I recently rediscovered this & I forgot how great it is. It truly does remove build up & leaves my hair super clean. It has a slightly medicinal smell but I like it for some reason. I use it only once a week or so & make sure to use a good conditioner afterwards. Great stuff & only $4.99.
great stuff! if used once a week, it really does make your other products work better by removing the gunk build-up from your hair. leaves your hair clean, silky, and super shiny :)
(just make sure you use a good conditioner afterwards)
This is a great shampoo to use when you need a "break" from you regular stuff. It takes out the residue and has a clean smell.
Price: $4 something at Wally World
Packaging: Plastic bottle with a top where you press one end and it opens. Comes in a cardboard box.
Product: WONDERFUL! I use this about once every one or two weeks to get rid of residue left in by hair products. It has a clean, unisex scent. Combined use with a conditioner (Back to Basics Kiwi Melon or Suave Professionals Awahupi (sp?), it leaves my hair light, fluffy, and volumized. And when I return to my usual shampoo, it does work better. I swear, everybody needs this.
Overall: Run and buy it now!
EDIT: I've started to add a little bit of this to my regular shampoo and I've noticed that its been rinsing cleaner.
I love this shampoo. I have fine hair with oily scalp and this shampoo does the great job for me. My friend likes it too, though her hair is longer and she needs to apply a conditioner on the ends of the hair. But my hair lasts longer without looking like a future oil reserve (as my boyfriend likes to call it). I use only this shampoo and nothing else. Hair is hard to manage right after the wash, but once my hair is dry, is beautifully soft.
i use it as a once or twice a month to give me a anti-residue clean. i do tend to get dandruff after. but your hair feels clean and manageable. i would recommend if you use alot of different shampoos and/or styling products. your hair will feel different. UUMM really clean.
The first time I used this was after getting my hair done for a formal and trying to get all the hairspray/mousse, etc. out of the hair. The shampoo was fantastic!!! I now use this once a week to clarify. The only drawback of the shampoo (as I've noticed others commenting) is its scent (not horrible but not the greatest either).
I have been using this stuff once a week for like 5 years! It's great, really removes all the gunk and makes my hair super shiny:)
I used this once, but tossed it aside because I didn't like the scent. I recovered it just recently after discovering how much I needed to remove the buildup from my current shampoo. After using Neutrogena's Anti-Residue shampoo again, I realized the strong (I can still still smell the remnants of it even after using my regular shampoo), unisex-like scent is actually a nice change from the ever-popular fruity scents. (I find that the smell of any product can typically be overlooked if it does its job well. =) In addition, it's decently priced and available at your local drugstore. Overall, a great shampoo to use in between your regular.
I am a licensed cosmetologist. I have tried practically all of the top of the line "clarifying shampoos," from Bed Head (TIGI) to Sebastian. Of all the clarifying shampoos you THINK you need to try from the salon or discount store, THIS IS THE ONE to use. Don't waste your money on fancy packaging or fragrances. Not even other Neutrogena shampoos come close to this effectively cleaning build up of gels, sprays, waxes etc. Also this shampoo is A MUST HAVE for fine, thin hair that is lacking bounce and shine. This shampoo will also ENHANCE the effectiveness of any conditioner you are currently using.
