I bought this product in hopes that it would be a good cheaper alternative to L'oreal's Lash Boosting Serum, I was sadly mistaken. The serum made my eyelids burn and swell when it was applied. I decided that rather than applying it like eyeliner I would just coat my lashes with the product instead, that didn't work either. I have naturally long sparse eyelashes and the product was too heavy to actually coat 1/3 of my eyelashes, so the tips of my eyelashes were left bare. I'll stick with L'oreal Lash Boosting Serum because it actually works for me.
Surprisingly this product seems to work for me and I don't even use as often as I should. Although, it might be a placebo effect, but hey, there's result and I like it.
The only complaint I have is that when I wake up in the morning, there are residues crumpling my lashes and also stick to my eyelids. Though, it can be easily wash off with water, but I just don't like the fact that the residues might cause potential wrinkles around my eyes.
I was surprised but it worked, It takes about 3 weeks but i am starting to see new baby eye brow hairs growing back in
I'm a bit on the fence about this one, because it does have face validity by doing what it says....promoting lash growth, however it's the side effects that negate the positive for me. I've been using it for 3 days, and it does make my lashes feel/look longer and fuller. I quickly realized that this product was going to be for night time use only..the consistency is a bit sticky and gunky. Too much so to be applied under makeup. I do my night time ritual of cleansing and moisturizing, then apply with the nifty wand to both lashes and some thin spots on the arches of my brows. This product doesn't bother me at all until I wake up in the morning. My eyes are almost swollen shut and red underneath. That's a big con for me! I have longer lashes but I have to apply more makeup and treatments to reduce the massacre underneath my eyes? No thanks! For that reason I'm not re purchasing...I wish there was a way Rimmel could improve on the sensitivity problem with this product, because it has made my lashes look better than ever.....The search continues!
I Love it!!!! Works Great...my Lashes are alot Longer . I apply it like an eyeliner during the day under my makeup and at night before bed. I Haven't had any irritation at all. I bought a different lash serum before that was $60.00, and this Rimmel lash accelerator has all the key ingredients that the expensive one did and More! for $8 you can't beat it!
Here's the key ingredients that are in this product:
PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil
Bamboo leaf extract
Pathenol (vitamin B5)
I purchased this because I had a coupon and I have been searching for a replacement for the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow conditioner I have used for years. The Rimmel serum can be used on brows or at the lashline/combed through lashes to promote growth. I returned it after using it twice after using it on both brows and lashes. First I used it as a brow conditioner. It was terrible. It dried in a sticky sheet and just sat there. The next morning I was able to peel it off in a big sheet. The Anastasia one that I usually use is absorbed into the skin and you can easily use it under makeup. This one is not absorbed and is totally visible so you could not use it during the day. And if it peels off in one sheet, how much is it actually working to promote brow growth? Second, I used it at the base of my lashes and combed it through the lashes with the nifty comb. Oh my lord did it BURN like crazy. It made my eyes tear so badly I tried desperately to wash it off but my eyes burned all night and were then completely swollen the next day. What an awful experience. I saw a review on another site that said you can't apply it directly after you remove your eye makeup and wash your face. Huh? Umm how long am I supposed to wait? Somehow it magically doesn't hurt if I wait? So I returned it to Target where they would only give me store credit because the product was already opened. Ugh! All I can say to those who are considering this is don't do it! There are other much less painful options out there.
