I was disappointed in this product, especially for the price. It leaves streaks no matter how I apply it, and it settles into fine lines which I don't notice with other foundations. Good points: it stays on for hours and the color match is great.

This foundation looked FAB on my friends, but it looked strange on me. I didn't have the patience to apply it I guess. I used warm ivory, but it was too light and unfortunately the sunny beige is too dark. I love the tinted foundation though, and I am achieving excellent results with the foundation powder. I just wished this worked for me. I gave it to another friend. I just found it difficult to work with. I am very pink. Everytime I applied, I could still see pink, but with OF makeup on top of it (almost like that sponge technique that people use on their walls). I had a hard time blending it as well. However, I love Laura Mercier products. They are lovely and well made.

This is a superb, world-class foundation. Highly pigmented, light texture, easy to blend, coverage can go from sheer to substantial, and does not clog pores. The wide range of colors will match for pretty much anyone; Sunny Beige *disappears* into my C3 skin. I'm on my fourth bottle and will definitely continue to purchase.

I bought this based on reviews here - and boy am I glad I did! I haven't been using it recently because I'm actually a little to pale now for the shade I got (Warm Ivory - near match to Revlon CS Natural Buff or NC20). It is a matte foundation and it seems to be most appropriate for oily or combination skin types - I see how it could be dry and look unatural and unattractive on drier skin types. Blendability is as issue, but like they tell you at the counter, dab some water on your sponge (or fingers) and mix it in with the foundation when you apply it (still, this will only get you limited blending time, so I understand the complaints about this). I would recommend this for oily and acne-prone skin types since it doesn't appear to cause breakouts.
UPDATE: I've been working with this foundation for a few months now. I've tried applying it with a couple different foundation brushes (Prescriptives and Paula Dorf) and concluded that the best way to apply it was with my fingers. I first pat a thin layer of water on my face, then rub in the foundation briefly and lightly. Then I do the rest of the blending by using a patting motion.

I wouldn't call this my HG foundation although I nearly wanted to do so when I first used it. It is definitely a good quality foundation. You only need a little to provide good coverage. I am using Sunny Beige and Warm Ivory. Sunny Beige melts nicely into my skin but darkens a little after several hours. Warm Ivory is for occasions where I need to look more 'made-up' since it's slightly lighter and brings out colours of my make-up. It can be a bit drying especially around the mouth and eye-area. It does gives a dewy feel and look but I feel uncomfortable with this 'sticky' feel and needs to dust Ettusais loose powder over to rid it. I use LM tinted-moisturiser before the foundation and I'm too lazy to dampen my brush when applying the foundation. Anyway, it's not thick at all to warrant that kind of trouble!

This is my HG foundation. I use the oil free, blush ivory as my skin is so pale. Love the color and the fact that the coverage can be layered. Have tried several other foundations, but always return to my old faithful.

My friend turned me onto this product and WOW, am I ever glad. She works in Toronto as a makeup artist for movies and she she swears that this and the Shu Nobaru foundations are the only two she ever uses on movies stars for that natural but perfect flawless finish. Now I'll say that I totally believe her and love this product.

The product has a natural matte finish and it's a strong coverage so it'll cover everything from the minute to the large discolourations on your skin. Though I know people claim to have a hard time 'working this in'. I found this perfect on my oily combo skin with the Laura Mercier primer underneath. I just wash my face, moisturize, put the primer on and wait for about 3 minutes to 'set'. Then I put on the foundation with my fingers ... I usually 'warm' the foundation first and place the foundation on in a downwards motion. After some blending with my fingers... voila. Flawless skin that doesn't feel heavy or gets the oily creases throughout the day. I've been complimented by strangers asking me for my skin care regimen. :)

I also love the updated new look to the packaging and the very very sleek and precise pump they have. Finally! Someone at Laura Mercier heard the cries of 'boring brown' and updated it to a rich burnished coppery brown with black matte accents. I'm a MAC NC30 and found that Sunny Beige is the colour for me. continued >>

This is a definite HG for me (and that's a phrase I don't use lightly). The LM Oil Free foundation gives my combo/oily skin a flawless finish, and if you apply it properly (lightly with a damb sponge) it never looks cakey. I use most of LM's "flawless face" line (Secret Camouflage, Secret Concealer, Translucent Powder) and these items in combination make me look like I have absolutely perfect, pore-free skin.

I'm almost done with my first bottle, definitely repurchasing. I'd say anyone with dry or combo/dry skin probably should use this, but my oily skin is completely happy with this. No breakouts from it either!

As for color matching I'm a warm LLL, NC20 and I wear Warm Ivory. continued >>
