I LOVE most gardenia products if done right, which I really wanted and hoped for from this. I purchased the fragrance and lotion and the lotion (in the container) smells like my wedding flowers - 100% gardenia bouquet and since it was in Hawaii, tuberose leis. Should be perfect, but on my skin smells like aldehydic rubber! I am so disappointed but it makes me appreciate the beauty of Marc Jacobs even more.

I am not a white flower gal, but that does not keep me from appreciating a well done white flower. Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia is one of the best in its category. It is very elegant (no indoles here) and sophisticated, yet has a very natural and uncontrived feel. To my nose it is more gardenia, and I would say that the supporting role is being played by jasmine rather than tuberose. I have never purchased it, did not even wear the many samples I have received, but I would purchase it as a gift. Would make a terrific mother's day present to a white flower loving mom.

I do like this fragrance very much. It does not smell a lot like gardenias to me though, but it is still a lovely sweet smell. People always ask me what I am wearing when I have it on, and they tell me how nice I smell. So yep, will buy it again.
Update:
Oh me, or my, it is time to buy more of this one, or another bottle of Beautiful...I do so love them both and wish I were not out of both at the same time!! Which to buy first?

Straight up Gardenia ,straight up tuberose and nothing much in between is what I get and how beautifully simple and just plain beautiful this is. I love it.
So......there is carnation in this , how lovely- it's one of my favourite notes ever.

Update ...
I have always loved this scent but I continued to search for that 'perfect' gardenia in a fragrance. Some are too harsh ,some plain weird, some synthetic in smell and then I returned to this . And how I 've come to appreciate it even more as an extremely well done gardenia perfume. Nothing really comes close ,for me.
On me it is mainly neroli and lots of fresh gardenia blooms with some vanilla orchid thrown in - like I am holding a bouquet of freshly cut gardenias.
I know I have said this before about other scents but I think I really found 'the one'.

This review is for the EDP. I found this fragrance to be subtle and linear, a fragrance that can be worn anywhere. I think it smelled good but not good enough for me to purchase. Considering the price as well as the exclusiveness of Tuberose Gardenia, I was expecting much more. The lasting power was decent and although I liked how this smelled, I myself don't want to smell like this fragrance. I won't be purchasing a full bottle.

Just got this for Christmas after smelling it on a friend. I have never been so excited to wear a new fragrance before. LOVE IT! My husband thought it was a bit overpowering when it first goes on, but give it a few minutes and it's SO beautiful. Makes me feel SO beautiful too!

Loooove this dry gardenia scent. Not suffocating like Marc Jacobs. Too bad DH said it smelled gasoline, or petro-chemical on me....

I saw an advert for this in a magazine, and was struck by just how beautiful the bottle is. There was a sample strip attached and it smelt delightful. So for my birthday, my husband bought me a bottle from the Lauder website. He did go a bit pale when he saw the price mind :0)
Well what can I say.. easily my most favorite perfume, floral, not too green and lasts all day. I adore this and I am pleased to say it has become my signature scent. My friend said she could still smell it on a scarf and that it smelt wonderful.
As for the price, well my husband is not quite so enthused, but it does last and last. Just wish I could get hold of the solid fragrance in the compact , but it is not sold in the UK. .. sigh

After sampling this scent at Sniffa 2007, I finally splurged and bought a bottle this spring. I'm so glad I did! Normally tuberose and I do not get along well(Fracas being the notable exception), so I had been reluctant to even try this scent.

However, on my skin, I get mostly gardenia and something ever so sweetly green from this perfume. I get a faint hint of something warm and tropical as the scent dries down, but the tuberose is surprisingly unobtrusive on me. In addition, while the perfume is sweetly floral and has definite sillage, it is not nearly so strong as I had thought it would be. It makes me feel put together, but would never enter a room ahead of me. continued >>

I wrote a review for Estee Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia about a month ago and after receiving my bottle; I've come to the conclusion that my previous review didn't do EL PTG justice. The scent is more beautiful than anything I've ever smelled in a fragrance. It speaks to me in volumes...... it is truly SensualSusanna in a bottle!
I can see why this was kept private for so long. It's a vivacious and bright melange of florals that is perfectly crafted; I can smell the tuberose (my favorite) and the gardenia --- both of which are not overly sweet. Neroli stands out on my skin; which makes the gardenia more gardenia-like and the tuberose, well more tuberose-like. Sadly, and all too quickly, the gardenia and tuberose subside on the skin --- but alas, the neroli shines thru and gives way to a wonderful drydown with whispers of the two tropical white sister flowers. However, if you spray this lovely on your clothes, your sheets or a scarf (very french), all the notes proudly stand out for days. It's absolutely lovely! Perfect for everyday, evening and particularily good for bedtime. A new favorite is born! Dare I say --- I even adore it more than Fracas! It's Fracas' grand-daughter --- that modernism has bestowed a new generation of this classic that is not as loud... but rather speaks more eloquently -- is more classically trained and just as timeless and beautiful. A new modern classic is revealed and I am revelling it is lusciousness. Kudos ... all hail Aerin Lauder.
