tap the concealer a few times and it just blends in making the blemish invisible.
This stuff ROCKS.
I was expecting this stuff to do wonders for my skin. I followed the directions and experimented with different techniques for several days. The result was always the same, a melted, cakey mess that actually accentuated my flaws by turning an unsightly orange within a few hours of application. I'm sending mine back. Yuck.
I love this product! I was looking for a good concealer for blemishes to complete my wedding makeup, and thanks to all of you lovely people I have found my HG. It covers red spots and blemishes beautifully, the price is fantastic and the colour was pretty good on me too, I had no idea which brand to try so I did a search and this one came out the best - I can see why!
This is the most powerful concealor I've ever tried and my HG for covering difficult spots. It is very concentrate and only need less than a dot to cover a zit / blemish entirely without a trace! It is water proof and stays put all day until you remove it with makeup remover. Price is great, 1 small tube last me over a year with everyday use! Usually I just dot a bit on the blemish & use a small concealer brush (here I always use a flat lip brush for concealers) to blend fast - then you'll have seamless full coverage. Definitly not for the eyes as it'll be too drying. Below is a brief for the color, I found that color on the web are so misleading!
*5yr medium - the darkest & orangy (!)*
5yr medium L - lighter then 5yr & 7yr-medium, slightly lighter than 7yr-L with less yellow*
7yr medium - darker then 7yr-L & H w/less yellow, but lighter then 5yr & don't appear orangy*
7yr medium L - lighter than the medium one with more yellow*
7yr medium H = NC20, just a bit less yellow than 7yr-L (no hint of pink), with a brighter tone
In sum,it does what concealers are meant to do but in the most genius way!
was deciding this concealer or the Cle de pleur one which cost a bomb!! This one just cost SGD47 compared to the $116 price tag. Tried it on and it covered most of my blemishes really well. looks pretty natural too. Tried the luxe CDP one at the department store and it felt really luxurious and spread really well. Will consider trying the CDP one after i finish this one
Very drying. MA told me I could use this under my eyes, which looked great in the store. When I tried it myself at home mixed with eye cream- dry, cakey, and emphasized every line. The applicator is also very odd. I like something creamy!
If you are using this for blemishes I think it would be okay, but I prefer Bobbi Brown's concealer stick.
Let me start this review by mourning what I believe to be (meaning, this is unconfirmed) the demise of Shu's beloved Mark Cealer. This is most certainly not a replacement for the Mark Cealer; it is an entirely different product. First, let's discuss the bizarre applicator. It's a plastic skinny stick with nothing at the end. (Like when they bust off the spongey thing on lip glosses at the MAC counter.) Second, let's discuss the product. It's very slippery, almost watery and less pigmented than the Mark Cealer and simply does not do as good of a job as covering things such as dark under eye circles, melasma and broken capillaries at the first pass... however, coverage can be easily built up after you let the first "coat" dry. On the other hand, it is a far superior pimple and/or scar concealer than anything I've tried to date. The beauty of this product is its ability to mimic the texture of real life skin, and it does it freakishly well, without making the blemish or scar appear more prominent, chalky or covered in some yucky flesh covered cakey substance. Therefore, I conclude that this is the best product on the market for covering three-dimensional flaws and scars, once you get over the stupid applicator. I will repurchase unless I find out it breaks me out in which case I will add an addendum to this review.
This is the very best concealer you can buy, I firmly believe. It is like white-out. You use so extremely little- a pin-size drop is even too much for most blemishes. My lovely makeup artist Robert at Barney's LA recommended I rub in the area around the blemish with the wood end of the brush so the brush will not absorb any product. This really covers like no other, dries matte, and lasts all day. This is the key to the flawless face!
