I heard so much positive feedback about this from so many people, but the only thing I liked about this product is how pale the palest shade it.
I found it extremely drying on my face, hard to blend and very thick. I think it would only really suit normal/oily skin types as it looks terrible on dry skin and really enhances it.
This foundation is simply fabulous for a pale girl like myself. Having endlessly tried to find the right shade that isnt orange, too dark or has a yellow tinge. But it does have a weird consistency, not very light and smooth at all, thick and sticky but it lasts all day so its brilliant
I love this foundation. The only negative thing is that it makes a dry patch of skin on my face even more noticeable. It covers pimples really good. But I don't know if this makes my skin break out. Over the liquid foundation I apply a small amount of gosh pressed powder over it and it's really good, except for when I see my self under this terrible light we have in the bathroom that makes me look like I have caked on my make up. But in natural lighting it looks really great! But now I'm sorta going for this more natural look without foundation. :)
Wow! What a great product! This is a really good drugstore foundation. I find it lasts a really long time and goes on well, It has yellow undertones and the pricing was reasonable. The only thing I don't like is the packaging, depending on how it sits or lays, It sometimes squirts out WAY to much Product. This foundation is truly amazing. Can't wait to buy another tube.
To me, foundation is something that's very hit-or-miss, depending on the person, and what works for some may not for others. For me, I had been bouncing around, trying a ton of different foundations for my problem skin (I consistently have bad breakouts). I had tried all of the low-end drugstore brands, along with MAC, Studio FX, and Estée Lauder. None of them really clicked for me, either not providing enough coverage or not having the right shade. Finally I tried Gosh. Porcelain matches my skin perfectly, without being too yellow or leaving one of those horrifying lines at my chin/neckline. It provides good coverage, although I always use it with concealer, and with the finishing powder, doesn't wear off easily. I agree with what some other reviewers have said -- it does have a tendency to pick up on dry patches, but I suppose that's a lesson for me to moisturize more.
A tube of this lasts much longer than I would think, considering it's size. To me, foundation depends very much on your skin type, tone, and body chemistry, but Gosh being one of the cheapest of the upper-end drugstore brands, it doesn't cost an arm-and-a-leg to try it.
This is a perfect foundation for pale skinned girls. I find most brands palest shade too dark for my skin. But X-ceptional wear in Porcelain is perfectly pale and matches my skin perfectly.
I would say it gave a medium coverage. But I find 2 layers on spots/ dark circles is enough to provide heavy coverage. I usually dont bother with concealer because 2 layers is enough for me.
People have complained about the foundation being greasy but I dont find this. I think it gives a natural look. Not too dewy and not too dry. Its has light reflecting particles and gives skin a healthy look.
I've tried many different foundations by Rimmel, MAC, Illamasqua and Bourjois and I always return to Gosh. Its my favourite foundation. Definetly recommend it. Its sells for £8 in Superdrug.
I bought this purely because of how light Porcelain is, ive been in mac stores for foundation in the past and was given the mineralize liquid in NC15, because although it didn't have the finish I wanted, it was the only colour even close to my skin because it runs a shade lighter than other mac foundations. it was too orange and I ended up giving it away.
the only foundation I have ever found that is pale enough for me is estee lauder doublewear, which I love but I find it hard to remove, even with lush's ultrabland.
this foundation doesn't oxidise which is amazing, and it's prefect for medium coverage. the reason I've knocked off a lippy is because it doesn't have buildable coverage imo, as soon as I try to put another layer on my nose for example, it seems to wipe away the product underneath and goes kinda blotchy.
it's quite cheap, and overall a good foundation. it's quite matte even without powder, although it does contain light reflectants. I have no idea how that makes sense, but the finish is so easy to wear because it's matte but not chalky, and your face still has some dimension to it. I have really dry skin at the moment so I prefer not to use powder, and with this I don't have to.
on me I find it lasts on the face quite well, it doesn't love up to gosh's claims (nothing ever does really), but it fades away rather than caking or streaking.
a purchase on a whim that I'm so glad I bought, I've repurchased it 4 times now, it lasts around six months and that's with daily application and touchups.
if you struggle with having stupidly fair skin as I do, try this!
This is such a amazing foundation! I was very surprised, because it very cheap in Denmark - and the tube looked so small, so I thought "This will only last me a month or two", but no, I use it atleast 3-4 times a week, and quite alot of it, but no problems at all.
I am very fair - my Studio Fix Fluid in NW15 is way to dark for me (and maybe a bit to orange too), but the Gosh shade in "Porcelain" is a perfect color match. It make my skin look fresh and dewy, but not at all shiny. I always set it with my MAC MSF natural in light, and it still on when I come home from school. I drive my bike to school, and is therefor outside alot - in all kind of weather.
I would recommand this to everyone, who is looking for at very fair foundation, with medium coverage, that is not completely mat. I do not use this on my forehead though, because I have very flakey skin.
This review is actually for the GOSH makeup mousse, but couldn't see how to add a review when it hasn't been reviewed already...
This foundation has a light mousse (as the name suggests) texture. I received the lightest shade (01: Ivory) it as a free gift and it looked way too dark in the container. However, it was lighter upon application and a good match for my NC30 skin. Coverage is light and natural. Recommended!
This foundation is one of the better ones I have came across, mainly beacuse it hasn't broke me out terribly. My only complaint about this foundation is that if your skin is dry, it will accentuate it with a flakey patch. I like the colour selection, the formulation, and the finish it gives.
